  1. I would rather let Barry Ferguson go for 4 million than Kevin Thomson. That isnt a dig at Fergie but rather how highly I rate KT. He is (hopefully) going to be the central focus of our midfield for years to come.
  2. Domestic I think
  3. We made money on him the first time round though - bought for 2 mill, sold for 3 mill.
  4. Will be interesting to see if they win their appeal. If they don't then I reckon that the runners-up will be treated as Champions and therefore gain automatic entry.
  5. If it puts the club in a better financial footing and makes it more attractive to potentioal buyers who will put more energy into it than SDM (of late, he was tireless in his Chairmanship infancy) then it may not be such a bad thing - short term pain for long term gain. Wishful thinking on my part..... Would much rather see us strengthen the team, win the league, do well in Europe and see potential buyers that way !
  6. I know two wrongs dont make a right but Shinawatra was also being dishonest with him when he gave him his targets for the season.
  7. In this situation I dont begrudge him it. He did everything Shinawatra wanted him to do in his first season, yet it was the worst kept secret in football that he was getting punted. Didn't deserve it so quite right to take Shinawatra's money and then walk right into a new job.
  8. Didnt take Sven long to hook himself up with a new job. Announced as Mexico boss.
  9. It needs to be a team with decent infrastructure from the get-go. So I would agree Re Spartans
  10. Annan wouldn't be a bad shout actually - yep, they are south.
  11. I am missing it I have to say - but being 3500 miles away and not being embroiled in it to the same extent as you guys there is still a freshness. Looking forward to Euro 08 and taping the games. Welcome aboard, you will enjoy it here I have no doubts !
  12. I woudl think a team from the South would be a good bet - it is semi-professional down there anyway and there would be enough fans to support a team I would think. I would love for a Junior team to get it..... if it were Auchinleck Talbot - but in fairness the best Junior team to get that from a stadium, funding and organisational perspective would likely be Pollok - but the last thing the Scottish leagues need is yet another Glasgow team
  13. Kyle Lafferty ??? That would only increase the backlash.... If they are looking to deflect the backlash then it has to be relatively high profile - but who ?
  14. Maybe, but we will play him in midfield :fish:
  15. No disrespect to Kenny Miller - but I seriously hope this is not Martin Bain's idea of us recruiting "quality". I would much prefer us getting someone else.... that said, if he DOES wear the Gers jersey next season he will receive my full backing. I don't care about the crest-pumping, playing for the Tims etc etc - it is the ability that counts and I just dont think he can cut it. Hope to be proved wrong.
  16. I actually like the look of that Gribz - the problem would be that Fergie would want to be the central point of focus in that midfield 3 and Thomson is very left sided, which would leave them unbalanced.
  17. Understood Frankie. Hopefully the Trust will at least elaborate somewhat on why there are a plethora of resignations - even if just to put positive spin on it. At the moment the lack of information is something we would attribute to the club historically, not the Trust.
  18. Is there something untoward at the RST Frankie, or difference of opinions ? Something can't be quite right with the plethora of resignations recently. I could see yours being down to family commitments (not saying it is but it is plausible) - but far too coincidental for so many resignations in such a short space of time.
  19. You are the nurse, you will be doing the hard-core with him Juffers. Seriously though, I think he has been molly-coddled enough - and even an extended stay at one of these plush clinics will merely seem like a hotel to him (which is what he is used to anwyay). Get him in the psych ward with nothing but therapy - I fear it may be the last attempt.
  20. Just what I was about to say. I don't necessarily disagree with you Gribz - but in Gazza's instance he has been in those places a number of times and they clearly havent worked for him. Time to take him hard-core in my opinion.
  21. This is a strange one as Riise's wages will be high. Very good signing IMO but where does he play ? I would rather stick with a fully fit Stevie Smith (if he ever gets fully fit.....) and in LM we have Beasley and McCulloch, although I think I might prefer Riise to either. Difficult one even if he is a very good player.
  22. I agree with Juff. Perhaps putting him in amongst everyday people suffering from the same type illness will jump-start him into realising how hard he has fallen. Putting him nice comfy surroundings, regardless of how long he is there, will merely make it feel like a hotel visit !
  23. Apparently the paper talk yesterday was that both us and Celtic wanted Maloney. Decent signing but is he the best we could get for 3.5 mill ? As Mike says, if Celtic are in the running the chances are he would go there first.
  24. For me Charlie Adam is far too slow and cumbersome to be playing through the middle of midfield, even if it is his natural position. IMO if we have to rely on him in there then we need to strengthen that position with a signing. If he can get a good pre-season and gain some pace then perhaps - but he also is prone to losing the ball to easily and that can be costly from any position but more so in the engine room.

    Kris Boyd

I can see that being part of the reason Miller is being touted to be honest. Sad thing is that those pair together won't strike fear into many teams. Surely there has to be better options than Kenny Miller for a striking partner for Boyd even if the other player has to do the grafting.
