Serious question - why do you hate Arsenal so much Jon ? Glad Liverpool won to break that record. Also helps Man U & Arsenal back into things (as I still think Pool are more likely to drop points than Chelsea). Liverpool are definite contenders this year if they can keep their run of luck going.

I only say it from experience !! With a couple of wins you get that feeling of invincibility..... and get carried away.... couple of losses and start chasing..... blah blah blah !! Good work this week though man !

If Boyd keeps improving his overall contribution - yesterday, as it stands, is a one-off (until he shows it on a consistent basis) then I think he DESERVES a chance against the better teams. His hold-up play, linking the midfield, passing (for the most part), aggression and willingness to defend from the front yesterday were very impressive, to the extent that I felt that he actually COULD play the lone striker role. His mobility is not the greatest and he has no pace - but if he can hold the ball up and play the wingers in, then get himself in position for the return ball into the box, then he could be that person to play that role. But you know what ? Why should we go away to ANY SPL team and not play 4-4-2 ? We should be confident of using a 4-4-2 at all times in the SPL and still beating everyone else.

OK, now we agree I think I will change my opinion on my MOTM. I originally said Broadfoot but think Boyd deserves it not just for his goals but his overall contribution. Playing like that Boyd would never be out of the team if fit. Broadfoot, with each passing game, eases the pain of losing Hutton. Will never be as dynamic as Hutton but he doesnt lack passion or determination. Has a great engine like Hutton and tries very hard to support his attack and yet always seems to be there at the back to defend. Would be good to see him get a run at his preferred CB position but the way he is playing right now we can't afford to move him from RB, he is playing THAT well. Easily the most improved player in the Gers ranks and he should be one of those role models that every young player looks to on how to take "limited ability" and create what looks to be a very promising career for themselves. -

Whilst I agree with Ricky too - it has to be said that it was one single solitary person who, having watched his team get pumped, decided that he had to get retribution some way and thought that by trying to cast Rangers as the big bad bigots would be the right way to go about it. It is not just the journos that caused this - some self-righteous, small-minded, offended, childish person created the hassle surrounding the famine song. Other songs ? I am sure it was a mixture of journos and fans. It kills the banter and that is a crying shame - but the problems dont lie solely at the journalists feet. -

Not often I disagree with you S_A but to suggest that Boyd was the only one deserving of praise yesterday would, IMO, be criminal to Broadfoot who once again showed that he is a first choice player right now. -

Did it at Rugby Park - not a pleasant experience. There was a bunch of us but scattered around the stadium. We scored - Killie fans start a fight, Gers fans kicked out - I was sat on my hands as it was the only way I could stop myself cheering !

Was about to say the same - 500 quid for a guy that makes thousands a week - that is loose change to him. Did the Utd keeper have any previous ? If not then surely Boruc's previous should have meant a higher fine?

I was going to do a piece to compare and contrast the benefits, or otherwise, of spending significant sums on young players (with our spending on Lafferty and Edu etc as the comparison) It seems that, for the most part, Wenger does it incredibly well. I remember Arsenal paying 12 mill for him (5 mill up front and potentially 12 in total IIRC) and thinking "Wenger is crazy, he has hardly played for Saints and there is no way he is worth that". Seems that the way Walcott is playing (and given his goalscoring exploits for club and country that Arsenal could probably get in excess of 20 mill for him right now). Ramsey looked the part too and a very accomplished finish. They looked very good but, in saying that, the Fenerbahce defence were awful.

You might weed out the more easily offended by taking out the word "fuck"..... but you may get some gays, like Jon :fish:, tuning in thanks to using the word "bugger". Just kidding. I agree, fuck is so emotive that at times it really does emphasize the point. But for the sake of the readers a toned down word is best.

I think that Papac would be poor at CB Jon. No pace and can get caught out at times. He looks to me like he is now more of a natural LB than a CB despite being bought as CB.

Fergie looks in great shape (in a non-gay way of course !!). Great to see Stevie Smith at LB. Please please please do not tell me that WS is seriously considering McCulloch as a potential CB for the first team !! Re Sky+ - what time is it on Rangers TV ? Might need to tape it on the Slingbox myself (Gribz, you really need to get that !!).
