  1. I note the address of 'the Drum' is, 26 Gallowgate. These last 20 years, Glasgow City Council has ensured the bottom part of the Gallowgate is no longer a 600 year old flea market known as the Barras. No, it the world's premier Plastic Paddy Theme Park.
  2. David Miliband's resignation from the Board of Sunderland FC due to the appointment of self-confessed fascist, Paulo Di Canio; is a real piece of sporting integrity. Of course, the fact that Miliband has recently announced his decision to vacate his parliamentary seat and take up a post heading a world-wide charity based in New York would influence the resignation, heavily. It makes you wonder why fellow Labour Party MPs and members of the Cabinet, Des Browne, Brian Wilson, and John Reid did NOT resign from ra Sellik Boards when Paulo was plying his trade at ra green'ngrey? Di Canio's fascist sympathies and actions were well known and documented when he arrived at ra Stydome, but he was presented as a cheeky chappie. His firm belief that Scottish football was dominated by a host of anti-Catholic organisations was well amplified by all the usual suspects. Even when he moved on to bigger clubs like Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham United, he continued the rhetoric to a welcoming Scottish broadcast and print media. He was so lionised that Radio Snyde auctioned off a pair of his (jack)boots for in excess of £30,000. The then Objective Host of ra Show, Paul Cooney was beside himself at the both the generosity and humanity of Paulo. The purchaser, Wullie Haughey(former Sellik Board member and consistently the Scottish Labour party's biggest benefactor), proclaimed the (jack)boots to be his most treasured possession. I mean, if you are prepared to splash £30k plus on a pair of (jack)boots belonging to a fascist, you would think Wullie would want a pair belonging to Franco, Salazar, Benito, Adolf, or pope Benedict? Anyways, I am hearing Paulo is non-plussed at Miliband's resignation. He admits to being hard of hearing and only accepted the post because genuinely, he thought he was taking over Sudetenland.
  3. I remember reading a broad sheet article on him when he was a member of the Dundee Board. It said he was named John Stevenson for the first two decades of his life, discovered his maternal Italian background and became Giovanni di Stefano. Perhaps Giovanni should get together with Phil McNumerousnames? They could form a self-help group.
  4. I am happy to do Peterhead on the 20th April.
  5. If, and that's a BIG IF, this should ever reach a court; I wonder which 'Tommy' would turn up?
  6. Neil and Stu' await Peter's call. When Peter tells them to speak, they will parrot the provided script. Remember last year, Peter and Neil spotted boarding a Heathrow plane at Glasgow Airport. An hour later as they alighted a new SPL TV rights Committee had been formed. Peter and Neil surprised the waiting media with this information; no one was more surprised than Neil to find out he was on a Committee that hither to one hour before, did NOT exist.
  7. Peter lifted the phone and told Record Editor, Alan Rennie to formulate an article mitigating the clearcdrop in attendances ar ra Stydome. Questions are being asked on radio phone-ins and we need to deal with this before our sponsors react. Involve Rangers, a picture is worth a thousand words, use one from last season of an early kick off televised match. Make ra Sellik expearience appear as part of a general trend. Rennie replied, 'yes Sir'.
  8. A very ood mate and long term uber-Bear had Steve Conroy as his GP in East Kilbride. Before Conroy achieved Grade 1 status, he had a picture on his wall of the Lisbon Lions. Simply, he was/is aSellik man. Like Wullie Collum, he realised that hs sympathies would not save him if the vicTims decided he had favoured Rangers. Truly, I am happy to hear Conroy is prepared to take this further, it ill open acan of wors and a clearer pictureof the intimidaion we all supect, mayemerge.
  9. I am happy with the proposed two signings, both bring something currently lacking in the team at the moment. However, surely the priority has got to be the three positions to the right of Lee Wallace?
  10. You gotta love Stephen Thompson. I mean, is he devoid of reality, or is he genuinely stupid? Glibly, he reveals he was on the SPL Board, then off it(he resigned on a point of principle), and now he is back on it. I suspect the proposed 16% rise in remuneration for full time Rangers hating over-rode that point of principle? The thing is, not a single member of the broadcast/print media think to question and reveal why dearest Stephen jumped off/jumped back on the gravy train in a matter of 5 weeks. It is most reminiscent of Neil Doncaster and Peter Lawwell being spotted boarding a plane to London. Forty minutes later, as the plane landed in London, we were informed Neil and Peter were members of the newly created SPL TV rights committee. As yet, we have not discovered who else serves on this very particular committee. Snouts in the Trough Loyal RSC.
  11. I have heard it was Rod McKenzie who argued hard that the SPL had a very good case and he and Harpers McLeod would secure the desired result. Further, Harpers McLeod is NOT in robust financial health, they need the fee and no doubt will argue that an appeal(led by Rod) will prevail. Last night on Radio Snyde, DJ related the tale of a journo friend telephoning Doncaster yesterday afternoon, seeking his reaction to the findings? Doncaster's short, sharp retort was, "it's not an SPL matter". I hope he continues with the same reply to Harper McLeods £400,000 bill.
  12. I have been informed from a usually trustworthy source that Neil Doncaster is out of the country and Lord Nimmo-Smith is currently in Quatar.
  13. I suspect Azure have awarded a 5 year contract to a farm(s) to supply beef. Further, said farm(s) will have a majority shareholder called, 'David E Murray'. ie a one-horse race.
  14. BBC Scotland's evening news has just reported that Pittodrie pies have tested positive for equine DNA. The Dandy Dobbins have withdrawn the usual beef pies and replaced them with pastry encased macaroni. It's pasta joke.
  15. The key to achieving balance on BBC Scotland is to engage off-air with the Producers. Each programme has it's own Producer, they are responsible for both Hosts and guests. I believe Cosgrove is a weak link, he broacasts for a dozen hours each weekend across the schedule. Football, current affairs, arts, music , ........... etc, it's hard to get away from him. even though his message remains constantly the same. He is over-exposed and this should be highlighted constantly. The original article is a good insight and I believe shows a small cabal of Producers have been calling the shots at Pacific Quay for a decade. The names McConville and Muirhead did NOT arrive through the ether, they were suggested, even promoted. By whom?
  16. During Whyte's take-over of the club, a bon mott of information revealed he owned three homes. His castle in Aberdeenshire, a flat in Monaco, and a villa in Costa Rica! I was non-plussed at the abode in central America until I found out Costa Rica has NO extradition treaty with the UK. As soon as Strathclyde's finest board a plane to Monaco to have a tete-a-tete with wee Craigy, the diminutive one will be winging it to snake central in Costa Rica.
  17. McConville's proposed appearance on tonight's Sportsound on BBC Radio Scotland is clear evidence that the sensitivities of Rangers supporters do NOT count at Pacific Quay. Cosgrove will be Chairing an hour long discussion, and I am positive he has been party to the decision that has seen an invitation extended to McConville; however, ultimately it is the show's Producer that makes the decision on contributors. We should attempt to find out the name of the Producer.
  18. Foresight and penetrative thought. Rangers PR should slavishly adhere to the above. The usual suspects had been rumbling with increasing excitement over an Asian finance firm possibly issuing a writ against our club. Phil McNumerousnames, McConville, and Thomson were ruminating and cranking the hate-wheel. The Daily Record's triumvirate is Alan Rennie, Austin Barret, and Kevin Mansi; all share the first three names' mindset. If our club's PR had run interference on this a week past, then they would NOT be reacting(again) to it today and over the coming months.
  19. Appreciate the point being made mate but I'd rather not have Mr Leckie taking the huff about this post... EDITED BY Frankie
  20. I do not want to click on the link, is the piece by Bill Leckie?
  21. These last three seasons has seen Dundee United in the UEFA dock. There has been fighting both inside and outside Tannadice and the Arabs have been fined and warned as to future behaviour. At the beginning of this season, elements of United's corporate support climbed up on to the deck above and proceeded to swap punches with the away support. It is this aspect that provides most concern. The 200 supporters in the away end had better be well protected by both stewards and police; otherwise Dundee United could find themselves back in the dock.
  22. I thought I had heard the name, Kevin Mansi before and a quick check of retained pieces confirmed. A couple of seasons past, ra Sellik visited Tynecastle and those jolly craicsters in the Roseburn stand behaved in their established manner. During the match, an incident saw the green'n'grey hordes shower the pitch with coins. A Hearts ballboy was his on the head and collapsed. The coins continued to cascade, even as he was receiving treatment. The lad returned home after the game and collapsed again, he was rushed to hospital. He was admitted and eventually diagnosed with a brain injury, the direct result of being struck by coins. The story was sourced and released the following evening. The Daily Record building was it's usual hive of activity but the then Editor, Bruce Waddell was off and out of office. Responsibility for front page decisions and Editorial fell to both the News Editor, Kevin Mansi and Head of News, Tom Hamilton. Both were conduits for Paul McBride QC continual on-message(source close to the Celtic Board) outpourings. The newsfloor were holding the front page, a 14 year old suffering a brain injury was definitely front page, wasn't it? Kevin Mansi decided the story was worthy of two paragraphs on PAGE 23, the word Celtic did not appear on the page. At this moment at the Daily Record/Sunday Mail, the Editor is Allan Rennie, the News Editor is Kevin Mansi, the Sports Editor is Austin Barrett, and Peter Lawwell recently signed a commercial agreement on behalf of ra Sellik and both titles. Oh, and the usual suspects continue to refer to both as the, 'Daily Ranger' and the 'Sunday Mason'.
  23. Back in the mid-seventies, the young Convenor of Dundee City Council was George Galloway. The local Polis received information that two Labour Party social clubs in the Whitfield area were being utilised to launder monies from Palestine into specific personal accounts. The Polis decided to raid said social clubs on the same morning to sieze the accounts. As they arrived, both clubs were on fire and of course the accounts were destroyed. Perhaps, the current MP, Jim McGovern might want to provide closure on the issue?
  24. As a then serving soldier, I participated in over a dozen Remembrance Sundays. They were simple and solemn. Reflection was concentrated into a period of just over two minutes. A piper would sound the lament, 'Flowers of the Forest', a bugle played the last post, and a minutes silence ensued. We will remember them. The last Ibrox Remembrance had an element of circus, booming howitzers and abseilers are not needed. We provided an open goal for those who want to portray the Armed Forces/Rangers relationship as triumphalism. Who would have access and considerable leverage to the GOC Scotland? I suspect the shadow Secretary of Defence, Jim Murphy MP. An Armed Forces Day celebration could be organised by the club for a fixture in late Spring, where the solidarity that our support has with those protecting our freedoms can be fully expressed.
  25. There was a most interesting exchange pre-match on BBC Radio Scotland yesterday. Jum Spence was offering his support for the league reconstruction proposals and reinforcing his support on the fact he had a copy of the 19 page paper outlining the case. Jum explained his eyes rolled last week when he heard the current proposal but Stewart Regan convinced him after offering to educate him. It would appear Jum had been educated via the official 19 page paper. Further, Jum explained he had put the paper down in front of his Junior playing son and later asked his opinion? Unsurprisingly, Jum's son was excited by the proposal, "lots of exciting games possible". Jum also backed Tom English's contribution that Rangers had been kept informed throughout the process of preparing the paper ie Rangers had been continually briefed. Jum then further backed English by reiterating that every club was prepared to give up something on behalf of the betterment of the Scottish game; however Rangers were being selfish. At this point, John Robertson at Elgin City's ground interupted and said, "that's interesting that Jim has purloined a copy of the proposal paper, here in Elgin they know nothing about it". Yep, Elgin City, like Cowdenbeath had earlier admitted, had NOT received the proposals, nor any information other than from broadcast sources. It would appear those that need to be educated have been identified by Peter's PR. Jum(and his son), Tom, Stuart, and Graham are in, Rangers, Elgin City, and Cowdenbeath are out. Obviously, there are briefings and there are briefings. Jum was NOT championing the Fans' Revolution yesterday, neither were Tom, Stuart, or Graham. I suspect that bit was omitted from the brifing.
