It's also strange to think that if they only took account of away performances then Spurs would be top of the league by 4 points.

I get the feeling that the agreement reached does involve no compensation in return for the statement of no wrongdoing. Simpler and cheaper for the club to go down that route.

The Morelos rumour appears to have come from the Turkish Fotospor website. It looks a bit like a clickbait website but Turkish websites may differ from ours. The google translate version is: Galatasaray's proposal made by the name of a period called Fenerbahce Alfredo Morelos. For the young player, an offer was made that would force the Rangers to meet Galatasaray's requirements. -
Seems harsh, given his track record.

I'm not impressed by a player who is refusing to play for his club. It doesn't bode well for us if that's his attitude. Very unprofessional. -
From The Takeover Code: "When a person or group acquires interests in shares carrying 30% or more of the voting rights of a company, they must make a cash offer to all other shareholders at the highest price paid in the 12 months before the offer was announced."

Who can forget the events of Helicopter Sunday? One of the sweetest days ever to be a Rangers fan. Seeing Willie McKay's name mentioned in connection with the Sala plane tragedy reminded me of an article that I wrote for the FF fanzine in 2005, which was written before the second last game of the season and therefore before Helicopter Sunday, but it highlights why I believe Willie McKay, disliked by many Rangers fans, was integral to us winning the league that season and causing Celtic fans so much pain: I am writing this before the Motherwell game, when we still in with a shout of winning the league. One person who deserves a lot of credit for us being in this position in my opinion is Boumsong’s agent, the much-maligned Willie McKay. I have read many fans slagging him off following Boumsong’s departure in January but the version of events that I understand happened sheds a different light on things. I believe that it was Willie McKay who approached Rangers to offer Boumsong as a Bosman signing. It was not the other way around, however much the management team at Rangers would like to claim that it was. He gave Rangers a player on a plate who Rangers then sold for £8.5m, the proceeds of which were used to buy: Soti Kyrgiakos, a player who many believe is as much of an asset to the team as Boumsong was Barry Ferguson, who will the mainstay of our midfield for the next few years Thomas Buffel, who is starting to show his true form, and will hopefully improve even more next season. Boumsong in the first half of the season, and the 3 new players during the second half of the season have heavily contributed to the fact that we are 2 games away from the end of the season and still in with a shout of landing the championship. It was therefore entirely due to Willie McKay that we got Boumsong in the first place, and again due to him that we sold him to give us the cash to allow us to strengthen the squad further. Of course, the above may not be true, but I have no reason not to believe it, so Willie, I would like to offer my thanks to you, and the next time you have a bargain Bosman, please ignore all the bears who slag you off and give Mr Murray another call.

Clickbait. Hard to take anyone seriously if they work for the Record. -
Best not to risk Goldson on that pitch.

Statement from the Airdrie Supporters' Trust: TRUST STATEMENT – 21st January 2019 Re. INCIDENT AT CELTIC PARK 19TH January 2019 Following on from Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park, we wish to address the incident which occurred on the corner of London Road and Kinloch Street prior to the start of the match. Airdrie Supporters Trust had organised six family buses to take over 300 supporters, almost a third of which were under 16s, in a convenient and safe manner to the game. Arrangements were made for these and any other supporters buses going to be parked on Springfield Road with Celtic Football Club. On arrival at the game, the fans disembarked and walked onto London Road when they were stopped from proceeding along Kinloch Street by Police in attendance. No explanation was given for this happening. We were held here for around 15-20 minutes during which time a very unsavoury atmosphere built up with large numbers of Celtic fans passing through the area as well as those who had been drinking in a nearby pub. There was a sudden build-up of opposition supporters on the corner of Kinloch Street who proceeded to throw glass bottles, stones, coins and various other objects at the gathered Airdrie supporters. With virtually nowhere to move to a number of Airdrie supporters were struck by these objects. Most seriously of all a 75-year-old fan was struck on the head by one of the bottles and required a lengthy spell of treatment from Paramedics. On top of those struck by the objects, a large number of the children and females in attendance were left in an extremely distressed state. We feel that the handling of this event was very poorly managed, and left six family busloads of supporters in a very vulnerable situation. With this in mind we will be asking to discuss the matter with the members of the Airdrieonians FC board with a view to following up the incident with Celtic FC and the SFA. Airdrie Supporters Trust

SFA to meet Scottish Premiership clubs over referee and appeal issues
Bluedell replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
There needs to be a better way of deciding what gets referred to the Compliance Officer. The current method of allowing the Celtic-minded press to decide is clearly flawed, -
I think it's on Premier Sports. I'll not be watching it.

I've never been much of a podcast listener but wanted to increase my Rangers exposure post-OF game, and after listening to their free flagship pod (a review the game just played, similar to our own excellent Gersnet pod)), and after hearing friends rave about it, I decided to pay my £1.99/month to get the increased amount, and it's one of the best £1.99 I've paid. There's more pods than I have time to listen to and most are of excellent quality. Since the turn of the year there's been: Daily update - most week days. An update by Davie Edgar summarising what's happened in the past 24 hours, and his giving his presumably informed take on things. 2 separate excellent tributes to the Ibrox disaster. Half season review parts 1&2 Quiz The Eck era episode 12 Blue scarves on - pod by a couple of females= (fantastic name for a podcast) Top of the flops - Alan Gow (not disrespectful, which was a concern of mine) Interview with Graeme Murty out at the Mercedes Cup in Germany Time Capsule - fantastic review of Killie 1 Rangers 5 in 2011 Our Rangers players - Stuart Munro Tactics talk There's also other Rangers stuff that I haven't mentioned like Hoggy's Hamper and Patreon-ising, and other Gers stuff that I haven't mentioned. That's in addition to non-Rangers pods - Review of EPL Serie A (this may be normally on the £3.99 subscription) Eurpean Hangover - Aspects of European football ((I'm assuming this is non rangers) Grandpa Simpson I'd recommend it any Gers fan. Davie Edgar obviously runs it and is excellent to listen to in my opinion, and appears on some of the shows, but he's built up a team of other really good podders as well. You can subscribe through the Patreon app, and if you don't like it you can cease paying at any point. I'd highly recommend it.

The fact (?) that the SFA may not recognise a contract is irrelevant. They would be recognised by a Scottish Court and therefore it's McCall's words that are worthless.

I don't see Gerrard moving away from his preferred 4-3-3. It's possible that Defoe will play in front of Candeias as I understand that he played wide in a front 3 for Sunderland. -
Alfredo Morelos will face no SFA disciplinary charges
Bluedell replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
It's scary that just one win by us has created this level of paranoia. We've been getting shitty refereeing over the past couple of seasons, which is conveniently forgotten. There are some serious mental health issues out there. -

It was a pleasure walking into Ibrox today and not having to have my ears and eyes assaulted by the great unwashed. Great decision by the club to reduce their allocation.- 200 replies
