  1. There are contradictions in this. 1. If the Boys Club was not part of of Celtic why did Stein have to ban Torbett from celtic park? Surely he wouldn't be anywhere near the place if it wasn't part of the football club? 2. It states that Stein took action. Therefore surely he did know. Why would he have taken action if he didn't know? Did his actions prevent Torbett re-offending elsewhere? Did he go to the police about it? It appears not, and that is where he falls down. Stein did take action when he found out. Sadly the action wasn't sufficient.
  2. Another thing that Celtic fans should remember is the reason why old firm games have to be played early after the split. It's because of THEIR behaviour in 1999. If they weren't so badly behaved the game could have been played later and Brown would have been available. You reap what you sow.
  3. So the rules of the SPL as set out at the start of the season and agreed to by Celtic are applied, but by applying these rules, Celtic are being treated unfairly? I guess the only way to treat Celtic fairly is to allow them to do whatever they want. You couldn't make these guys up.
  4. I'm going to the Rangers Media night in the WRC the previous night. Better not go OTT or I'll not make the game.
  5. I don't think that Velicka offers much more than Boyd as the loan striker. If it's a choice between the 2 of them, I'd go for Boyd, and my thoughts about him playing upfront on his own are well-documented. I could see Novo being given that role before either of them.
  6. Smith gave some bite and mobility, which has been lacking from LM, so yeah, I'd give him another go. I just can't make up my mind about Edu. Is he doing a job or is the game passing him by? I'm not yet convinced, but if Smith decided to start with him, I'd not be too upset, but I'd probably not pick him myself.
  7. I'd go with McGregor Whittaker, Bougherra, Weir, Papac (if fit - if not then same full backs as at the w/e) Davis, Fergie, Mendes, Smith Novo, Boyd Davis and Mendes aren't really doing it at the moment, but I'm not convinced that we have better options.
  8. Walter doesn't like picking him against against them, but I don't think he has any other option this time.
  9. Has to be our stongest team on Saturday. We aren't good enough to rest players, particularly given our squad situation. Chances are that Walter won't play Boyd against Celtic anyway.
  10. Boyd has proved that he can't play up front himself, and I don't believe we would have got anywhere in Europe playing 4-4-2, given the players we had. We didn't have the ability to beat teams playing football, and had to resort to a counter-attacking style. Boyd may have scored the odd goal in Europe but we would have ended up conceding a lot more if he had being playing. That's as much a criticism of the other players in the team as it is Boyd, but for us to progress, we could only do it in one style and that doesn't suit Boyd's game.
  11. Sure, it's hardly a stunning line-up, but he has a lot less stinkers than Boyd.
  12. Going back to Boyd for POTY, there have been too many crap games from him to warrant that - Killie, Inverness, Hearts, Celtic etc.
  13. I said it before the games and said it after. It's hardly said with hindsight. Sorry, but I can't accept that we would have got results against in any of the games playing with Boyd in the team. Walter's defensive tactics were all that got us through. We could not have done that with Boyd there.
  14. We would also been out of Europe before Christmas had he been playing every game. He's obviously got his limitations, as well as his strengths, and I can't put him in front of Bougherra when it comes to POTY.
  15. Highlight of the day was when Scott and Travis came on at half time. Norris, no, I don't think so.
  16. I had also heard it was going to be the second game. Let's hope so.
  17. McGregor is the better keeper and should be back in the team in my opinion, given that he has got over his early season shakes.
  18. You were probably a lot closer than me, and had a much better view, so will go with your opinion.
  19. Mikey Mols is my favourite player for some reason. Albertz and Laudrup would probably make up my top 3.
  20. I thought Smith had a good game. Everyone around me thought it wasn't a penalty. I've yet to see it again on TV though. Given our recent performances the fact that Motherwell would come back into the game and probably score was highly predictable. The miodfield area is a problem area. Davis's performaces are worrying, and I think we should be getting more out of Mendes. I can't make up my mind about Edu.
  21. Based on yesterday's performance, there's no reason why Christian Dailly shouldn't be in as cover at RB. I thought Smith did very well at left midfield, and well worth another shot. Gave some bite that the likes of Fleck don't, although was lucky not to get booked. Given the problems we have had in this position, it's a wonder why he hasn't been tried before this.
  22. Cover up at its best.
  23. Novo and Miller for me..... :box:
  24. The Inverness Caley game did that to me.
  25. Makes them part-timers, but they have that right...... :fish:
