  1. George Peat, the SFA President, has not had an impressive record since his appointment and I, for one, have no confidence in the way he is performng his duties. Artur Boruc made provocative gestures to the Rangers support, and George Peat felt that a paltry £500 fine was sufficient, despite Boruc's previous record of gestures. Nacho Novo was rumoured to be interested in playing for Scotrland, but Peat stated that he did not want it, despite the Scotand manager saying he would consider it. One Rangers player said he didn't wish to be considered for Scotland for personal reasons and another said he did not want to play under the current manager. Peat's response was to ask for the players to be banned sine die, despite him being happy that the current manager contibnues to pick david Weir after he was in a similar position. Walter Smith raises the issue of refereeing incompetence (or worse) and rather than address the issue Peat claims it is to deflect deficiencies in Rangers. Further incompetence is highlighted in his plans to waste money by expanding Hampden. Surely the SFA would be improved if they could get someone who can handle these issues in a better manner and not show a bias against one particular club?
  2. When I heard it this morning I thought it was all a cover-up to justify him being dropped.
  3. Rangers are killing me softly at the moment.
  4. It all appears fairly straightforward. Four (?) guys gave RYD interest free loans. RYD incur expenses and charge Rangers. Where the confusion arises is due to the statements that were made at the time of the loans which suggests that Rangers didn't own RYD, RYD owned the youth players, and could sell them to the highest bidder and guys like Satty would make a turn. This seems not to be the case, and during the year to June 2006, all player registrations within RYD disappeared up to the club itself.
  5. From a company persepective, I am correct as I've investigated it, and I also understand that a Rangers director expressed surprise at a meeting that the common perception was that our youths were owned by third parties. If it was as it had been portrayed then the corporate set-up would be totally different, and there would also require to be further disclosure in the accounts of RYD, of which there isn't. The RYD accounts show interest free loans, and transactions with the club.
  6. My understanding is that they don't. I believe that they ended up loaning the cash to RYD, but Satty etc are not directors of RYD, but he is a director of Rangers development Fund. RYD is a wholly owned subsidiary of the club and as such nobody otehr than the club owns the youth players, depsite the many misleading articles and statements around the time of when it was all set up.
  7. Increasing the price of season tickets and match tickets raises money for the club as well. There reaches a saturation pouint in respect of what the support can give and I think that we have reached that point. The recession is going to hit big time early next year and there are going to be lots of job losses. I fail to see why the support should be asked/blackmailed into giving more money to cover for Walter's incompetence in losing to Kaunus. I don't think we should get side-tracked into the padded seat scenario. That's not the main reason for the survey. However having a padded seat, I can recommend them.
  8. They are obviously revisiting the membership idea, which is something that they have been toying with for a while. It will be of limited use to most, but I can see people being effectively forced to join.
  9. On a slightly different subject (sorry), earlier this week I heard Charlie Nicholas came out with the classic "they need to solve their solutions". Back on the subject, apparently the bold Archie thought we had a striker pronounced "Darkieville, but at least he has got his age as an excuse.
  10. If you're referring to the last paragraph then yes.
  11. It was the poster Gomacgers on FF who emailed NbM with claims of receiving sectarian abuse. He did it twice, once as Celtic fan and once as a Rangers fan following an old firm game in November 2004. I don't believe that the thread exists any more but my recollection is that the Celtic fan received a request for full details and they wanted to publicise it, whereas the Rangers fan was told that there was nothing that they could do and with the suggestion that he just went to the police. This proved that NbM had a one-sided agenda. It was Helen Miller of NbM who replied on both occasions and then issued threats of legal action to Gomacgers. Needless to say, the threats weren't followed up on. There is at least one other, more disturbing example of NbM not being objective, and which resulted in a family going through hell because of it, but I believe that the legal case may still be ongoing and I'd rather not go into it.
  12. Gribz, I believe that we ended up going for Miller instead of him. I doubt that we will go for him as well now. We have enough strikers and enough people who can't really play on the left side of midfield.
  13. Is it true that if they lose they will have the lowest CL points of a British (and I use that term advisedly) team ever? If so, then let's hope that they get humped.
  14. Once his legs go, we'll re-sign him.
  15. True, but Simpson's career was already on the decline, mainly due to injuries. Some people have claimed that it was caused by Ferguson overusing him in his earlier career.
  16. I wonder why the Wikipedia paragraph is unable to get a proper reference for the story?
  17. More likely to have been Bain's decision. However the criticism still stands.
  18. Me too. I was at the game. Gribz, I'd disagree. I don't think Durrant ever reached his pre-injury form or potential.
  19. It only has two lines, if it is the plastic paddy chant he was done for singing. The defence are incompetent for allowing the PP chant and the famine song to be related. It seems that they have been found guilty of singing a song that they weren't singing. Only in today's Scotland.......
  20. F*ck you Celtic, you'll never win away.......
  21. My view is that financial institutions are a lot less interested on providing finance for deals that are more speculative in nature. It's certainly interesting and reassuring to hear your experiences, MF.
  22. I'm sure many people would claim my views on this and a couple of other Scottish football related issues are that of a conspiracy theorist. I'm happy to provide evidence to support my views to anyone who wishes to debate the subject.
  23. I'm sure that will be the way that it will portrayed. It will be the fact that he has been chased out of Scotland by bigotry.
  24. As we both know, Frankie, it didn't fit in with their agenda.
