  1. The hysteria from a section of our support is depressing. It's the board's fault" - Lots online blaming the board for not fighting the charge, even though they don't have a clue whether they did or didn't. Not that it would have mattered anyway. UEFA can do what they want. The board can't be blamed for UEFA's decisions. "It's not racist" - nobody has said that it was. "racist and/or discriminatory". 'Or' being the important word here. "Free speech is gone" - sigh. What a crap argument. You can make the argument but just not at at a UEFA match. They have their rules. If they had said "coherent speech is gone" then I'd have more sympathy. "Support the fans" - which fans are these? The ones who didn't want the banner or the ones that did? Just support the fans that you personally agree with? Another crap argument.

  2. We kept Morelos, Kent, Goldson, Aribo, Kamara, etc. long after their peak value. How much did we win? We're still counting the cost. We need to get the player trading model working.

  3. I'd rather keep him too, but its unlikely he will want to stay. He will want a bigger league and wage. We cant give him either. We need to get out of this mindset of being scared to let players go because we cant replace them. Its held us back for years now.

  4. And the more we're able to sell players for big money, the more attractive we become for other players as they'll see us as a pathway to a top 5/top 2 league team.

  5. It is long overdue that the club is taking action on the morons of the UB's who carry out these actions, although it will oviously dampen the atmosphere at games they should be disbanded by the club.

  6. Club Statement | Rangers Football Club RANGERS notes the outcome of the UEFA disciplinary case, and the respective sanctions imposed upon the club for several issues at the recent Ibrox match with Fenerbahce. Most notably, the club has been served with a suspended closure of the Copland Stand should there be any repeat of racist and/or discriminatory behaviour within the next two years. This punishment must serve as a severe and significant reminder to the small minority of supporters who bring the name of Rangers into disrepute. Any repeat of any discriminatory behaviour (and this also includes the singing of illicit songs) may result in the famed ‘Rangers end’ of our home being closed for a UEFA match. Not only will the reputation and finances of the club be harmed by such a punishment, but the chances of the team in a potentially key European match will also suffer enormously, while thousands of innocent fans will be unable to attend a massive fixture. In response to the displaying of the racist and/or discriminatory banner at the Fenerbahce game, the club can confirm that it is in the process of issuing lifetime bans to the individuals responsible. Further, following the use of pyrotechnics at Parkhead in the Old Firm game, the club can confirm the groups responsible for their discharge will be directly impacted by the 500 ticket reduction issued as a sanction the next time the club appears in the latter stages of the Premier Sports Cup at Hampden. The club again stresses a future use of pyrotechnics at any SPFL match may lead to a further reduction of 800 tickets at a latter-stage Premier Sports Cup match. The strongest asset this football club has is our support, and the club knows the overwhelming majority of our supporters will be angered by these episodes and the consequences they have for the club and its supporters. We reiterate our call for all supporters to back the team in the correct manner, and to challenge those who seek to further damage the good name of Rangers.

  9. Agreed, but this sorry episode and others could have been avoided if the board had acted a lot earlier, instead the club gave these moron free range to do what they liked. Better late than never I suppose.

  11. But that's the whole point. We should have sold Morelos when Lille asked, he was a far better player than the one we signed from Finland. But he went for feck all, and you're then left trying to replace him without the healthy fee in your hip pocket. We have to sell when a players stock is high*, and trust our recruitment to go again. * and players look for their next move when they're in a strong position too.

  12. There is a big difference between the £1M Nico and the player we have now. Were we to replace him with another £1m player it sets the team back again, then we don't win, then we sack another manager, then we blame the the new board...etc...etc. We need to keep the winners if we want to keep our boot on the throat of smeltic.

  13. Wonderful footballer. Gordon Smith is my preference as indeed would be Willie Henderson.

  14. I think he’s lost a bit of pace and I don’t think Tierney is the same player who left Celtic he’s lost a bit as well

  15. I was going to say “and losing ground to the field” but if he looks back he’ll see that the field such as it is, is about two furlongs behind.

  16. I think Robertson has reached that point in his career were he's turned Tatenham corner and started the downhill run to the finish line.

  17. I find it strange that the question is even being asked of an interim manager who has lost 100% of his games at Ibrox.
