That 1st one is AWFUL. Jon, you said you had high standards, not in footy wear you dont. The 2nd one actually looks a bit uninspiring if if is just horizontal blocks too.

But the management team of Rangers are not here to "try" players so the support can get a clearer opinion on them :fish: - their job is one of winning games with the players they think will get the job done. They didn't seem to think Gow was one of those players. I would personally have liked to have give him a chance to be honest though.

Is this thread not supposed to be about a possible takeover of Newcastle ???

Atta boy Jon !

What does wearing a hooped polo shirt have to do with anything ? How ridiculous we have become when the guy is wearing a casual top and is pounced on as if he has allegiances to our friends from the East side. I always thought is was THEM that had this kind of complaint and that we were above it..... perhaps not. With that type of attitude he is NEVER going to win over some fans regardless of performance.

UCF - are you an RST member ? If so you should consider putting yourself forth to be elected to the Board - that way you would get more, possibly, of a say in how the RST tackle all these issues which you believe they have been ineffective in doing so thus far.

Am liking the BF one (the B&W one) with some legends in the far corner. Cracking work !

Do Villa need an RB ? I think that is a good deal for Pompey getting Crouch for 11 mill although his wages are huge. Unreal ! Just shows how SKY money has widened the gap when teams like Pompey can pay almost 3 times what our top earner gets !

Agreed and that is where I felt we came unstuck last year. The 4-5-1/4-3-3 worked well when you had proper wingers who could damage defences - it was no surprise that we were at our best with Beasley and Novo/Burke playing the wings as they were proper wingers. With Adam and Whittaker it is definitely more of a 4-5-1 with very little support for the striker.

Hemdani is still a quality player but, as has been said, with BF and KT he is surplus to requirements - although, that said you do need back-up for each position - the problem is will he want to be just back-up ? BF won't get dropped and I prefer KT in the middle than BH. I also agree that we need a more creative/flair midfielder rather than another holding mid. I actually think that BF and KT should be COMPETING for one position whilst a creative mid is brought in beside to add flair.

It can still be done - the Revenue would force you to pay tax though based on a true market value. If the club owned the Albion and included a 1 quid sale on its tax return then that could be construed as tax evasion (not good). However, what would more than likely be the case is that the tax accountants for the club would include an arms length market value as the "sales price" which means the Revenue get their share.... That is a simplistic approach, there are other ways that these things work too.

The only way I would see it as a problem (the family buying the club that is) is if the funds being used were "dirty money" - then it would be a problem. Otherwise I have no problem with it. Regardless of conspiracy theories (and you are RIGHT about Dubai Gribz - but I think that was before 09/11) Bin Laden has himself admitted to some attacks, not just hos cohorts.

Welcome to one and all !

Yikes.... I must be clairvoyant or something !

Agreed Re McDonald. Do you mean Scott Brown ? If you do then SDM said that the fee wasnt the problem, it was the wage that was the problem - SDM wouldn't break the new wage structure for him. Huntelaar would have been a fantastic addition.

The one thing I know is that under the guidance of the above members the RST made great strides. I would support them should they try to resurrect the phoenix from the ashes. Such a shame that the "militant" group felt differently or had personal agendas. Progress was being made and the RST was being seen as a professional body in the eyes of many (not just supporters but the press too) - all of that has been imploded.
-
If you read the statement from the RST resigned members then SDM had nothing to do with the demise of RST (though I am sure he isnt too upset about it.......) - rather it was a power struggle and certain people being egotistical as to their own perceived importance. Shame really as the RST WAS (definitely past tense) doing some sterling work. Shame on those who caused its demise too.

I personally give Jon abuse because of the constant repetitiveness of discussing Boyd, not because I am a detractor of said player - he needs thr right formation and if given it he will score a bucketload. I hope that the poster you are referring to isn't me S_A.....

Murray's Ibrox facelift must mirror the ambitions and hopes of Rangers fans
craig replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
To be fair Re Murray Park Wija.... that wasn't Murray's decision to name it - IIRC Advocaat requested the board name it Murray Park so I think that Murray Park was planned prior to anyone knowing it would be called Murray Park. -
That will be a first for you when it comes to Boyd !

You been taking up my sarcastic posts and turning them into fact ? My cousin does live next door to him (for now.... he is buying a house in Alloway apparently - bit of a story to that too !) but it isnt the milkman that cancelled his orders - it was his daily pizza hut delivery guy !

I stand corrected oh mighty one:notworthy:

So by nipping it in the bud they potentially watch a player get 350k a year without paying him off, even if to the tune of 100k ? That would be very bad fiscal management IMO. If SDM is sick of doing it then he should not pay over the top wages to fringe players who then won't take a step down - I understand getting players to come to the SPL is an issue but Gow was a supporter and WANTED to be at Ibrox - so who made the mistake there ? I dont thin Gow is "squeezing" anything out of Rangers - he has a contract which pays him handsomely - he has not been given games so looks like he is surplus to rewquirements - he knows he can sit fast and make decent money - he is being deemed expendible by the club but has a contract with said club - he is being a businessman effectively - and I dont blame him.
-
So does this still make Gow greedy for asking for 100k to leave Rangers ? Gers paid nothing for him, get a fee of 250k for him after he just languished in the reserves. Surely if we are getting 250k profit from him then he should get a chunk of that to leave ? If he was on, say, 7k a week then he got paid about 350k for the year just past. If we then pay him a 100k termination fee (lets not forget that he could just sit around at Ibrox with his 7k a week - so a termination fee is mutually beneficial !) that takes the total cost for him to 450k. We get 250k back, leaving Rangers net out of pocket of 200k, or 4k a week. Personally in this day and age I dont think 4k a week is a bad salary for any player (from both player and club perspective). He gets 100k and gets on with his career, Rangers get to bank 150k for a player that cost nothing and also free up the next 3 years of his wages. Personally I think it is a win-win situation.

I don't think there would be a transfer fee though Pete - I read that his deal is a one year deal - so he is hoping to prove himself in the team for a year, play well and get himself a deal elsewhere - and with no transfer fee involved he would get a HUGE signing on fee (IF he proves himself)
