IMO, the overall number is unrealistic due mostly to Raskin. I am talking about actual fees, not what Rangers may ask for. I'd imagine the two numbers s will be significantly different. Time will tell.

You are left with modern football which is rubbish. Nobody should be forming emotional attachments to random mercenaries like Dessers, Igamane and Raskin.

Surely getting emotionally attached to players is half of what football is all about? I accept it's illogical and childish but if you remove emotion from football what are you left with? I'm not disputing the validity of the business model, but it's ok not to want your best players sold, even if it's inevitable.

What should we spend the 500k windfall on?

If the rumours are true then the club are looking for £25m for Nico, £15m for Igamane and £5m for Dessers. Are any of these really unrealistic?

Tell the Greeks to keep the money. I just want to see Dessers kissing the badge, and tripping over the ball, in a pre-season friendly.

Players are cattle. Some need to be sent to market so we can afford new ones and maintain the rest. You cant always grow your own as we well know. Fans need to realise the game has changed. Random Moroccans and Belgians have no affinity with the club or the support. Its a job with a stepping stone to a another, better paid job.

We've screamed for a player trading model that works. That requires detaching any 'emotion' we may have to any / all players. If the model works, we recieve £xxM for 3 players, that's then used to buy 6 players and the cycle continues and the risk reduces. Each player has a price and if that price is Mey, we sell and move on. It's the only way can work.

I think we got the best of him a tremendous player.

Maybe you could use that to bring in newer players.
