  1. Well I just submitted a complaint about it. Utterly appalling behaviour from whoever was the person that created the filename of the picture that accompanies this article. So whomever decided to save this picture with the filename of "_42528947_kevincuntthomson203" either thinks that Rangers' new signing, Kevin Thomson, has a middle name of "cunt" or the person who saved the file has a very anti-Rangers bias. I would hope, but certainly not expect, that action would be taken against said person. The bbc is supposed to be a neutral, unbiased reporting agency - it loses credibility through moronic actions as seen above. This is completely unprofessional behaviour and something which the bbc, nor any self-respecting individual, should condone. Yours in disgust
  2. Pete, you should actually send that to the beeb with a complaint !
  3. Surely it wouldn't be hard to spot that ugly mug ?
  4. Even if they DID pip us to the signing of him, we still lead 2-1 - or is that little bitter tosser forgetting that only the day before we pipped THEM to Thomson ?? Actually when you think about it, according to rumour, the 2 circumstances are exactly the same, as follows 1. They bid for Thomson. 2. Their bid was rejected. 3. We bid for Thomson. 4. Our bid accepted. 5. Thomson signs. 6. Thomson says for years he wanted to play for RANGERS. Now, apply Hartley's name to the above, ala.... 1. We bid for Hartley. 2. Our bid was rejected. 3. They bid for Hartley. 4. Their bid accepted. 5. Hartley signs. 6. Hartley says for Celtic were the only team for him. NOT ONE difference in either scenario..... except we get a younger player with much more upside !
  5. Does that surprise you ? I am not surprised by that at all.
  6. McEveley has been awesome........ in Footy Manager ! McGregor is likely in both because he probably won't play for the A squad and Eck will want him to play in at least one game, I assume......
  7. In which case any chance of starting a JONC BETTING COUNSELLING THREAD ?
  8. Brown or a striker (aside from Gow) would have been nice - oh well, not too dissappointed overall.... Weir and Ehiogu strengthen the defence, Thomson is an excellent addition in midfield and Webster if he is fit will be a nice addition too.
  9. 200k isn't much - surely we should now look to bid that amount. Also shows Hughes was trying to screw us for more cash - tosser
  10. Up yer ar$e - I learned how to copy and paste last week and it is now my favourite hobby ! As I said earlier buba, even if we matched their bid he would go to them as he is a supporter. Re the CL, they can also guarantee it for him for next season which, sadly, at this point in time we still can't, not even for 2nd spot - although I am much more hopeful after our transfer window dealings. I am not too dissappointed at losing out to Hartley as I think we still have a chance of getting Brown in the summer - and both he and Thomson have much more upside than Hartley - Hartley will be 31 by the time next season rolls around whilst Brown and Thomson will be 22 and 23. They have MUCH more upside than Hartley.
  11. Hopefully Brown will be too then !
  12. Knickers in a twist buba ? You are taking a stab at someone who posted the same thing you did......
  13. New Rangers signing Kevin Thomson claimed the thought of staying at Hibernian under manager John Collins made him feel "physically sick." Despite being widely tipped to move to Celtic along with Hibs team-mate Scott Brown, the 22-year-old midfielder completed his move from Easter Road to the Ibrox side on Tuesday night. Thomson signed a contract that will keep him at Rangers until 2011 for a fee reported to be worth £2million to the Leith club. And the player told the Daily Record that he was glad to to get away. He said: "I was stripped of the captaincy and treated very poorly by the manager who seemed to have lost all faith in me. "I can't explain how bad that made me feel and the thought of staying there for another four months was making me feel physically sick. "It's well known the gaffer and I didn't see eye to eye. "I'm not going to act like a silly wee kid and starting shouting my mouth off about it now that I'm gone. "I will walk back into Easter Road and pick up my stuff and wish him all the best. "Hopefully he will be good enough to return those best wishes." Thomson was quoted earlier in the month as claiming the Hoops were his preferred destination. But the midfielder said: "The truth is I let my agent (Willie McKay) handle that side of things. "I believed he was acting in my best interest because he had told me Rangers didn't want me and Celtic were the only club who wanted to sign me. "I don't want to get dragged into details or get caught up in a row about this but I do want Rangers fans to know that for years this is the club I wanted to be at. "This has been without question the biggest day of my life. "I still can't really believe that this has happened." Very interesting comments from Thomson which would tend to back up what Mike had copied over from FF. Also good to see that Thomson says that for years Rangers were the club he wanted to be at ! I like to see that from new signings !
  14. Aye, right !!! We basically saw you post....... Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Hartley to Gers Hartley to Celtic Although I think you might have said both of the above more times than I have pasted them ! Given it was likely he was going to sign for one or the other you hardly were sticking your neck out !! You were basically betting on a coin flip being either heads or tails - pretty likely is it not ? I know NOTto trust your rumours buba........
  15. Saw that just now juff - lying tosspots ! Changing it to look like it never had mentioned us trying to sign him ! You should read some of the 606 blogs. Someone says they just saw Maloney and Hartley leaving MP with McCoist...... not long till silly season is over.
  16. So looks like he will be heading to them then ? I couldn't see how we could fit all those central midfielders in the team anyway, even though I would have liked to have seen him at Ibrox. It also smacks of a panic buy from them, partly to appease the fans I would think. They already have the league sewn up so by the time he makes a telling impact he likely will be 31 and with just a couple of years left, so paying over 1 mill is not necessarily good business. I would prefer brown to be honest, but that one looks unlikely now (Brown's comment about Thomson moving to Rangers was quite interesting though... "I am very pleased for Thommo and would have loved to be in that car along with him" - seems that Willie McLies was feeding shite to the press about them only wanting to play for Celtic !)
  17. What exactly was the elvis affair ? Hearts wanted him out, simple as - and they knew he would leave for nothing, again simple as. What is there for Hearts to screw Celtic over ? Hearts didn't want him anyway !
  18. But if buba's source that he is now having a medical at Parkhead that would suggest that they are as close to agreeing a fee as we are. And if that is the case he will go there as being a fan would tempt him more than playing for their fiercest rivals (unless we are offering much more money than they are for his wages, which I doubt)
  19. Even if we match their offer (assuming this report is accurate) then he will go to them as he is a Tic fan
  20. I pointed out the numer of defenders early in this thread - seems ridiculous to me to have that many defenders. I do take your points Re the rest but we will really see his true selection when he names his squad for the Georgia game. Perhaps he is leaving some of those guys out as he knows what they bring. Perhaps, but perhaps not. I am not defending him but friendly squads are often different to competitive squads. I will still give him the benefit of the doubt until we see the squad for the Georgia game
  21. Just heard from a Jambo friend that Hartley is going to Celtic. Not sure how accurate that is though !
  22. Riordan is barely getting a game at club level. How many of these players were selected in WS squads ?
  23. Where is WS going to fit all these guys into his team ? He will now have Ferguson, Thomson, Hemdani and Hartley all vying for 2 places in the team (assuming he will play them in their natural CM roles). This has to be the strongest midfield we have had for some time though and it is good to have so many quality midfielders in the squad. I like the signing of Hartley - creative, great at set pieces, forces the other team to defend him. But where will they all play ? Would be nice to get Scott Brown too, and another striker would be welcomed - but I think our squad in this past week has strengthened considerably.
  24. Has Naismith been playing like that all season ? See, I don't see how you can use Naismith's performance last night as justification that Eck should have included him, especially as Eck's first squad was selected before Naismith got a hat-trick.
  25. You are just copying what I said I agree, I think Thomson is better in most, if not all, respects than Clement - and it looks like Thomson only really cost us about 200-400k if you consider he cost 2 mill while we got about 1.6 for Clement. Very good business IMO.
