  1. Ach, couldnae beat a bunch of cuckoo clock makers. Good game though. Ralston is dreadful. Mackenna is nearly as bad. Gunn’s not great.

  2. A few points: 1) The 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 countdown to kick offs is so American and cringeworthy. 2) Do people actually go to football matches and spend the whole time staring at the big screen, in case they appear? Weirdos. 3) Wearing a Glengarry hat at a football match immediately makes you a tosspot. 4) Scotland have been outsung by the Swiss despite totally outnumbering them - "no Scotland, no party"...my arse.

  3. Jings. 1-0, after a nice break. McTominay, allegedly. Looked like one of the Schweitzers lashed it high past his own ‘keeper. HANDY TIP. If you don’t want to listen to Squeallum McLeod, tune into one of the English stations. I don’t know who the commentator is but he mostly keeps quiet.

  4. A grand game of football between Croatia and Albania a draw was probably a fair result

  5. Fair point but modern journalism isn't really about digging to find facts - it's about getting clicks.

  6. A far better performance than the dreadful show they put on against the Germans don’t see what the bloke up front offer Adam .

  7. I hope Tierney's injury isn't serious.

  8. I am sitting in a bar in Sanxenxo, Galicia. The disinterested Spaniards are animated about Ralston's wayward pass into space and, the resulting Shaqiri strike into the top corner for the Switzerland equaliser. I inform them that Anthony has started six games furra Sellik last season and the collective perceived wisdom is that it would have been better if he had started seven. Angus Gunn has come in for criticism too. I suggested we should change at half time, Gunn to right back and Ralston in goal?

  9. The Swiss have noticed, they chase everything down the right.

  11. What makes you say that? The window only opened a few days ago and Danilo may be first choice, if no one better is brought in.

  13. After late night hope, the media throws some spanners ... Rangers are poised to head off interest from clubs in England and Italy to sign 21-year-old out-of-contract Aberdeen midfielder Connor Barron. (The Herald) Fenerbahce have made an enquiry to Bayern Munich about 20-year-old Germany youth winger Yusuf Kabadayi, who has been linked with Rangers. (Turkiyeyedair via Daily Record) New Besiktas head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst will make a move to sign 23-year-old Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz if Arthur Masuaku leaves the Turkish club during the summer window. (Turkiye Gazetesi via Glasgow Times) Rangers-linked 20-year-old midfielder Damian Garcia is poised to sign a contract extension with Penarol. (El Observador) Rangers' £1.7m signing of Hamza Igamane is not yet rubber-stamped and there are still some issues for the club to sort out with the 21-year-old striker's current club, FAR Rabat. (The Fourth Official) For a laugh ... Birmingham City are monitoring Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski, but Bologna are leading the way in the hunt for the 24-year-old North Macedonia international valued at £7m by the Scottish Premiership club. 16. Matchday 1 concludes with some high scores, with 6 Correct Scores gained in the POR-CZE match. @der Berliner leads the way, with myself a point back. There's then only a couple of points separating the rest. Our defending champion @Gonzo79 languishes in 16th place despite having the joint-second highest CR %.

  17. If true then it's always good to sign a promising Scottish player.

  18. Slick but careless. Austria not bad at all. From the games I’ve seen there’s only one really poor team in the tournament.

  19. I've always said the former Yugoslav countries are the best place to look for prospects. The Italian clubs tend to keep a keen eye on goings on in Serbia, so a lot of them end up in Serie A. Doesn't mean we can't have a look there though. Prso, Jelavic and Papac didn't do too badly.
