Dessers would be good to keep as a second striker, but his value now is at its maximum and financially we may be better selling.
-
Davide Ancelotti was an interesting candidate but I was unconvinced he was the right person for a job that difficult doesn't begin to describe. Problem is I've still no idea who should get it as I'm not enthused by anyone linked. Just appoint Gerrard and Naismith and be done with it...
-
He also terrorized both Man Utd's defence and Athletics getting a few goals so that's also a factor to consider when we are playing in European games, I’d keep him for at least a few more seasons and see who we bring in who could work alongside him, Dannilo on the other hand I would Mag to Grid ( get rid) 110%.
-
I'd actually be okay with us going into next season with CD, HA and one other striker, preferably someone quick. CD isn't perfect, and he absolutely does my nut in at times, but I'd keep him.
-
Move to Brazil with the old man or be his own man in Glasgow? One can't really blame him for taking the easier option. The sightseeing in Rio is considerably more pleasant than Glasgow, I'd have thought.
-
If Igamane could look up, find a teammate more often and cut out some of the dribbling, he'd be a better central forward (actually playing him there might help cut out the necessity for the hopes above).
-
End the reign of quantity. Time for quality.
-
Looks like Ancelotti may be out the running with more reports coming out of Spain this morning:
-
There was an Everton player scored 60 goals in a league season back in the day, Dixie Dean. I'd say football is more demanding and physically more difficult these days tbh.
-
Don't think there's anything new that can be said about the lad's contribution and his goals won't be easy to replace but if we can get a suitable bid for his services, I think I'd move him on.

That's just a fallacy goalkeepers were every bit as good maybe better because most teams had a good man between the posts
-
Dessers is nearing 30 in all competitions which is good numbers but 25 should be the approx league goals target for a No.9 in our league. He has got better as the season has gone on, Id say he is first pick now when that wouldnt have been the case last Autumn. The sitters have dried up and he certainly doesnt look out of place in Europe although he can go 45 minutes unnoticed - he can then simply pop up with a goal at any time.
-
And goalies were pretty poor in those days don't forget. Also they could just barge them into the net.
-
Think of many he might score if he had a decent degree of balance and ball control it's easy to say he is the top scorer in Scotland but 17 goals isn't exactly in the numbers i would equate to a top striker in any league i remember Joe McBride rattling in 36 goals before christmas before he got injured now men like that were strikers

We should just pay for him to take a physiotherapy course, at least then he can earn some of his wage in the medical room, treating the other injured players -
Finally we will be able to afford to pay off Matondo's contract
-
In modern football, a striker has more to do than score goals. I'm hoping the new manager can bring some players in who score from other positions, plus Raskin has started chipping in more often. Being so reliant on one player to get goals has been part of our problems these past few seasons (particularly when he misses so many chances in big games).
-
Indeed! We should keep him regardless of the interests, who could we buy that gives us the amount of goals he provides for the price we paid for him or even receive for him?
-
That'll be why there are clubs queueing up to buy him, obviously.
-
I strongly agree! We should keep him as his desire and work rate each game is Phenomenal, As of lately with Raskin pushing up more and providing more assists in the box we could potentially see him with more goals than misses, as for the stick he receives Dessers just brushes it off and goes again excellent mentality others would find hard to deal with the pressure we fans give him.

Bad news: Hannover aren't going to take up the option to buy Matondo, so we'll be lumbered with him for another twelve months, unless we can find some other club daft enough to take him (he scored one goal in eight starts and was hampered with injuries over there). -
For all the flak that he takes, for all we moan and rant - his numbers are good. I know most would rather get rid, but I actually think he's worth keeping around, unless we were being offered decentish cash.
