  1. Peter's pal, Neil has failed to deliver. The baton is now passed to Peter's pal, Stewart.
  2. Aaron Laing's extended family are members of an Easterhouse based CSC entitled, 'the Rocket Launchers CSC'. They are allowed hold their annual POTY dance/dinner at the Walfrid Suite, with their banner tacked to the wall behind their top table. Aaron is a product of his conditioning.
  3. It's a two man, one scene film. Marty Feldman plays Craig Whyte and Andy Serkis reprises his most famous role as Chris McLaughlin. Act 1, Scene 1 : Chris McLaughlin in narrow focus utters, "ah pyoor fcuking hate Rangers". Craig Whyte replies, "ah'm a daftie".
  4. I feel Andy Little has an ability to continually get up the sides of central defenders, his hint of pace over the first 10 yards often gets him away into a finishing position. If we can get a couple of midfielders capable of sliding the ball into those channels, Little may prove as prolific as Jim Forrest. As for Lewis McLeod; well, there can be only one.
  5. As stated above, it was the Board of Scottish Enterprise(Glasgow) that succeeded in bringing the Commonwealth Games to ra Stydome. The expanding cobweb of benefits to ra Sellik has been considerable. The infrastructure around the ground has a new duel carriageway passing within 60-70 yards that links both the M74 and M8 motorways. A new railway station at Dalmarnock(remember free travel on SPT trains and buses are included in ra Sellik season ticket). Further, the Glasgow Underground was meant to be extended to Sellik Park on advice of SPTE CEO, Ron Culley. The Board of Scottish Enterprise(Glasgow) during this period included Wullie Haughey(former Sellik Director), Paul Cooney(former Sellik PRO), Charlie Gordon(GCC Convenor, now an MSP, Sellik supporter), Frank McAveety(GCC Convenor, MSP, now a councillor again), Stephen Purcell(GCC Convenor), Ron Culley(Sellik supporter and SPTE CEO). Specific influence was being brought to bear. Other benefits are massive with the proximity of Sports Scotland with Brigit McConnell at the helm, a velodrome for indoor training, and a state of the art sports science and medical centre. Also, ,let's see what happens after the Games to all that lovely new housing of the Games Village?
  6. The article was stimulated by the appearance of the then First Minister, Jack McConnell on Radio Snyde, hosted by station MD, Paul Cooney. It was the evening of ra Sellik's UEFA cup tie with Liverpool at ra Stydome. Paul Cooney was a member of the Board of Scottish Enterprise(Glasgow). McConnell was on to announce the plans for the Velodrome were ratified and the funding was in place. Further, the Commonwealth Games would be opened and closed at ra Stydome. The relocation of Sports Scotland from Edinburgh to Parkhead was sheer coincidence, ah mean the CEO of Sports Scotland was/is Brigit McConnell(Jack's wife).
  7. The vast majority of that piece was penned by myself some 7-8 years past. It was originally posted on FollowFollow and the thread was prominent for weeks. It is a common error when folks lift the article(and I have no problems with anyone wanting to spread such information) that disbelievingly they change the three streets(Dalriada Street, Kinloch Street, and Janefield Street) sold by the then Glasgow District Council to ra Sellik from the accurate 'one penny' to a pound. It's true, the then Convenor of GDC, Pat Lally was forced to call a full council meeting of all 102 councillors to verify the original decision taken by the Planning Committee. Ra Sellik were allowed to significantly increase their land bank in the immediate proximity to their stadium through the generosity of their supporters on GDC. Both Rangers and Partick Thistle had similar plans lodged with the same Committee to increase their land banks. Rangers had an agreement with Junior club, St Anthonys to purchase their ground for £250,000 and construct a reserve/youth team stadium. Thistle had plans to convert the canal area behind Firhill into a small hotel, leisure, watersports centre. Both these applications were NOT looked on sympathetically by the very same committee, in fact they deliberately stymied these applications.
  8. I note ra Sellik's statement appears to ape US Secretary of State, Cordell Hull's notorious utterance, "he may be a son of a bitch but he is our son of a bitch". The constant failure that is Neil Doncaster has been singled out for unjustified praise. Apparently, his sin is clean. Hull was referring to Rafael Molino Trujillo, the then President of the Dominican Republic. Trujillo was oppressive and corrupt but as long as he facilitated US foreign policy, no pressure was exerted to reform. Neil won't change his behaviour; well, not until His Peterness tells him to do so.
  9. It's forty years since the Centenary Stand was constructed and I find myself wondering if many Bears remember the Derry? The Derry was the piece of terracing situated where the Govan Stand is situated, from the 18 yard line at the Copland to 20 yards after the halfway line. It was truly mental, sang, surged, and thrummed continually throughout a match. I remember a Scottish Cup tie against Falkirk(71/72ish), where a Polis cap was tossed up, down and across the Derry as the match progressed. Against Bayern Munich in the Fairs Cup they sang, 'we sank the Bismark', a game in the sectional League cup they chorused, 'Billy, Billy McNeil' when a stray dog entered the field, and invited all opposition fans, 'to come and have a go if you think your hard enough'. Again, as I wonder; what to an area between the Copland and the Govan known to my grandfather in the 20s/30s as 'Hellfire Corner'? I suppose it proves the Stadium continues to breath and evolve.
  10. Seriously Jum, seriously! It's only six weeks past since you appeared on BBC Radio Scotland telling the listenership that the 17 pages that constituted the 12-12-18 proposals were a major improvement for the Scottish game. You told us that the contents of the pages had genuinely enthused you and inspired confidence. Rheinhart Gordon enquired if the supporters would buy into it too? Well Jum, you got quite garrulous, telling Radio Scotchland that you had already tested that very water. You had given the 17 pages to your junior playing son and allowed him two days to read and digest. Again, he was truly enthusiastic, loved the idea of the middle eight, "aye Richard, really excited, my son thought there were lots in it for the fans". Within several minutes, it became embarrassing as the Chairmen of Elgin City, Cowdenbeath, Annan Athletic, ........... etc came on complaining they had NOT seen the proposals and wondered how Jum and son had been so privileged? Thus, if information is NOT being provided, I suggest that Jum should furnish the various representitives of clubs in the dark with his son's mobile number.
  11. I note the address of 'the Drum' is, 26 Gallowgate. These last 20 years, Glasgow City Council has ensured the bottom part of the Gallowgate is no longer a 600 year old flea market known as the Barras. No, it the world's premier Plastic Paddy Theme Park.
  12. David Miliband's resignation from the Board of Sunderland FC due to the appointment of self-confessed fascist, Paulo Di Canio; is a real piece of sporting integrity. Of course, the fact that Miliband has recently announced his decision to vacate his parliamentary seat and take up a post heading a world-wide charity based in New York would influence the resignation, heavily. It makes you wonder why fellow Labour Party MPs and members of the Cabinet, Des Browne, Brian Wilson, and John Reid did NOT resign from ra Sellik Boards when Paulo was plying his trade at ra green'ngrey? Di Canio's fascist sympathies and actions were well known and documented when he arrived at ra Stydome, but he was presented as a cheeky chappie. His firm belief that Scottish football was dominated by a host of anti-Catholic organisations was well amplified by all the usual suspects. Even when he moved on to bigger clubs like Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham United, he continued the rhetoric to a welcoming Scottish broadcast and print media. He was so lionised that Radio Snyde auctioned off a pair of his (jack)boots for in excess of £30,000. The then Objective Host of ra Show, Paul Cooney was beside himself at the both the generosity and humanity of Paulo. The purchaser, Wullie Haughey(former Sellik Board member and consistently the Scottish Labour party's biggest benefactor), proclaimed the (jack)boots to be his most treasured possession. I mean, if you are prepared to splash £30k plus on a pair of (jack)boots belonging to a fascist, you would think Wullie would want a pair belonging to Franco, Salazar, Benito, Adolf, or pope Benedict? Anyways, I am hearing Paulo is non-plussed at Miliband's resignation. He admits to being hard of hearing and only accepted the post because genuinely, he thought he was taking over Sudetenland.
  13. I remember reading a broad sheet article on him when he was a member of the Dundee Board. It said he was named John Stevenson for the first two decades of his life, discovered his maternal Italian background and became Giovanni di Stefano. Perhaps Giovanni should get together with Phil McNumerousnames? They could form a self-help group.
  14. I am happy to do Peterhead on the 20th April.
  15. If, and that's a BIG IF, this should ever reach a court; I wonder which 'Tommy' would turn up?
  16. Neil and Stu' await Peter's call. When Peter tells them to speak, they will parrot the provided script. Remember last year, Peter and Neil spotted boarding a Heathrow plane at Glasgow Airport. An hour later as they alighted a new SPL TV rights Committee had been formed. Peter and Neil surprised the waiting media with this information; no one was more surprised than Neil to find out he was on a Committee that hither to one hour before, did NOT exist.
  17. Peter lifted the phone and told Record Editor, Alan Rennie to formulate an article mitigating the clearcdrop in attendances ar ra Stydome. Questions are being asked on radio phone-ins and we need to deal with this before our sponsors react. Involve Rangers, a picture is worth a thousand words, use one from last season of an early kick off televised match. Make ra Sellik expearience appear as part of a general trend. Rennie replied, 'yes Sir'.
  18. A very ood mate and long term uber-Bear had Steve Conroy as his GP in East Kilbride. Before Conroy achieved Grade 1 status, he had a picture on his wall of the Lisbon Lions. Simply, he was/is aSellik man. Like Wullie Collum, he realised that hs sympathies would not save him if the vicTims decided he had favoured Rangers. Truly, I am happy to hear Conroy is prepared to take this further, it ill open acan of wors and a clearer pictureof the intimidaion we all supect, mayemerge.
  19. I am happy with the proposed two signings, both bring something currently lacking in the team at the moment. However, surely the priority has got to be the three positions to the right of Lee Wallace?
  20. You gotta love Stephen Thompson. I mean, is he devoid of reality, or is he genuinely stupid? Glibly, he reveals he was on the SPL Board, then off it(he resigned on a point of principle), and now he is back on it. I suspect the proposed 16% rise in remuneration for full time Rangers hating over-rode that point of principle? The thing is, not a single member of the broadcast/print media think to question and reveal why dearest Stephen jumped off/jumped back on the gravy train in a matter of 5 weeks. It is most reminiscent of Neil Doncaster and Peter Lawwell being spotted boarding a plane to London. Forty minutes later, as the plane landed in London, we were informed Neil and Peter were members of the newly created SPL TV rights committee. As yet, we have not discovered who else serves on this very particular committee. Snouts in the Trough Loyal RSC.
  21. I have heard it was Rod McKenzie who argued hard that the SPL had a very good case and he and Harpers McLeod would secure the desired result. Further, Harpers McLeod is NOT in robust financial health, they need the fee and no doubt will argue that an appeal(led by Rod) will prevail. Last night on Radio Snyde, DJ related the tale of a journo friend telephoning Doncaster yesterday afternoon, seeking his reaction to the findings? Doncaster's short, sharp retort was, "it's not an SPL matter". I hope he continues with the same reply to Harper McLeods £400,000 bill.
  22. I have been informed from a usually trustworthy source that Neil Doncaster is out of the country and Lord Nimmo-Smith is currently in Quatar.
  23. I suspect Azure have awarded a 5 year contract to a farm(s) to supply beef. Further, said farm(s) will have a majority shareholder called, 'David E Murray'. ie a one-horse race.
  24. BBC Scotland's evening news has just reported that Pittodrie pies have tested positive for equine DNA. The Dandy Dobbins have withdrawn the usual beef pies and replaced them with pastry encased macaroni. It's pasta joke.
  25. The key to achieving balance on BBC Scotland is to engage off-air with the Producers. Each programme has it's own Producer, they are responsible for both Hosts and guests. I believe Cosgrove is a weak link, he broacasts for a dozen hours each weekend across the schedule. Football, current affairs, arts, music , ........... etc, it's hard to get away from him. even though his message remains constantly the same. He is over-exposed and this should be highlighted constantly. The original article is a good insight and I believe shows a small cabal of Producers have been calling the shots at Pacific Quay for a decade. The names McConville and Muirhead did NOT arrive through the ether, they were suggested, even promoted. By whom?
