With Everton about to sign Kyle Walker and giving Seamus Coleman another year could we do a deal with Everton to get a fit Nathan Patterson on loan for a year? We could then use Tavernier sparingly and it would bring in a player who knows the club and allow us to work on other positions.

Cifuentes sure looks surplus to requirements, not least since we brought in Barron. Whatever rode us to pay as much as we did for him, I reckon he will be send away this summer on loan or for good. Maybe Martin wants a look first, though.

No one has a clue who we're after, the reason all we're seeing is UK based players is that folk are generally pretty myopic and don't look further than our shores, before they make shit up and put it on twatter.

I think I'm just going to target Auckland and take the free bonus point, rather than try to be greedy.

Good to know that our scouting system has improved. Instead of scouring the world for top young cheap talent, we are now loading up football manager, filtering by 'England', then looking for transfer listed, free or loan available players. This is such a good strategy I'm not sure why we haven't tried it before. Cant wait to see our wage bill by the end of next summer.

Watched the first half of the Boca Juniors v Benfica match and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Argentinians play football with real dynamic vigour and the overflowing passion (on and off the pitch) is great to see. Makes some of the British football of recent years seem even duller though.
