A fan whose commitment to the club was second to none. RIP. A nice tribute by Jim on the offical site. This was posted by Ionasdad on FF

So who is going to be first to do the obvious joke?

Sounds like it will be a great night and a very worthy cause. I'm going and I know that there are other Gersnet posters who have already bought tickets. I've been at a couple of dinners where Bill Copeland has been at and he's hilarious. Roughie is meant to be a great after-dinner speaker as well, but I've never heard him, and I understand Sandi Thom is bringing her band to do a set. Hope to see as many of you as possible there.

It's hardly twisting a quote. "We won't be sitting down to pick a side until tomorrow or Friday." He could have easily said "I know what team I want to field but have to wait to see if there are any injuries before finalising it" but he didn't. Excuse me for taking him at his word. I didn't imply that he hasn't a clue so please don't make things up.

We can live in hope.

Walter should have been thinking about it and planning ahead for over a week. Things should be worked out in training with that in mind since the last league game. The Milan game should have (and possibly was) been used for various tactics, and training should be geared at working towards this game. If he's not planning ahead then he's not doing his job properly. FM?

Frankie, from the conversations I've had with a NOTW journo, the sporting side and the features side are separate and the features guys would try and hide stories from the sports side to ensure that they couldn't get pressure put on. That's not to say that pressure won't be put on, but it's not a given that it will be accepted.

I'm horrified if he's telling the truth and that he currently hasn't got a team picked if all players return fit.
-
Personally, I don't think Naismith's performances have been that good that I would want him starting on Sunday. He's still got a bit to go before that.
-
If it is NOTW that have found it then they would wait until Sunday. They wouldn't share it with the Sun, for example, as there is a rivalry between the papers, and the journalists don't share. I do know that NOTW have done some investigations on Boruc before, primarily on his love life, so it wouldn't be a surprise to find out that they have come out with another scoop and want to wait until Sunday for maximum impact. Frankie, I don't see why Boruc wouldn't get involved in something like this. Kancheskis apparently did, and there are plenty of rumours of some EPL high rollers dropping fortunes. Edit - although I now see that there's speculation that he's deliberately losing games, which I would find hard to believe, despite some of his performances this seeason.

The old section J. Up there with the best atmospheres I've ever encountered. I remember getting into the north enclosure and jumping the fence as behinfd the goal was a far better atmosphere.

Yes, that what I meant. I did love the old Hampden, but nowadays it's soulless. It's a waste of money.
-
I usually get one a season, and got it for the last one, so won't be going this time.
-
3 competitive SPL games? He shouldn't be getting called up to the national squad based on that.
-
The Hampden project was a joke. Why spend all that money on it, only for it to end up as still the third best stadium in the city? They could have just binned Hampden and used the cash to upgrade the other 2 stadia and used them alternatively.

Jardine claimed that the Shearer family requested a minute's applause. The Shearer family later denied this.

I can't see how this will work properly. Celtic have probably around £13m of turnover from the sales of strips etc, whereas we have £4.5m due to the JJB deal, but we probably make more money from it. If you outsource parts of your business, it can have a detrimental effect on the turnover but improve your profit. It's a very unfair rule unless they somehow take account of this kind of thing which would be virtually impossible. That's the problem when you have football people trying to do something who don't understand business.

Wondered what the enemy looks like - here you go.

Thanks for that. Wasn't aware that McKenna was being mentioned for that job. Do we know anything about Tom Little? -
I would think (and hope) that Lafferty would get the nod in front of Miller if he goes 4-5-1. ...however he may look at playing Miller wide right (or left).

Will Martin Bain now become a contributor to the site?

Sounds like there is very little chance of anyone outwith the CCCS scheme getting a ticket.
-
...and a good performance from what I saw in the highlights. Well done PL.
-
Correct. Van der Sar is on 810 minutes. Woods' record is 1196, so over 4 games to go.
