I'm sure you're right. It just comes as "banned" when I try and log in, although a banning for not posting is still a banning.
-
I post on here, FF and RM (although I post most on here). I recently tried to log onto VB and found I had been banned. Their loss. PS welcome Norris.

Not seen too many TBH. We don't need them. I'd agree though, and that was just something I threw in. it's not really part of the theory, but like you, I go with the cashflow issue.
-
I think I've had 6 emails since the start of the season, including the one MF refers to. Didn't reply to it though.
-
Don't think it's a sudden need. It's possibly always been there. It could be due to some banking covenant? However this school of thought also suggests that SDM was relying on JJB going under prior to 31/1 (MIH's year end) allowing Rangers to boost their profit by writing off the remainder of the £18m we got upfront and in turn boosting MIH's profit. When that didn't happen SDM needed to get profit from elsewhere, hence the sudden announcement that we would sell virtually anyone. As I said, it's not my theory, but an interesting and plausible one all the same.
-
There's another (fairly unpublicised) school of thought that suggests that the £3m isn't for us at all, but is needed to allow a profit to be shown in the MIH accounts. Not sure I buy into this, and believe the cashflow issue is much more likely, but you never know.

What a strange reaction from them.

How can you remember one out of the thousands who criticise you?

Welcome, mate. Look forward to your contributions.

S_A, I don't think he has any cash to lend to us. His Jan 2008 accounts showed only £4m of cash in hand, and they have around £400m of loans to repay in the next 12 months IIRC.

Thanks. Found it. They are even happy to print lies on that page. "It was he that coughed up the money for Gazza, financed the nine in a row era."
-
He's just repeating what I said 2 weeks ago. Calscot, I doubt the bank are reducing our lending, but they also aren't increasing it either, and it appears we are about to run out of cash before the season ticket money comes in, hence the need to sell. The banks aren't forcing us to do anything. They are just telling us to operate within existing limits which we are strugging to do.

Link doesn't appear to work, Cammy. Perhaps they have realised what they have done and taken it down? Reminds me of the protest in 2006. I emailed Bain with the following: I have read the reports on the club's website of the incidents outside the ground after yesterday's game, and also heard several eye witness accounts and am appalled by the reporting. I would firstly like to make it clear that I do not consider myself part of either a pro-Murray or anti-Murray group for lack of better terms. My complaints are as follows: 1. The use of the term ââ?¬Å?Rangers fansââ?¬Â when reporting the incident on the website, thus implying that you are only a Rangers fan if you are not ââ?¬Å?anti-Murrayââ?¬Â. I believe that both sides of the argument only have Rangersââ?¬â?¢ best interests at heart, and to imply that you have to be pro David Murray to be a Rangers fan is insulting to all Rangers fans. 2. From reports that I have heard the larger group used intimidation and treats of violence, and have even heard that someone in the smaller group was spat on. Your own report even suggests this with the term ââ?¬Å?overpoweredââ?¬Â. This seems to be giving approval for this approach. I believe that both sides of the argument should be able to put their views forward peacefully, particularly on such a day as Armistice Day, and that the club should be condemning, and not condoning intimidation and physical threats, no matter what side of the argument they are on.

Edu is 6' as well.

I'll do a search to see if I can find the email later, if I get a chance. It would only have been members of Gersave whose opinions would have been solicited. The RST website article was also posted on at least 3 other fans' websites. However I would agree with your second paragraph in general.
-
The bank have a floating charge and a guarantee from each "group company" and I believe that group is the Rangers group and not the MIH group given the context it is used in.
-
There was a request for suggestions put up on the RST website on 13/11/07. I believe that there was an email sent out around this time as well. I wouldn't deny that consultation in respect of the first tranche of Gersave cash could have been improved, but to send letters out to all members would have been a time-consuming exercise.
-
I seem to recall that a request for suggestions was made both on the RST website and by email to RST members.

I'd agree, Spliff. Good first post. Our current borrowings are secured internally and it would be possible to similar in the future. Not an easy thing to do, but not impossible.
-
I doubt anyone in the current climate would guarantee us an annual income.

Cammy, it is known who owns the youth development. The club does, despite the misleading statements that were made around the time of the launch of RYD. There were just 4 guys who made interest free loans. They are not due any further cash. RYD is wholly owned by the club. The catering and ticketing has been sub-contracted. We can all argue about the quality but the commercial rationale behind doing it is sound. Do we benefit more from doing it than if we did it in-house? I don't have a clue, but I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest that we are worse off financially. Likewise the JJB deal is sound commercially, but there are obvious and well-documented downsides, but we are better off financially with it. Great to hear your NN story. Everything I hear about him reinforces what a credit he is. I heard recently he stayed far longer than all of the other players when the visited sick kids in hospital.

I'm not sure that the fans would react to a "give us more cash and get nothing in return" appeal. If they want to go down the route of raising cash, another rights issue is probably the way to go, but this one would probably suffer in the same way as the last one did with fans just seeing that they were stumping up for SDM/WS mistakes. There would need to be guarantees that the club was going to be run financially better, but given that Murray has taken us down this road twice, I fail to see what could be done or said to demonstrate that. I can't see meaningful cash being raised from the fans under the current regime. If you asked all fans to donate £1, you would raise well under £1m, as many wouldn't do it.

I'm not arguing whether Bougerra is right or wrong in his beliefs. At least he has them. His views that he has expressed don't seem offensive and if the GJRC don't have an issue with them then who am I to complain.
-
I just hope this wasn't Smith putting him in the shop-window.

When I stand for a 2 minute's silence at Armistice day I am paying tribute to the people who put their lives on the line for this country's freedom. I am not paying tribute to dead nazis. You may not admire that stance, but I make no apology for it. I have very little opinion on the middle east conflict. there are wrongs on both sides. However Bougerra is making a stance, and I admire him for that. Too many people are not willing to stand up for what they believe in.
