Im talking outside the SPL. We really should make an effort in the CL and i fear weir in particular will be a weak link. He tired very early in the game last night and we really need someone stronger against bigger opposition.

The warning signs for Walter Smith couldnt be more clearer. Miller aint no Lone striker and Weir isnt going to be good enough for the CL. We need a centre half big time.

I created the past player index but never had the time to update it. Think the last player updated was bob malcom. If someone could point me to a transfers in and out site i will get to it. My original idea was to have an actual database where you could type in a players name and you would get his full record but my knowledge of websites is very basic. If someone could create the database i could certainly input the data. (my wife types 50 words a minute!)

I dont rate gascoigne as a legend. his demeanuer off the park was a disgrace to the club. Weir sets an excellent example to everyone at the club and is a credit to us all. If we win the league this year i would give him legend status.

Couldnt agree more mate. Hamiltons performance was as bad as i can remember of any opposition and we really should have taken 7 or 8 off them. We ended up chatting amoungst our selves through most of the second half and the final whistle couldnt come quick enough. -
They do though talk their players up and try to get top dollar, even if they are shit. they tout Botuc as a 10 mill keeper! we on the other hand accept the first 2 bob offer that comes in. Right now they are advertising McGeady for 15, brown for 12, boruc for 10 and Mcdonald for 5. Dont think for a minute they would get all that but they have a lot of scope for negotiation and bargaining. If you dont ask you dont get basically. We dont ask. They do.

there are parrallels to Alex Mcleishs escapade past the group stages a few years back. we were on a shoe string budget and no one gave us a fighting chance but defied the odds and made it through, deservidly so imo. We even gave villareal a run for their money and had boyd taken the golden oppertunity that fell to him late on the game we could have went even further. I feel that that miss has hindered Boyd. It was a defining point in his career where he should have taken his game up another level but passed the opertunity by and instead struggles to achieve on the mainstage. Had he scored that night and i dont think he would have looked back. My biggest fear is that smith is a one trick pony and will defend for his life again this time round. I just hope he learned his lesson after Kuanus. The early signs have been good so far and we will have Novo, Lafferty and Mendes back in the squad making us even stronger in the comming weeks. Take the game to them i say.

Thats never going to happen though spliff. There has been continuous talk and discussion over the last thirty years about developing scottish football but nothing has actually happened in that time and we are in the state we find ourselves now due to the lack of investment and vision. There is so much much wrong with Scottish football. We struggle with the basics of the game. Continental sides no matter what level always seem to be able to pass and move around the park more comfortably than scottish sides and show our game up for what it is. Our game is inferior to everyone else and its been this way for as long as i can remember. We are still playing the pass and rush game whilst the rest of Europe has developed and grown and passed us by. Scottish football now hangs on to the old firms coat tails financially and if you take the two out of the equasion and leave the others to fend for themselves then there is only one way they will go and that is down. And while the old firm are stuck in Scotland they will never be able to compete at the level they crave in Europe. The quality of our game just isnt good enough.

Im sick and tired of people having a pop at boyd. He actually had a decent game on saturday past but theres no pleasing some poeple. So from now on if you are going to have a go at boyd have a few names in hand who could replace his 25 + goals a season before you have a dig. HES A STRIKER AND HE PUTS THE BALL IN THE NET FULL STOP! Thats all i ask of any centre forward.
