I had thought that they might not have had one this year, as they may struggle to sell tickets due to the credit crunch etc.

Who would you play at left-midfield next week...?

Doubt that he'll go with Whittaker. He has struuggled against McGeady in the past, and I'm sure he'll go with Broadfoot. -

Really difficult question. Fleck's performances at Parkhead and against Inverness put serious question marks against him. Aaron's performance yesterday suggested he's not up to it yet. Naismith also hasn't looked that great when played wide. Beasley hasn't played a decent competitive game for us for ages and would be too big a risk. Miller is better suited to start upfront, and will. Lafferty, McCulloch and Whittaker aren't suited to it. Which leave me with Novo, more by default than anything else. -
I think he's now Managing Director, Frankie, but who knows what that means in the unique Hearts set-up. Leppardized, I'm sure Bain does a lot of work that most wouldn't appreciate. However he has been paid in excess of £500K and that's way too much for that position. It seems to me that it's just an ego trip for Murray to be paying that much, but it's our club's money that's funding it.

Ogilvie's a great Rangers man, but I'm yet to be convinced he makes a great CEO.
-
As soon as we got knocked out of Europe, this year's loss of £10m+ would have been known to SDM and MB. They had yet to announce the profit and was irrelevant to this season's financial performance. I can't believe that would be a reason for not taking action back then and deferring a decision 6 months.

Concerning. Surely it's only a matter of time if they are relying on the goodwill of creditors? Bloody cheap rent for their stadium though.
-
Are the jobs needed? If yes, then why are we getting rid of them. If no, then why didn't we do it 6 months ago. More incompetence at the top.
-
Hence my "two crap teams" comment. However it's relevant in the context that it's an ex-celtic player commenting about us. Never said you did.
-
I could do a similar hatchet job on the celtic players. Doesn't prove anything. Two crap teams. Bottle is probably the biggest factor.

I'd agree to a certain extent. The price of the club is not that relevant, but there are better people out there, but there are also worse people. Getting someone with a lot of enthusiasm would certainly be a start. Having looked at the MIH accounts, I can easily see a scenario where they will not be here in 12 months, so I don't have huge confidence that he can continue to support us for the next 10 years. I don't see that a new CEO would make that much difference. Murray doesn't give them much autonomy so getting someone else in wouldn't solve that problem. We need him to get someone in and allow them to run the club. It won't happen as guys like Montgmery and Brannan found out. I've yet to be convinced that this is the case. The support have been misled in the past and this could be another example. Does Murray have the ability to "take drastic measures elsewhere in his business portfolio to generate emergency funding"? HBOS own a percentage of MIH and have a major say, given the highly levered position of the group. they are not going to allow their investment to be jeapordised just so that Rangers are OK. -

The debt was moved out of rangers and that's all that matters to me. Whether he paid cash or took additional loans or whatever is irrelevant. If you sell a house you don't care where money comes from. I don't believe that the amount of debt makes the club unbuyable as such. It just affects the amount of cash that Murray gets for his shares. The much bigger issue is the fact that we continue to make large losses. :D Agreed. My understanding is that Murray didn't take Ferguson's side. He would have backed Le Guen if he was willing to commit to the club but he wasn't, and given that he was also unwilling buy any players at a time when it was obvious to all that we had major problems then it was quite right that he stepped down. -
Can't say, now that S_A's a mod.

But I still can't figure out why having a team GB in the Olympics makes it easier for FIFA to get their way. If they want it now, why don't they just change it so that there is only one team? If they can't for some reason then why would that reason change post-Olympics?
-
Someone's studied Maslow's hierarchy.
-
It seems that a majority of Scots are against the idea of a British u23 team entering the Olympics. The main reason given for this opposition is that it will lead to the Scottish national team being done away totally with a GB team being intorduced. Can anyone explain why that would be the case? Why would a u23 team GB make any difference? Surely if FIFA (or UEFA) want to do it, they can? Why do they have any more chance of changing things because of this? Either they have the power or the votes to change it or they don't. Or is the real reason that most of these people are just anti-English bigots and are using this as an excuse?

Does he think the second half performance was OK?

Rangers 0 : 1 Caley Thistle - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Bluedell replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
My assessment of the players from yesterday's match thread: McGregor - Nothing to do until the 92nd minute. No chance with the penalty Broadfoot - Pish. Showed his limitations at right back and faded badly towards the end of the game. Bougherra - MOTM - Best player by far and tried to play defence, midfield and attack, coz no other bugger was bothering. Weir - A liability. Looked uncomfortable all night, and gave away a penalty and couldn't complain about that or his red card. New contract? Don't make me laugh. Papac - OK. Tried hard and worked up and down well. Davis - Very pish. worst player on the park. learn how to pass the ball. Ferguson - Good. Played well and was our second best player on the night. Looked more like the old Fergie but has lost some fitness along the way. Edu - Struggled. Got booked in the first half and uncomfortable after that. Fleck - Pish. Haven't a clue how he wasn't subbed long before the 70 minute mark. Got a long way to go based on this performance. Miller - Pish. Had a couple of good runs but his touch wasn't good enough. Boyd - Pish. Touch was poor and contributed very little. Lafferty - Second half sub. Pish. Naismith - Second half sub. Pish. Aaron - 83rd minute sub. Should have been given longer. Walter Smith - Inability to change players who were having nightmares cost us big time. Overall, too many players off the boil, and showed that they don't have the bottle to win the league. This result is disasterous for us. -
Sorry, that was their formation, not ours.
-
Seemed to be a defensive 4-4-2.
-
Don't know that I'd agree with that assumption. I wouldn't imagine that a specific dislike of WS was required for many to start booing. the performance was that bad that it would have just exasperated a lot of people and booing was their way of showing their displeasure of what was on the park tonight.
-
Butcher got his tactics spot on tonight.
-
Guys, can we stop the personal attacks please?
-
I would generally agree with you and hate people booing, but I'm so pissed off with the performance tonight that I find it hard to criticise anyone for doing it. They were let down badly.
