I would rather we went for the creative midfielder first - I think our SPL challenge faltered more because of a lack of creativity than any deficiencies in the RB position.

You tried to compare him to Mojo, and you used Mojo's exploits for Rangers in that comparison (or inferred it, in my view). That being the case you have to give Miller the same chance when he plays for Rangers THIS time around - it is a different team this time around. So if you are using Mojo playing for Celtic and then Rangers as a comparison then you surely have to give Miller the chance to play for Celtic then Rangers too. I am not saying he is capable of doing anything this time around, I was playing devil's advocate. Perhaps you should read my posts without the blinkers on. I am not saying they should retire at 30+ Pete - but their talent means that they likely will retire from the game which pays them at 35 or thereabouts - so during the time when they are using their best talent and most profitable one, why shouldn't they milk it financially ? It is their prerogative. I disagree too about the players ruining the game due to wage demands - it is the clubs financiers you need to look at - players will only get paid what clubs are prepared to pay them - so if Real Madrid or any other team are prepared to pay Ronaldo 230k a week is not his fault, it is theirs for offering it to him. I dont see what the issue is here - players DO have a right to seek out the best financial package available to them (when not under contract or when their current employers are prepared to let them leave) so why shouldnt they ? The same happens in all walks of life - many of us do the same thing every now and again, yet we think that there should be a rule for football players which is different for ourselves ? Not in my book - I think they are justly entitled to look out for themselves - clubs do not show hardly any player loyalty these days, so why should players show that same loyalty back to the club ?

I agree, I thought Gomis was outstanding against us in the 3-3 game and, at that time, wanted us to try to sign him. Also agree that I would like to see him playing LM - he has pace, touch, and skill. Could be a good buy.

I have as bet on teams qualifying out of the groups which is looking like a decent bet, thus far Have : Czech Republic to qualify - if they avoid defeat against Turkey today I think they go through. Croatia to qualify - already through Holland to qualify - already through Spain to win their group - already won I will be hoping for a Czech win today just to make sure of the cash - got 9/1 for that bet.

I am not so sure Pete. I have a sneaking suspicion that many Rangers supporters (not all obviously) are hiding behind the "he isn't good enough" argument but privately dont want him back because he played for the Tims and because of his badge pumping. I see what you are saying about the "traitor" comment - but this part I just don't get. If we had managed to get Larsson would we have wanted him to score for us and then just trot back to the centre circle and not celebrate ? I dont mind his wild celebrations in the least - to me it shows he WANTS to do well, regardless of the club he is playing for. I want our players to show pride and passion and it seems Miller has it. He isnt stupid either, he already knows he is not wanted - so he must have faith in himself doing the job to take it on - he is brave if nothing else. They shouldn't. They are there to win a tournament and should be looking out for themselves first. If that means resting important players as they are already through then so be it. The Italians and French only have themselves to blame as neither of them could beat the Dutch or the Romanians - they dug their own hole. Further, I can guarantee that if Italy or France were in the same position as Holland then they too would rest crucial players !

You are going over the top Pete. Smith inherited chaos when he got back to the club. He made us difficult to beat in his forst 6 months and then took us to the verge of an historic quadruple, including a UEFA final. Regardless of your feelings on Smith he has improved us as a club so I can't disagree more strongly with you that "bringing back Walter Smith never worked".

The time now is time to get behind Kenny Miller, behind Walter & Ally and SUPPORT the team. I don't think Kenny Miller is our answer - but you know what ? If he is played as Boyd's partner then I think goals will abound for us next season as he will create plenty of space for Boyd to bag plenty of goals. We have been lacking a bit of energy up front when JCD has been injured and Boyd will give us that back. Plus, JCD's finishing isnt the greatest either - KM will be similar player for us but probably without being injury prone. He could turn out to be a decent enough signing for us - but the fans need to support him - if the fans get on his back from the off then we are contributing to his failure - players, strikers especially, perform on confidence and if the fans get on his back straight away then confidence is one thing he wont get. Give him a chance !!

They could be out though. If Holland win tonight then they are through and will rest players - and the Dutch won't mind Romania putting out France & Italy - especially as they would meet again in the semis potentially !
