  1. So we have lost Mendes, Rothen, Boyd, Thomson, Novo, Smith and Beasley from our squad at the start of last seson and we have only added Webster, and Walter is only looking to add "two or three players" for a season that's going to include the rigours of CL football? :(
  2. He'll mean title deeds.
  3. Why should the players get preferential treatment over all the other creditors of the club? Wee Jeanie who supplies the pies from her corner shop gets 5p in the pound while the multi millionaire players get paid in full? Hardly fair.
  4. Ibrox and Murray Park are owned by the club. It's been know as a fact for a long time. There are no deeds of covenant or anything else with other parts of the Murray group.
  5. I believe that they are correct on the first and third points. Don't agree with them on the VAT on agents' fees though, although don't know the technical issues involved.
  6. I'm sure it wasn't.
  7. Potential purchasers of the club may come with pre-conceived ideas as to supporter involvement. What the RST need to do is come up with a plan as to how it would work and try and get these people to consider it before they come to the table as it could be too late by that point as their opinions are formed. While I admit it would not be that easy, they need to be proactive on this, and not reactive. Issue a plan now as to how they see supporter involvement so that people can then argue the pros and cons and get a better picture of what's involved.
  8. Over 3,500 shareholders did (including myself). A very sizeable percentage of the shareholders back in 2000 (pre-RST). Apart from Enic's, only 11% of the available shares were not taken up.
  9. Fair point, but there would be some that could be used that would support my argument. I just used them coz I hate the bassas.
  10. What country does give unbiased, balanced reporting when their own country is involved? Perhaps I should want Scotland to lose because of Keevins, McNee, Spiers etc?
  11. Well done to S_A on his well deserved promotion to the Hall of Fame. Also well done to the the Best New Posters. Always great to get some new contributions.
  12. The Assembly needs to decide what it is, and what it wants to be. At the moment it is an organisation for supporters clubs and the World Wide Alliance, with some additions (RST, blind, corporate) tacked on for convenience. It does not represent season ticket holders, for example, and has no actual members as far as I can tell. It has organisations affiliated to it who have members but that does not make them members of the Assembly per se. It needs to demonstrate its independence and make it clear who it is trying to represent and become more democratic and accountable.
  13. Sadly I attended a mate's funeral today. Alan and I were in the same supporters club and travelled around Scotland and Europe during the 90s and had many great days and nights together. Many might remember a balding, slightly overweight 45 year old on top of a bus in Marseilles, leading the bears in singing. Despite his stutter, his jokes were legendary and it disappeared totally when it came to a song. He was a great one for starting songs on the bus and I learned a few that I have not heard anywhere else. "Take a trolley, take a tramcar...." He enjoyed his drink and him and his brother Sam took great delight on putting some unsuspecting soul on the "Walker hitlist" at some Rangers night out or trip away. That person would get plied with drink all night and before they knew it they were struggling to move the next morning but having had a super night as Alan and Sam were great company and would have been happy to pay for everyone's drink all night if they were allowed. I have never heard anyone say a bad word about Alan. The Argyle 18 RSC have lost a brother and a friend. My thoughts are with Sam, his wife and kids, his mother and the rest of his family.
  14. Easy enough to get an independent accountant or lawyer to look after it. However I'm sure this isn't a million miles away from something that the Trust have been looking at over the past 6 months, and is also similar to other schemes that were not fully pursued.
  15. There's been a lot of valid criticisms aimed at the Assembly over the last 5/6 years, many of them from the Trust. I feel that it's a bit contradictory, criticising on one hand, and fully supporting on the other, being a member of this organisation that was "only set up to stifle the RST." I'm sure relations between the organisations are at an all-time high due to the friendship of the respective Chairmen, but I still have a problem with the idea that the RST is a member of it. However it's a minor point in the grand scheme of things.
  16. But surely collaboration does not depend on membership?
  17. As the RST has been an integral member of the Assembly since its conception and remained a member then by failing to do anything about it, the RST are supporting its set up. My view is that the RST should resign from the Assembly but I know it's not a view that has much support from the RST board.
  18. The reaction to constructive criticism and advice is disappointing.
  19. I wonder if it is telling that no RST board members replied to a thread on Gersave on FF?
  20. :cough: Kyle Lafferty :cough:
  21. Sorry, mate. Just depressed at the thought of no enthusiasm from the owner of the club, the lies and deception and the future of the club. I doubt you could afford me anyway. BMcK, yeah, but in what state?
  22. One of Murray's biggest concerns is perception. He does not want to be seen as being unable to sell the club and therefore has publicly take it off the market, but it's of extremely little benefit to the MIH group and I'm sure he would still sell in a heartbeat if he was able to.
