Oh no, to the contrary. What we did is to fill those spaces freed with people incapable of playing the football required. Instead, all those DMs and the CM sat back and we played virtually on top of our defence, instead of keeping them occupied in their half - something creative/attacking players would have caused.

 

Likewise, Borna and Tav didn't provide any attacking threat whatsoever.

Maybe good for Europe against much better teams who will dominate the ball but domestically we need more bodies up the pitch.

I do not know what Beale's plan with the substitutions were. Either they were rubbish or the players simply didn't comply, maybe a mixture of both. This sort of stuff doesn't do anything for our confidence, and the confidence of the players in their manager. It was really, really grim to watch. If we manage to get kicked out of the cup by Livingston, this might be it for Beale ...

Cheese n Onion ! that was freakin awful again. I almost picked up the news paper on my Dads coffee table three times during that hideous game. I know we got the three points, but it is merely polishing a turd.

Dreadful performance. Replacing Matondo with Souttar is unexplainable. Everything went downhill from then on as the team had so few attacking options. 

 

Going with a back 5 and 3 defensive midfielders at home against Motherwell is just crazy.
