  1. "being made aware" Really? What rock has he been living under to not know of how BBC Scotland has been treating our club? He has scored a major OG with this, there must be better candidates available to vote for.
  2. Thats just made it easy to not vote for him then. Anyone going on to BBC Scotland is no friend of Rangers.
  3. I have a great respect for McCann as a pundit. He reads the game well and articulately gets this across to the viewer. Him and Tanner combine well to cover the Sky live games. He will have seen both sides a few times already this season, so his opinion is more likely to be a balanced one than from some other pundits who are only out to make headlines. Cant argue with what he says, we can hope Griffiths has a bad game and our defence doesnt make their usual high number of errors. I dont have a good feeling about the result in all honesty.
  4. But they are a well balanced media outlet with no favouritism shown, and no agenda against the countries most successful club. Honest. Its just them big bad proddies (they of course use another adjective) moaning again with a chip on their shoulder.
  5. Following on from everything we have seen since our fradulent administration of 2012, the papers in this country continue with their blame the victims pursuit of our club. Anyone buying the Record/Mail is positively contributing to our club being demonised, and by these actions I for one will never see these people as true Rangers supporters. Each to their own in a free market, but if buying that paper is higher up your priority list than supporting our club, then you are no friend of Rangers.
  6. Spot on dB. We are in a horrible position now, some of it is our own doing by the Murray empire alienating and ignoring the other clubs, while our rivals cosied up and sought political office in all areas of Scottish football. But these things can change, and we should be working hard in the background to force change, not cut and run because we dont like the current way of things. We are a proudly Scottish club and we belong here. We should be working to ensure the Scotland of tomorrow is better than the Scotland of today, from a footballing perspective.
  7. MW is hardly going to say what I said, even if he knows it to be true. Far too diplomatic for that. A fans forum however, is exactly the place to air these views. It is not derogatary if it is accurate just because you feel differently. Blues Brothers is an outdated piece of nonsense. We have a huge number of fans in NI, (probably in part due to the "pub team" quality of local sides!) certainly not all Linfield fans. Similarly in England where Chelsea fans dont make up our numbers too much either. As I said, I know quite a few NI fans, and none of them bother with my description, so I am comfortable with it.
  8. You feel free to click anything you like WBD, was only saying my POV, which is what Gersnet is for.
  9. My primary school team was taken by a guy with no coaching qualifications who was simply a friend of the headmistress who loved the game and had spare time to give to allow us to have a team. A proper gentleman, I still see him at Ibrox and at away games from time to time. Nowadays that scenario wouldn't be allowed and the guy would have all sorts of whispers about his motives. Sometimes progress isn't good.
  10. Spot on Ian, I never, ever, click on a link to a Scottish paper, and if the article is reproduced as above, I get the info without giving hits to businesses that are against our club. If the article is not copied I do without. Simples.
  11. How would you describe them then? We used to send our under 19's over every year and still beat them. As low as the standard has fallen in Scotland, the standard in NI remains as low as you get for top tier football in any country. I don't get any locals disagreeing with me when I discuss it with them.
  12. In a previous post in this thread I said we should have got a more competitive friendly arranged, behind closed doors even, to try to get a better workout than this jolly against amateurs.
  13. Was checking the racing online there when I come across "Kenny the Captain" in the 3.25 at Thirsk today at a decent price of 4/1 in a 8 runner race with a decent chance on paper. Given his 4 goal captains performance earlier today I couldn't resist a wee cheeky couple of quid on this. Predictably, Kenny was a let down again, meandering in 4th place miles off the pace. Some things never change!!
  14. I know that Craig, we should have declined and used the free weekend to try to find some cohesion and form ahead of next weekends biggie, not a kickabout against a pub team where all we can possibly gain out of it is injuries. Thankfully apart from a head wound for Garner we seem to have come through unscathed. Sometimes we should be looking at the bigger picture IMO. If we were playing St Johnstone next weekend I wouldn't have minded at all about this, but we are not ready for the tims game and we have foregone a good opportunity to try to get ready for it in favour of a jolly.
  15. I see Miller has found his level at last! If only these pub teams across the water had money and we could sell him on! Absolutely pointless friendly if it was for sharpness or a test for our new players, would have got a better test playing an English development side behind closed doors. Good piss up for the Bears, done this match myself a couple of times and it's a great weekend away, but that's not really the point with the OF game next weekend. I thought it would be a 3pm ok so came on to see the team and its all over! Linfield must be even worse than I remember them.
  16. Ok, the window is shut and our business is done. We will have to live or die with the squad we have until January at least. So Gersnetters, pick your starting 11 and subs from our squad. Lets go on the basis everyone is fit and in form, its just a bit of fun. Just keep it to a 4-3-3 seeing as that is what the gaffer does. Foderingham Tav Hill Senderos Wallace Barton Nico Holt Waghorn Garner McKay Subs: Gilks, Hodson, Kiernan, Forrester, Windass, O'Halloran, Dodoo Players missing out Wilson, Crooks, Halliday, Miller, Rossiter plus all the young guns in the U20's who should be pushing through. be interesting to see the variety of preferred options among us.
  17. And downgraded back to no-audio by the time the tims go there again!
  18. While I agree that the bringing in of players for the Academy from all over the place is welcome, at the same time why could we not find a centre half or two for the first team? I am starting to think Warburton believes the ones he has are good players, and cant see what every single Rangers fan can see when it comes to the defence.
  19. There are plenty of tv audio feeds to use, and also the body cams used by the police at these games. This is just a lame excuse because it doesnt involve Rangers. I take it we are free to TBB it up as much as we like at Tynecastle then with no fear of repurcussions?
  20. In other words, his agent has told him to sit tight for now and wait until the window closes and some desperate English club will give you much more money tomorrow than you can get today. He will only sign for us if he gets no reasonable other option.
  21. Everyone who was anyone at that time knew it was Lawwell pulling all the strings to ensure his club got a free run at the title and CL money for a few years. He was quietly lobbying all the other clubs with big promises if they voted his way, as well as ensuring the media agenda was all for throwing us out. He didnt believe his own fans would desert their own club during our period of isolation though. He actually thought they would still pay £600 a pop for a ST to watch a league they were 1/50 to win.
  22. Is there a big domestic game coming up or something?
  23. I was thinking of giving this game a miss due to the travel time and needing to leave work early to get the bus now that it has been moved to Friday night, and then you go and remind me of what I will need to put up with if I decide to miss it. Will probably need to go now!
  24. I get that Pete. What I meant was if you just look at individual errors made, every time we concede a goal it seems to be preventable about 3 or 4 times and only player error allows a chance to become a goal. I dont see the same individual errors from the defenders we have played in opposition to us so far this season. Perhaps just I dont focus on them as much as I will be focusing on our attacking play, not their defending, but I dont recall thinking we only scored due to that bloomer from defender A, or defender B should have stopped that. There were at least 4 individual errors in the Motherwell goal, and at least 3 that I can recall at Kilmarnock's goal. From players not tracking, losing their man, being in the wrong starting position, failing to put a tackle in, etc. It is why I didnt give the same credit to those in pre-season saying it is the style of play causing us to lose goals and when we bring in a quality holding midfielder it will sort itself out. I seen far too many individual errors from W&K last season that were nothing to do with the midfield. Just poor choices from poor defenders. Sliding in when they didnt have to, not tackling when they needed to, showing the forward the wrong side, losing the man by ball-watching. We all seen it time and time again, and it was nothing to do with Halliday or Ball in midfield.
  25. Nailed on we would get ICT on a Friday night. Bet the knobs at BT Sport had a good chuckle about that. Im sure ICT arent happy about it either. The biggest matchday income of the season, with a weekend game bringing in a sell-out of hospitality as well as a sell-out of match tickets, now moved to a far less lucractive friday night slot due to BT paying about a fiver for the rights. ICT arent happy about it, RFC arent happy about it, ICT fans arent happy about it, Rangers fans arent happy about it. But that is all ok so about 80K people can watch it on tv. For games like this, it should only be Sat or Sun tv slots that should be allowed.
