irrespective of who we appoint, he must be allowed to bring in his own players, we have an opportunity these coming windows to totally revamp the squad , and give us a decent basis to move forward , this league is gone , we must focus on rebuilding and getting ready for potentially champions league qualification games .

I suppose I should concede that I've no idea who should replace Gio. Removing him the right move but who replaces him obviously key - particularly with a view to revamping the squad substantially over the next three windows. Byword will be patience. Are fans prepared to wait?

Problem with a fairly large overhaul is losing the interest of players who know they are going/want to go (see Morelos et al). Next issue is that of strategy - just how much do we spend and should Wilson direct that? All this demands leadership. AGM must offer clarity of thought.

We can/should be critical of existing board but reality tell us they're not going anywhere. Nevertheless pressure is on them to work better with supporters (not just fan media) to help achieve success. They need to keep us onside during increasingly difficult times for everyone.

Barring a huge surprise, the title has realistically already gone this season. C'est la vie. However, no reason we can't all work together to deliver an improved challenge next year. Let's not take supporters for granted and that will maximise time/patience for the new man.

Would you want him in charge of us?

Why try the misdirect ?  That wasnt what you originally asked or asserted.

You said you didn't want Knutsen because he has no British experience and may not be able to cope.  I merely stated that Ange had no British experience and has won the league last year and looking increasingly likely to win it this year.

Ange was a better appointment than Gio, that's for sure.  I wouldnt ever want anyone that has managed for them to manage us.  But that also is irrelevant to your original assertion.

Board would need to spend money - it can't be said we didnt spend money in the summer window, we just spent it either poorly or in areas we didnt need to.

We have approx 12 wages that will be freed up , we have just had C/L money,  Basseys money,  Ittens money , and a lot of the one off s from these last accounts won't be recurring,  so surely there is money available to strengthen , we still have the basis of a good team , but it needs strengthened , as every one has said .

I still there's players we've signed who can come good if we play a system which suits them; if we have a system in the first place and also in a team which is more confident.

But like @rbr says, we should also have a good chunk of wages coming free which will help out. Even if we don't use all of them, McGregor, Davis, Helander and Roofe should all go and we are probably going to lose Morelos and Kent too.
