[FT] Rangers 2 (Dessers 60' pen; Danilo 68') - 1 Morton

Recommended Posts

I'm on the fence about what we do here. In reality, we have the players/squad to rotate the full 11 and still should win fairly comfortably, but, its a new team, so some consistancy in selection is needed. We also have PSV on the Tuesday so some players should be rested....

Personally, players I definitely want to see playing are Ridvan(if available), Sterling, Dessers and Hagi.

Cifuentes is basically in the middle of a season so doesn't need game time.

Cantwell was a late fitness test recently and can probably be rested.

Dessers needs gametime if he's still not 'match fit' and hopefully a confidence boost of a goal or two.

Wholesale changes in a team thats already still gelling/building though is not neccessarily something that would be advised so definitely will be interesting to see what team starts and may tell some stories about peoples positions in the squad...

The forwards and midfield need more game time, so play the best players in those positions until we have the game won.

I'd maybe experiment a bit at the back, giving Sterling and/or Devine a go, along with King.

Goldson & Jack will definitely be rested as they cant play 2 a week. Cantwell should be protected, Tav should be rested and Sterling should be given a chance at RB, and not sure which of the options up front will be selected, as all of them (Dessers, Lammers, Danilo, Sima, Roofe, Matondo) need game time and to find form ahead of a massive two weeks with the double header with PSV, a tough trip to Dingwall and then the must-win OF game before the first break.

I'd make 4 or 5 changes.

Cantwell, Raskin, Tav, Jack and Souttar all come out for Hagi, Dowell, Sterling, Lundstram and King/Balogun.

I'm going from the Livi XI not the Servette.
