Funnily enough in Paris next week.... we get there on Wed 30th July and come back on Tues Aug 5. Have a couple of tours organised which should be nice.
-
Cheers mate. Went out for a run this morning (am in Edinburgh right now) and the cold really got into my lungs - felt worse than running in the heat in Bermuda ! Aye, I was only supposed to be doing Scotland and Paris but the company wanted me to go to Board meetings in Switz so the trip ended up being 10 days longer than expected !
-
Been in Lucerne (Switzerland) for a week at Board meetings Gribz. Now in Scotland for 5 day break, then Paris for 6 days and then another week in Scotland. It has been good getting a break from all your pish talk too Gribzy Just kidding my man.

The only downside with Centrebet is that it is a shite betting website. I have had an account for a while - I have got that same deal with them twice before (once for me and once for wife) - good deal. But the website itself is poor for accumulator bets - although if you only use it for that one bet then it makes no difference

Exactly, so if it is hardly proof positive then why do you go onto suggest that Pete listens more and talks less ? You seem to have that air of confidence about you that says everyone should listen to you - thanks but no thanks from this bear. It also isnt demonstrating anything about a fan and "feigning loyalty" - it is demonstrating a need for you to point out semantics though. Ohh.... and it doesn't necessarily mean that Pete got the words wrong either - perhaps he doesn't check his posts with a fine tooth comb before hitting the "reply" button.

Nah, the official line Re Hutton was always "from a football sense we would love to keep him" which, when translated meant "but we want the cash so he is being sold".
-
You really ARE stalking the team this year eh Pete ? Pete, take a wee sign for Boyd for him to hold up that reads "Jon, I love you too"..... Enjoy the game and the atmosphere my man, hopefully the result too !
-
And you think that you booing will hound him out ? I wouldn't flatter yourself. If you don't think that Miller already knew the consequences of his re-signing then you are mistaken. The only way the booing will hound him out will be if his performances are so poor and his confidence takes such a jolt - but that somehow will benefit the team ? OK, if you say so. WS will stick with KM this season, I have no doubts - so we all better get used to seeing KM in blue again. How do you equate "reputation" with being embarrassed about being a Gers fan - I don't understand that.
-
I do agree that WS seems to have brought in a large squad but there doesn't seem to be strength in depth. I still think we need a RM (we are playing people out of position there), an AM (we have little creativity) and if Whittaker isnt going to be used at RB then one of those too - we may also need an LB if Smith isn't going to be fit. CB is another position although I would hope that Webster proves his fitness and Weir deputises. We do need STARTERS though - the strong squad was there last season as uit was, although not utilised properly IMO.
-
I agree Re history - my point was that you can make statistics prove whatever you want them to.
-
5 mill PLUS Boyd or just a straight 5 mill ? :fish:
-
I see Jon hasnt responded - he will either be out buying a Cardiff top or is on suicide watch.
-
Sadly that is correct Pete. Or.... to use statistics.... we won more trophies than they did last season.....
-
But therein lies the problem Pete - you can use statistics to prove whatever you want - 1 year, 2 years, 5, 10, 20, 40 - how about 135 years - and we are world record holders for trophies over that period. My point being, statistics don't mean that great a deal - it is all about the present.
-
Only if you buy it - which I will be !!

Good sign for Fleck I assume you mean ? Not such a good sign for other youngsters such as Furman and Lennon. I am not a basher of WS and his testing of young players to be honest and, if he thinks Fleck is the only one worthy of being in the pre-season squad then so be it. Hopefully Fleck will get a chance to shine this season but I would also like to see Furman too - when he made a subs appearance against Dundee Utd he seemed to have the drive and energy which we lacked at times last season (he is certainly green regarding positional sense - but he showed lots of signs of potential. Couldn't comment on Lennon as I havent seen much of him. In other news...... we are in talks with Watford over Shittu - yet ANOTHER CB - how many do we need ? Perhaps the formation next season really will be 5-0-5 - http://www.sportinglife.com/football/scottishpremier/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/08/07/12/manual_121709.html&TEAMHD=scotspremiership

TBH I have no idea. I havent looked at the squads of the bigger clubs so couldn't even muster a suggestion.
-
Not sure SAF would want Fletcher playing in the CL in case he needs him (however unlikely that would be). But is he the attacking mid we need even if on loan ? Surely we could find a loan player even better than him ?
-
You will lose twice then !
-
You mean like Rafa did at the back end of last season ? Must make Liverpool wankers too then eh ? I think we have done this one to death - just as long as you pay up on your bet this season - MON THE GOONERS !!!!
-
I had a feeling that Miller was bought with the intent on him partnering Boyd up front. Miller doing all the donkey work and Boyd sticking it in the net may just work. However, I still feel for a striker that Miller needs to increase his scoring ratio.

Who said Boyd would be great in a 4-4-2 ? He WILL score goals for fun in a 4-4-2, doesn't mean he will be great though. On his other contribution to the team we agree, he doesn't bring much. Another thing you mention is him losing the ball and being dangerous to the defence - with a 4-5-1 if him losing the ball is dangerous then shame on the 5 in midfield who could be covering. And, in fact, that is one aspect of his game which I felt was improving.... NOT huim losing the ball but in him showing a desire to put defenders under pressure after he DID lose the ball. I disagree about good modern day strikers dropping into the midfield - I don't think they are necessary strikers, they are players who can score goals but are equally adept at creating - Rooney does it very well for Man U, but can we really get that type of player at Ibrox ? Adebayor doesn't drop deep much for Arsenal so we shouldn't want him at Ibrox as he just scores goals too ? Most of Torres' good work is inside the box too (although he is more than just a penalty box striker) so we shouldn't want him either ? As johnny said, if we had other players capable of giving us 15 goals a season then Boyd wouldn't be a big miss - can you name any of our current squad who can give us 15 a season outside of Boyd, JCD (if fit) and Cousin (if interested) ? Can you name a player in our squad who can score PLUS create a total of 25 goals a season (I agree with you that TOTAL goals - scored plus assists - is as important, if not more so, than just scoring) ? I can't. All I am saying is that Boyd WILL score goals in the SPL if deployed in a 4-4-2 - he could even do so in a 4-5-1 IF we played the ball on the deck and used proper wingers. The high punt up front will NEVER suit Boyd - playing the ball on the deck to wingers who can beat a man and get the ball in the box would suit Boyd perfectly IMO.

Maybe I will answer that when you say why everyone to do with Arsenal are in YOUR eyes.... Ever heard Carragher whingeing and moaning about not getting selected for England ?
-
Didn't realise that having a CL medal means you aren't a wanker Jon
-
Your post count must be in the thousands for just your anti-Arsenal posts. Then another 5,000 posts on Boyd - no wonder you have so many posts on here. Aye, and Carragher isn't a wanker eh Jon ? He is a whinging faced little toss pot. You make me dislike Liverpool, shame really.
