Rangers in danger of looking as ridiculous....
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The Daily Rhebel is annoyed at us standing up for ourselves and outing a clear and obvious bias from the CO. That works for me. The Rhebel has clearly bought into, hook line and sinker, the official celtic line of "know your place hun scum" where we are not allowed to stand up for ourselves, or accuse celtic (and their players) of any misconduct, but just continue to accept the corruption, cheating, and bias that comes through from referees, compliance officers, et al. I have said this repeatedly, the Daily Rhebel should have no press access to Auchenhowie, Ibrox, any of our players or coaching/management team. Any players talking to the Rhebel get a maximum fine. We should put up on the big screens at every home game the message that this organisation is not for Bears. If I ever manage to win a big jackpot in the Euromillions and buy a big stake in our club, this would be in place in the first week. The message it sends out to the rest is very clear, be fair or lose readers/access. -
As an extra point about the game on Sunday, the match day program was a fantastic read. Full interviews over several pages with SG, Robertson, Mulholland as a sort of review of the season, and lots of other smashing bits and pieces. I bought the electronic season ticket last July, so I get an electronic version of the program to download through my Rangers program app usually the day before the game, so can read it while on the way to the game or like this week, while watching soccer Saturday and seeing my coupon get beat as usual! IIRC it was £50 for the season or thereabouts and I would thoroughly recommend it, especially for those bears who can’t get along to Ibrox for whatever reason. You can buy game by game as well but the ST was great value. I will certainly be renewing that ST come the new season.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

Who is Andy Scoulding? Cant be that much of a high profile player if he got a tour from someone this low down. If it was a first team player, surely he would get the tour from SG/GMcA/MB etc. -
Just watching the second goal again, watch it from 62:32 on Sky clock, loose ball on halfway line comes to Broon, who under pressure gets his simple 3 yard pass intercepted by Arfield who plays a simple 5 yard square pass to Kamara, who plays a neat 1-2 with Kent, sells a dummy to Burke and plays a 1-2 with Flanagan, he feels Broon coming in and feigns to go one way and goes the other leaving the most overrated player in Scottish football history for dead, drives forward with Broon still wondering where he went, and plays a ball into feet for Defoe who has the new Caesar tight on him, so Defoe (I’m guessing after a shout from Arfield) let’s it run through his legs and into the box where Arfield runs past the despairing wonder kid Ajer and coolly slots it in the corner to seal the win. A simply stunning goal.

Delighted with the win and performance today, although we must be more clinical. We have made 2 mistakes all game and it very nearly cost us. If Clancy sees Flanagan’s push on Brown, or if it happens once corner is taken, we are playing a man short and they have a penalty. Given Clancy refereed as the Celtic fan that he is, I’m absolutely astonished he missed the chance to get his team back into the game. Then in with under 10 mins to go Flanagan (again) gets caught in a bad area and a few seconds later Burke has a tap in that he sclaffs to allow Wes to make a fine save. Flanagan aside, our team were excellent, but safe to say the bheasts played it like a meaningless end of season rubber and were not up for the fight. I noticed and commented to my mate as they broke out their huddle there wasn’t the usual chest thumping and aggression from them, they just went to their positions to await kick off. I fancied us to win even more at that point! 6 wins on the spin has come too late in the season to matter much, but given it is so long since we found this level of consistency, I am absolutely delighted that perhaps the penny is finally dropping amongst the players and coaches of what it means to represent our club. Make it 7 to end the season next week and we can try to take the momentum into next season. The Killie game will be tough as Killie have everything to play for and we are going to make changes (per SG post-match interview) so squad players will get their chance to prove they are worthy of being included next season. Finally, has nobody made the gif yet of Kampala selling the scumbag the dummy to set up the second goal! What a goal that was!

Gerrard 10 minutes before kick off on Sunday
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Personally, I hope he reminds them of the tims, and Brown in particular's antics, at the last game and makes sure that every single time one of our players gets near Brown while he has the ball that they absolutely destroy him. If this cheat walks off the pitch untouched on Sunday I will be massively disappointed, no matter the score. -
As a fan vlog that would be excellent, add in that it is for a squad player who has hardly had a sniff in 4 months and the enthusiasm and passion Mrs P has for our club is amazing. Thoroughly entertaining 15 mins, not even all about us with some interesting stuff from Budapest thrown in as well as she tours with her family. Loved her comment at Stamford Bridge, "this is no Ibrox"!

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread

I am absolutely certain Morelos will not go to France. Either Spain or England would be my bet, and for not a penny less than £20M, not France which is such an uncompetitive league with PSG (having lost 3 out of its last 5 games and still 16 clear at the top) the only show in town. I dont like the tone of that Ibroxnoise article either, calling this a circus and a soap opera. Its hardly anything of the sort, just a prize asset attracting some attention like is happening at many clubs around Europe at this time of year. -
Graeme Shinnie signs pre-contract with Derby County
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Absolutely delighted to have missed out on this nonentity. He will be back playing for a Dolly/Hibs etc within 18 months, hainvg failed to make a regular impact at Derby, even more especially so if Derby get promoted. -
If we can get 2 wins out our last 2 games, we end up on 81 points. We got 70 last season. A goal difference this season of +54 compared to +19 last season shows a huge improvement too. We havent actually scored too many more goals (3 more to date) but we conceded 50 goals last season compared to 25 so far this season. We made our biggest progress in Europe. After the Progres embarrassment, this year was a magnificent achievement, and was on the verge of being even better. Matching this run next year is vitally important. I wont listen to those who try to claim our Euro adventure affected our league chances. We were level on points at the split, a few weeks after being eliminated, so our failure to win the title is in the Euro-free second half of the season. We simply didnt strengthen properly in January. We brought in a striker and didnt play him, and a midfielder who was miles off the pace and has only started to play once the title had long gone. We didnt bring in the attacking midfielder we have been crying out for since well before SG came in, and our hopes of breaking stubborn teams down died with that decision. The domestic cups is where the SG report card has its big red marks on it. Losing twice to Dolly, one at Ibrox no less, was simply unacceptable. The two performances were abysmal, and this always lands at the gaffers door. To lose once to Dolly in the LCSF was bad enough, to lose at Ibrox in a QF replay is simply awful, the worst result of the season and a real blow to us all. It is in this area that SG must improve next season. OF games can be a 50/50, so if we lose to the tims in either/both cups next season, that can happen, but what must not happen is to lose to anyone else in a cup-tie next season. I will be looking forward to our transfer market activity this summer, there are 4 key positions I want to see strengthened, in addition to replacing anyone we lose to good bids. Left-back (although if todays story that Barisic is up for it and SG/him have no beef then that would be fine for me), a CH to cover to Goldson/Katic, a creative midfielder, and a striker on the basis we pretty much know Morelos is away. If we can improve other first 11 players then great but we simply must get these positions sorted first and foremost.

Clancy is a Rangers-hating bellend, and I think I predicted this after his stitching up of us in the cup v Dolly. We should go full Willie Collum on this cheat. We will have to be so much better than them on Sunday to take anything with this cheat in charge.
-
You might be right, cant recall if it was a 3 or 4 year deal. If only a year left we might not get as much but should still be a 7 figure sum which can be better spent on areas we need improving.

Spot on. I normally have little interest in end of season bounce games, which our post-split games have pretty much been, but this year they are so important as a sign of ambition for a real title push next year. SG has had the fans backing this year despite a lot of mistakes, if we have a similar season next year to this, there will be calls for him to go. Next seasons work has already started and these last few games must be used as a springboard to 19-20. -
Of course it’s conjecture, that’s why I said IMO, i’d Love to see all our players succeed, however after 2 years and a handful of appearances there are several others ahead of him in a position we have lots of cover for.
-
He is just a windup merchant, best ignored. But on the off-chance someone at our club even contemplated doing this, I would genuinely and seriously have to consider my ST renewal. Under no circumstances should we ever do this for that shower of scum, and I wouldn’t ever want them to do it for us either.

While there is officially nothing at stake, we have to prove, to ourselves as well as others, that we can put a consistent winning run together, and make the final points gap a respectable one. We have the chance to make the final gap 6 points, as the bheasts will beat Hearts in the last game, by winning our last 3 games and extending our winning run into next season. We cannot ease up, and if we have nothing at stake our opponents have even less, so no excuses on that score. -
Ha, @buster. great minds and all that!
-
I’m really struggling to think of any, Robert Fleck perhaps?
-
Doubt it, any time you read players talking about this, they tend to be easily led, and they all read the papers, hence why I think my suggestion is close to the mark.
-
Had forgotten all about him. Hopefully he has been noticed at Bury and we can get £2M for him, which is small change for a Championship club down there. He has no future here IMO, we already have much better options and are looking to strengthen.
-
Willie was last seen blindly ignoring a stick-on penalty for Kilmarnock at the piggery just last weekend, thus ensuring his beloved hoops get the 3 points. he may not be able to negatively influence our games any more after being caught cheating, but he can still positively affect the bheasts games with not a peep of debate about it.
-
I may be thinking of the writers award! However the players award is still highly influenced by the mhedia, given players are among the few that still buy tabloid newspapers regularly.
-
Defoe starts (if fit) and Morelos replaces him after an hour. I think we will be told pre-match that Defoe has a slightly tight muscle injury and Morelos starts with Defoe on the bench, thus making it an injury-led decision and not a management one. SG should also take into consideration who the referee is. If it is one of the well-known "haters" then leave Morelos out the action. I would do the same next week against the bheasts.

The annual laughing stock that is the POTY voting. This lost the very last of its credibility in 2005 when they gave it as a joint award between Ricksen and Hartson, when neither would have made the top 5 of each teams best players that season. Celtic had many players who had better seasons than Hartson, and Ricksen had a few decent games for us but was miles behind others for best Rangers player. Since 2005, the list of winners has been laughable, yet it is still taken seriously as a proper award and a reflection of the season about to end. For Kent to make the top 4 players in Scotland is obscene, he wouldnt be in my top 4 for Rangers POTY (McGregor, Morelos, Goldson, Tavernier are by miles and miles the top 4 players for us this season), so how the Liverpool loanee made it onto this list is a strange one. I wont comment on the two bheasts nominated as I dont watch a lot of their games, but if Forrest is the best they have got we should hang our heads in shame that we didnt beat them to the title. McGregor has had a good season from what I hear from mates who follow them and is a fair shout.

Who needs friends eh? Ian McCall doesnt deserve the right to comment on the top flight POTY nominations, an absolute nobody.
