Boyd out of cup final after bust-up with Walter
maineflyer replied to ascender's topic in Rangers Chat
Or the ultra cynical amongst us might suppose this means Boyd is definitely in the starting lineup on Sunday:D -
Boyd out of cup final after bust-up with Walter
maineflyer replied to ascender's topic in Rangers Chat
You're absolutely right mate. But when it starts happening at this late stage in the season, you can't really help wondering why? Some might think the week before a cup final is the ideal time, I'm not so sure. All depends on the truth of the matter behind the scenes and, as frankie infers, why it has been leaked at this time. sniff sniff? -
Boyd out of cup final after bust-up with Walter
maineflyer replied to ascender's topic in Rangers Chat
Or the cynical amongst us might suppose they've agreed a deal to sell him at the end of the season for a handsome sum and this is a simple and cost-free way to quell any reaction from the fans. I ask myself, why now? Why at this precise time, when he could have done the same thing for the same reasons next Monday? Smith must actually believe we will beat celtic on Sunday or he'd never have done this now. It's not as if Boyd wouldn't give him the same opportunity on many other occasions. If we get beat and don't score, Smith will look like a rather silly old tart. Nearly thirty games into the league campaign is a bit fukking late for a manager to start playing hard ball - after the first Kaunas game might have made a lot more sense. -
Hey you, admin primadona, have you got time to be slumming it with us ordinary members, you with a match preview to write and all? Nothing less than the full 500 words will do and it had better be good.

Sorry about that S_A. It's an age thing. Edited above.

The following email arrived, doubtless others amongst you will have received the same. I thought I would share it with those who don't currently hold memberships in case they needed further evidence of their wisdom. So little communication about matters that count, even when asked directly for information, but now an abundance of information about ....... the self-gratification of those who really ought to consider devoting rather more of their energies to addressing issues affecting the people they pretend to represent. Looks like a nice little jolly, no doubt the proceeds will come in handy for .... well all sorts of things. Nice to see the board of the RST hasn't lost its sense of proportion. The Trust is delighted to announce that the date of this yearâs dinner is Saturday the 18th of April. The venue is the Crowne Plaza down by the waterside. Ex-Premiership referee Jeff Winter and comedian Bruce Morton will entertain us, John Gilligan will be our chairman for the evening. More attractions will be announced in the coming weeks. Always a glittering occasion the price per ticket for this yearâs Dinner has been set at a credit crunch busting £50 - a saving of £10 on last year. Tickets can be bought online - here - or by sending a cheque (made payable to Rangers Supporters Trust) to The Rangers Supporters Trust PO Box 3099, Clydebank, G60 9AN As in previous years we have the ability to take deposits ahead of full payment. Keep an eye on the site for more info regarding this exciting event. Please contact us through the site with regard to any questions you may have.

Boyd's worth at least twice that amount. (couldn't find a smilie with tongue in cheek)

Who would you play at left-midfield next week...?
maineflyer replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Ah, no problemo, I'm the last person to get it right in any case. TBO I never even thought about him until I saw you'd added his name. -

My God, it IS a gauntlet. Right, where's that wee Korean IT chappie? -
I look forward to having his availability confirmed. We have enough trouble dealing with balls into the box without having to re-jig the centre of our defence. Even if it is only those asswipes in hoops.

And all of them are mine! Even better odds if you could get away with it. -
I think it's inevitable that McCoist will be announced as the new manager from the end of the season if we win the Scottish Cup. Possibly even if we don't. Smith looks and sounds more jaded with every passing game, just like he did this time last season. Every dog has his day, Walter had his more than ten years ago.
-
Are you including Walter Smith in that?
-
"..... anywhere in the world"
-
The scuttlebutt is that he doesn't particularly see eye to eye with Smithers when it comes to team selection, which is why I asked.
-
I didn't see the game today but I'll echo a question I saw asked elsewhere. Did anyone detect any change in tactics or preparation compared with Smith's teams? Did Mccoist's selections show different thinking and offer any hope of better days ahead? Perhaps those of you who watched it could offer an opinion. Thanks.

Leadership, Responsibility, Belief, Passion, Commitment..

Sorry about that S_A, I'm sure you'll appreciate the temptation I faced at the time:cheers: What was this thread about again? -

Once again, nothing weird about it. People have different height, weight, strength, sight, hearing, knowledge, etc, each of which influences how they act and view the world. Similarly, we all have different intellectual ability that influences how we act and view the world. I just thought it might help in understanding why you make these aggressive posts. I quite enjoy them on a superficial level but I admit I have a little difficulty understanding them. Hope this doesn't set you off on another rant, I'm not trying to upset anyone. -

I does and I think most people does. Whether they'll truthfully share that info is another thing though. -

Nothing weird about it. All it requires is an understanding of the language. I hope you won't mind me asking but what's your IQ? -
When do we start enjoying Celtic's cup exit?
maineflyer replied to maineflyer's topic in Rangers Chat
It leaves us as the only team capable of winning the treble but HOLD ON - hasn't this team been chasing a cabinet full of trophies before and run out of steam. I hope Smith has the sense to know that only the title and hence the CL can save this club from a mighty fall. Cups won't count for shit if we don't win the league this year. -

Thank ye kindly for that. I gather Strachan made a bit of a fool of himself post match, saying to a female reporter that he wouldn't ask her what childbirth felt like if she wouldn't ask him what it felt like getting gubbed by the buddies. -

Not unless they met any of their own fans on the way home.
