I think the Cousin deal has fallen through and would need to be renegotiated. If you can believe what Cousin's agent said (and who would believe a word from that vermin's mouth ?) then Cousin had already decided he wanted to stay at Gers which would suggest that he isnt keen on Fulham at all - and if they get relegated then he definitely wont want to go to them. There weren't too many other suitors for him so we are in a good position in that if he still wants away he will have to perform to a high standard until the end of the season. And if he doesnt want away then we have a quality player at our disposal.
  2. Me ? Ickle old me ? Nah......
  3. I am not the one seeing things that arent there old boy !
  4. But you don't looka good few years younger..... so it must still feel bad then :fish: Blind fool...
  5. Are you bloody blind ? Where is Klos OR Goram in Gribz's options ? Age has caught up with you old man.....
  6. Dont think so.... they beat Hibs 2-0 did they not ? :fish: He sold a goal against ICT in midweek though.
  7. When I did the match preview yesterday I said we would beat the sheep 3-1. Was that knowledge ? Nope, was an educated guess. In footy there really is no such thing as knowledge.
  8. You aren't blonde though
  9. Nice work Del !! Great finish by Dailly, great movement by Adam for his goal (as well as a good finish) and Boyd's follow up was a tidy finish too.
  10. Hey... a win IS a win Gazza my man - makes up slightly for some of the junk I gave you last week.
  11. You should all have bet that horse I gave out earlier, won at 3/1.... I was supposed to put 300 each way on it - but never... NUTS

  14. See, I have you fooled Jon - even when I talk sense it is bullshit ! :fish:
  15. You dont believe I am capable of bullshit ?
  16. I make up 90% of what I do, maybe 95%. As long as I can bullshit my way through no one will notice. Hasnt failed me yet !
  17. What.... aside from the fact that Berwick has a "B" in it.... yeah I think he might have been wrong....
  18. It wouldnt be a change in accounting policy then if they had always been capitalised but the amortisation was merely "accelerated" - they just changed the duration of the amortisation, not a change in policy per se, just a change in the "asset's" life. If they went from being a direct hit on income and went to a capitalisation policy then that obviously IS a change in accounting policy
  19. Dont know for sure but remember either Lawell or Quinn making a statement that their players contracts were more performance based than in the past
  20. What WOULD make a difference though is having contracts which are structured more towards performance based. You play and you get paid, you dont play you get paid less. You perform well, the team wins, you get paid more. The Tims have done this and it actually motivates players to perform to their highest level - you may not get the desired performance but you likely WILL get the desired endeavour !
  21. I dont have the time to delve the depths but at one time I am sure the costs were directly taken to the P&L. That being the case there would have been a change in accounting policies which would have had to have been disclosedin the notes to the financials in the year in which the change occured. I don't doubt you though Bluedell, I just don't have the time to trawl through. I think that We could probably go back to Advocaat's era to see the change - the likelihood is that we changed the policy to capitalisation and amortisation when SDM realised the financial state of the club was in the shitter - so to capitalise means to basically defer the cost (no direct hit to the P&L each year). Which would also defer the negative numbers in the P&L. Having said all that, most other teams recognise their players as assets so capitalise and amortise, would make sense that we do too
  22. BlueDell, Are you sure that the cost of players is not a direct hit to the P&L ? I am sure I read a number of years ago Murray stating that Rangers financials were different to other clubs as we expensed the cost of players immediately (i.e. we did not capitalise a players value as we took the conservative approach that would not sell the players on but they would leave at the end of contracts). I am sure I read that ! Or has there been a change in accounting policies ?
  23. very subtle and well masked.
  24. The tricky thing with Ferguson is that we need to be maintaining our 4 point lead at the moment and when we DID drop him (or rest him...) we got pumped. Do we risk dropping him and getting beat ? We havent lost in the league since October with him in the team. Could it be that even not playing well he brings out the best in others ? Could it be that we expect so much more from him yet even his mediocre displays are better than most in the SPL ? I hate players being automatic picks as they arent as motivated - but at this stage of the season it is very difficult for the manager to simply drop your most influential player to bring in someone who is untried, untested, hasnt played or who you simply dont trust. One thing for sure is that WS is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt with Ferguson - if he doesnt drop him and we lose points it will be WS' fault for not dropping BF. If we drop him and we lose points it will again be WS' fault for dropping him. The only situation that WS wins in is if Gers keep winning (lets hope..) - and I just cant see him dropping BF when we havent been defeated in the league for so long !
  25. But surely battling boredom and demons all comes back to his own mental strength. At the end of the day Gav, he can only help himself. The experts have tried on multiple occasions and failed which only leaves one person left that can save him - and that is Gazza himself. Yes it is easy to come on and post these things - it doesnt mean we dont have compassion, quite the opposite in my case - but the reality is that the experts have tried and failed so what is left ? I thankfully dont have an addiction (maybe gambling, but am in control of that... for now) but my Mum was a smoker for over 40 years and last summer went cold turkey and hasnt had a puff since so I know 2nd hand at least what it is like, albeit a different addiction. Yes it is incredibly difficult but, again, it merely proves (to me at least) that you have to have mental toughness to come through it and you need to do it yourself (with assistance is fine but it needs to be a mental change in the person).
