The problem with the press is that they dont know shit, just like the last time. I dont believe a word they print or say. Slightest rumour today is tommorrows fact with foundation and credibility going out the window when it comes to their story telling. Danny lafferty got 14 games on the trot and was absolutely terrible. other than a handful of games in his career here its is a fair to say he aint gonna make the grade using his form so far. fleck on the other hand had a game here, a substitute game there and dissapeared into oblivion. Lafferty is a smith favourite, like whittaker and can do no wrong no matter how badly they play. give fleck 14 games to prove himself and ill wager that well get far more for our money from him out of the two.

John fleck will never grow as a player with his arse on the bench every week. hes had 18 months in the first team squad so surely there has to some sort of rewards after that time. truth is the boy isnt developing at all. smith was the man who stated at the start of the season that the youngsters would be playing a far bigger part in the first 11 this season and fleck was mentioned in the same sentence, but as we know this is not the case. Only Wilson has been given a chance only to be dropped like a stone after some terrific performances. we all know our manager doesnt like to take chances or take a gamble so this may well be the reason fore not playing them. Its a real pity as these two in particular will be busting a gut to play for us and there is nothing i like more than a player playing for the jersey.

Craig im sorry for going of on a tangent from my original post. I got mixed up with a couple of posts and things i was going to write about. On sunday we never had a game plan outside our own 18 yard box. go back and watch the performances through december and compare them to the debacle on sunday. In the games that we won we chased the game and took it to the opposition. We never gave them an inch. we ran at them when we had the ball and hunted them down like dogs when we didnt. we were rampant. on sunday we stood around like fucking manequins and let the mhanks do whatever they pleased. people can make all the excuses about key players being missed and i do acknowledge that they were a big loss but their absence is no excuse for those imvolved to stop playing. Why couldnt steve davis chase down the celtic defence the way he did against dundee united for example? does he need kenny miller to hold his hand? no he doesnt. and nor do the rest of them. i have no idea what smiths gameplan was about but ill hazzard a guess and say that this was another of his dont lose at all costs games. weve seen it all before from our cautious manager, especially when the bigger games come up. rather that take the game to the opposition he tries to counter their tactics and snuff their game out. The bit i really dont understand is why we had to give every celtic player three yards to make a pass or cross. No harrying or digging at their heels. just lots of time and space. and it wasnt just one player. Everyone of them stood back and ball watched. Why were we not getting in amoungst them? Why were we not fighting tooth and nail for every ball, or any ball for that matter? That game for me was every bit humiliating as Kuanus knocking us out of the CL. and i find that very hard to stomach. I left peedo park absolutely fucking seething at our performance and i forked out 108 quid for the privelige. Most telling statement of the day? after half an hour my seven year old son turned to me and said after 30 minutes : Dad if were as bad in the second half as we are now, can we go home early? (he really did say that!) but thats the thing with kids though, they tend to tell the truth and tell you whats in front of them. No bullshit or papering over the cracks. So we adults shouldnt accept the medocrity that smith and the players have been serving up for the better part of this seaon so far. And we should let them know when they do.

correct Ian. im talking about the players who where on the park, not the ones off it. What i witnessed yesterday was capitulation from the offset. They stood back and let a third rate Celtic side run over the top of them. I have never witnessed such a shambles in an old firm game.

Key players out or not our performance was a disgrace yesterday. We should abosolutely no ambition to win yesterday. No movement, no will to win the ball. Just eleven players static watching a second rate opposition run rings around us. Im absolutely disgusted by smiths aproach to this game. We could have made far more effort than we did but he chose to roll over and have his arse spanked. the winds of good fortune and circumstance blow in his favour yet again.

when novo got injured yesterday fleck should have been the obvious replcement. But Smith opted for someone in another position. Smith obviously has no faith in the lad. It was the proper position for him to play but never gave him the chance. I said at the time when fleck came through to the first team that he would dissapear into obscurity and im being proven correct. He will never get a run in the team (or a game for that matter) in his proper position (just like lafferty) and the sooner he realises this the better. get out son while you still have a chance of a decent career. you wont do it under smith.

to be honest i dont think lafferty staying on the park made a blind bit of difference to the game. it always seems that we are playing with ten men with the fucker in the starting 11! As for the goal that got chopped off, I have to say that i cant see anything whatsoever wrong with it. very lucky.
