Rangers 3 : 1 Kilmarnock - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Bluedell replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Mendes has being doing that for weeks. -
I've been a season ticket holder for over 20 years, and if you ask me what I enjoy about the game, it's meeting my mates before the game, it's talking to the guys around me in the ground, and the football on the pitch comes a poor third. It's not good value, but the sad thing is that I don't have anything else better to do so I'll be back next season.

Where would he be without his manager, Gordon?
-
That could have been a option when they made the substitution today, but Fleck wasn't really in the game at that point and it probably made more sense than taking Fergie off. It would be good to see them both in action in some future game, particuarly if we go a couple of goals up.

Thanks for posting.

He did well when he came on today. Probably better than Fleck, who he replaced.

Murray never liked Ogilvie. I remember an AGM, perhaps mid 90s, where a woman stood up and criticised Mrray for slagging off Ogilvie (in a private conversation which she had overheard. Must have been embarassing as both were siting at the top table. I don't know whether Ogilvie was a yes man, but he was obviously old-school and not brought in by Murray which would have gone agaisnt him. Difficult to say whether it was Bain or Murray who ultimately got rid of him as some of Ogilvie's responsibilities would have been taken by Bain when he became CEO, and perhaps there was a case that they genuinely felt he wasn't needed. However Ogilvie was always a credit to the club and a true Rangers man.

Laughable.

I heard one on talkSport this morning, claiming that the Spanish authorities said that there were 75,000 in Suvil whereas he thought that there were 100,000 and celtic had the biggest travelling support in Britain. He conveniently ignored the fact that Rangers have had consistently more fans following them away from home both domestically and in europe over the past few years and the Spanish authorities said that there were 54,000 of them in Suvil.

That story's brought a huge smile to my face for some reason.

Haven't heard that either. I'd be interested if you can remember what the source of that was. So when Charlie Adam was playing, we'd be the heavy blues?

I was brought up us having black socks, and I don't like it when we change. Black and red loyal.

Mrs BD doesn't want to stay over. She's sick of going to bed at 2am, only for me to stay in the bar for another 4 hours. I believe that there are still some tickets left, if anyone is interested.

McGregor? Did you see him in the first 3 or 4 months of the season?

Setting the Standard: Redeveloping RSC Links with the Club
Bluedell replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
The nights in the Edmiston were great. Was in there after more than a few cup finals, and also watched the Leeds away game in 1992 in there. What a night that was. My supporters club used to leave from there.- 24 replies

But surely there weren't 50 people on these 30 coaches? Would a better average not be 30-35, which could result in under 50%? Your experience with fans on the CCCS is very interesting.- 24 replies

Setting the Standard: Redeveloping RSC Links with the Club

Fair points, and a good argument as to why the RSCs should be looked after. However I guess it depends where you park as there are obviously a large number of bears who don't go by bus and my view is that they would be in the majority, but I'll admit that you could be better placed to have a more accurate view on this. It'd be interesting to know how many CCCS people are like who you describe. No, none of the perks in your article would make me rejoin. I already get 10% off in the shops, for example. I left my club due to family commitments, and the club subsequently folded shortly afterwards for a number of reasons but partly due to the timing of games (eg 6pm on a Sunday) and a large number of members found themselves unable to attend. I now tend to take my son to the away games now, and I prefer the flexibility and comfort that not being an RSC member gives.- 24 replies

Setting the Standard: Redeveloping RSC Links with the Club

This is taken from the published minutes from the Assembly meeting over a month ago. It seems that they are looking to address some of the issues raised here, which is good. However it would be helpful if they were able to tell us what some of their proposals are. Are members like myself not entitled to find out?- 24 replies

What purpose does the Association now serve? Whilst I have every respect for John MacMillan, I fail to see how an organisation that represents so few RSCs can be meaningful.- 24 replies

Setting the Standard: Redeveloping RSC Links with the Club

Interesting article. On the away tickets issue, does anyone know what percentage of tickets for a typical away game to RSCs and how many go to CCCSs? Do RSCs get a proportion of their tickets through CCCS? I was a member of an RSC throughout the 90s and got all of my away tickets through it (for every game). Now I just apply through the CCCS like other ST holders and just get my 5 or 6 a season. I think that some justification needs to be given as to whether it should be the RSCs that get extra tickets if there are some available. One thing I couldn't figure out was the amount of empty seats down at Killie at the last game. Why? Could the club not take more and allocate more to both sets of bears? Although I'm no longer a member of an RSC, it appears that there is virtually no communication between the Assembly/WWA and the average member of an RSC. This make a mockery of the whole supporter set-up and needs to be overhauled, but that's a whole different subject. TB makes a great point on the club getting the RSCs on board. Just think of what could be achieved if that was the case, rather than the RSA (Assembly) sitting in their ivory towers deciding how they are to spend their (the club's) £30K. I'm sure if Murray or Bain were approached on the subject they would just point to the Assembly. That's a lazy answer as the Assembly doesn't achive a great deal and has no way of communicating to the average bear. Quarterly meetings similar to the sort that occured in the WRC would be the way to go with major delegates meeting with SDM and MB to put their views across and allowing the club to put their cards on the table and explain what they see as acceptable and what is not and getting that message out to the rank-and-file. Messages that are old tend to get forgotten about and need to be reinforced. this neds to be done by word-of-mouth and messages on the screens or in the programme will just be ignored. SDM/MD, the RSCs are there. Help them AND use them and both sides will see the benefits....but don't forget about us CCCS guys.- 24 replies

The issues aren't strictly football issues. They are just being played out there. Our club is being attacked and that makes it a football issue. You may not care about religion, but some of us do. You can argue that it's not a football issue but it is. I fervently believe that TBB was not a song with religious connotations but it has been argued that is has. Likewise the so-called famine chant. It's not us that's doing it, and we can either allow ourselves to be bullied or we can stand up for what we believe in.
