  1. There's just no getting through to you people, is there? All you want to do is take evasive action. You want to deflect the point into a discussion about "low blows" or the semantics of exactly what you said when the intent was quite clear. You were plenty outspoken when it was about what you were going to do. You were Billy Bigbaws soliciting opinion and asking what we thought your priorities should be. Now it's no longer about you apparently and I need to drop "that angle" because it no longer suits you to be so visible. It's not me who's going nowhere pal and the lack of knowledge you mention is one of the key aspects of your inability to deliver. If you and your RST colleagues had spent more time talking (and more importantly, listening) then Rangers fans might be a whole lot less informed and you just might have some reason to come across with this smug bullshit. You show nothing but immature arrogance trying to claim the issue is with my Ed personal contempt. It's a pathetic attempt to obfuscate and deflect. I've never attacked you or anyone else on anything other than the basis of your RST performance. Stop trying to create an impression that you're being unfairly persecuted. No one made you step forward, no one forced you to play the hero, so when you and your pals make a pig's ear of it at least have the character to deal with it honestly. If you can't take criticism without making a fool of yourself then at least stop making one of us.
  2. Not much of a response from a big shot who, only a few short months ago, was going to change the world and seemed intent on telling everyone about it too. If all you can come back with is a smiley then you've fallen well short of your initial aspirations but you do at least appear to have made the expected grade in the RST. I'm not aiming at you, I'm aiming at all of you. You're all just getting in the way and you haven't made one iota of difference. How's that for something to smile about?
  3. Outstanding effort ... best laugh for ages. Superb post.
  4. If only the RST would practise some of the reflection you mention perhaps we wouldn't have this continual refusal to act upon the justified criticism it gets. You might want to spend less time considering whether criticism is hard to take and more on whether those currently running the organisation should just admit the futility of their abilities and stand down. The RST certainly is small but I suspect the commitment you refer to is more a statement of intent than delivery. The best the RST board could do for Ranger supporters is to stand down en masse and test genuine opinion through an open ballot that is in no way compromised by association with FF. Offer a temporary three month membership for (say) £3 that would allow any supporter a reasonable opportunity to register and vote for an RST of their choice, before deciding whether what they get is an RST in which they wish to extend their membership. You want credibility - sometimes you have to earn it. How many of you were actually elected? How many of those few elected members of the RST board actually believe they received enough votes to justify their presence? Stand down, clear the decks and give the Trust a chance to breathe. You might not like it but, collectively, the current board no longer deserves to remain in place. If you find the criticism hard to take, try accepting some of it move aside.
  5. Fan ownership isn't a credible solution, it's merely an aspiration without any hope of being realised. How can we even talk about it as a serious possibility when no one that can make it happen is even slightly interested in it and certainly has nothing to gain by it? How do we see this ever happening when we look out on the most disorganised and divided support you're ever likely to see? Long before promoting fan ownership, any fan with a genuine interest in Rangers needs to grapple with the fundamental issues that relate to supporter interaction and cooperation. What owner in their right mind would think of involving this shambolic mess in the running of the club. I'm referring here to the supporters, not the club or who owns it. While we have potted egotists clinging on to positions without any real interest in cohesion or representation, we will not move forward. Until we do, all talk about fan ownership is fatuous and utterly pointless.... and needs to stop.
  6. That's an outstanding point. Rangers have been allowed to wither and diminish to such an extent that the club we imagine really doesn't exist any more. Talk to people overseas about Scottish football and more often than not they mention celtic, whose profile has risen as ours has fallen. I also suggest thge rot has also set in at home where the Rangers support is being steadily eroded. Another twenty years of this and there may not be enough left to argue over.
  7. I've never made much secret of how much I want Murray out of Rangers and I'm hugely disappointed he's still the only power at Ibrox. However, in the absence of any clear plan or consultation with the support, I also find myself greatly relieved that Andrew Ellis has not become the majority shareholder. It's grim but there wasn't the slightest sign that Ellis was going to bring an end to this state of affairs.
  8. Great post Frankie. A pleasure to read and should be much-needed reading for any passing RST board member.... we don't want your excuses any more or talk of change ... it's time to do it or disappear.
  9. I'm glad you posted that. If the RST represented (and I just pick this figure out of the air) say 15,000 fans and worked towards achieving a published and agreed set of objectives then it would have my complete support. Unfortunately we have a secretive, self-styled and apparently unaccountable organisation that appoints rather than elects and has demonstrated a complete inability to evolve.
  10. I'm not blaming them for the state of the club, only irritated at their pointless pontificating about the importance of the RST 'engaging' with the current board. Who gives a shit about the RST, RSA, RIP or whatever else - they have made diddly difference so far and I'd expect that to continue with seamless predictability. Gasbags ain't gonna help anyone.
  11. Now? It was busted the moment it thought it was more important than the people it was supposed to represent - and that didn't take it beyond the first year.
  12. I'm not questioning that McLelland actually said something, only that the fact he did was probably enough reason to wonder about his motives.
  13. I think supporters representatives should just stay out of the way for the forseeable future. They have nothing to contribute that any of the main players is even vaguely interested in, they share almost nothing with the average supporter and serve mainly as a focus for further division and acrimony. Who cares what the RST or any of the other groups think, say or do? They have no stroke, no guts and have generally shown little enough integrity. All they provide is a pointless diversion for many and an absurd infatuation for a small and increasingly irritating inner circle. The day any of these groups are prepared to make a serious attempt at cultivating unity and democracy is the day they should step forward with claims at representation. The way some of them have criticised the club and those involved in takeover activity for lack of communication has been laughable - these are the same people whose RST hasn't been able to communicate openly, honestly or effectively since its inception. The thought that the club directors would have any sensible inclination to sit down with the RST as a constructive move forward displays a level of vanity and self-importance that is beyond comprehension. Stop wasting everyone's time guys, we've seriously had enough of that this summer already.
  14. Well done for posting that but, now that the situation has become clearer, how come you got it so wrong? You obviously didn't intentionally mislead us so did Ellis deliberately mislead you?
  15. I think I might have stopped to question why McLelland was telling me.
  16. Unfortunately, everyone in these deals starts of by signing confidentiality agreements so none of will ever learn what happened from those involved. It was a dirty day when Murray walked into Ibrox and he could now be leading us into territory none of us can live with.
  17. Unfortunately, with the season tickets more or less in the bag, I think you'll find the depressing period is only just beginning.
  18. How can you say that? Who do you think led us to this situation, the bogey man? How can you just absolve Murray? How can you possibly believe that Murray is some sort of paternalistic custodian? Even the most blind amongst us must surely have noticed the association between Murray's ownership and the hapless condition of the club. I'm not shocked but I do feel hugely disappointed that we still have supporters who are prepared to extol this tosh about Murray putting the club's interests first. Murray didn't sell because it's not in his interest to sell, it never was and many of us knew that was always the weakness underlying the 'done deal' brigades claims.
  19. Well said Pete. When all is said and done, this is the fundamental reality we must live with.
  20. Ho fucking hum, how predictable. I hope there are a few "insiders" rushing to phone Andrew Ellis and ask why he allowed them to make such arses of themselves. A few others might want to offer an apology to Wabash for some of the abuse he took. The deal is done ... just another 48 hours ... done by Monday. At least we now know why Walter decided to stay for another year. Anyway, much as I utterly despise Murray, it was increasingly clear that Ellis presented no credible alternative.
  21. I'm not sure there ARE too many facts in this mess. There are what some people believe to be facts, there are what some people want to be facts and there are things sincerely said that would not have been said had all the facts been more clearly known. Then there are those who pedal myths wrapped up as facts. Where the Rangers board, collectively or individually, sit on this spectrum between lies and truth is anyone's guess. Where Murray sits is, strictly in my own opinion, less hard to define.
  22. I know footballers ain't exactly the most sophisticated but that's disgusting. What about the ballboys if it gets on the ball?
  23. Not over the top at all, it's where I and many others have been for a few seasons. But as for being lied to, are you seriously saying that only just started during this takeover saga? We've been treated like muppets for years ... by Murray and our so-called representative organisations.
  24. It's an ego trip alright but probably not that of Andrew Ellis. Where's this 'custodian' who claims only to have Rangers' interests at heart, this owner who 'wants to sell' but only to someone who will safeguard the club. Show me this person and I'll show you a deeply deceitful man who clearly lost interest some time ago. In fact, he's made it abundantly clear that what he actually has at heart is the best price and the best deal for the Murray family. I posted it almost a year ago. Wabash has been drumming away at it consistently. This isn't about the intentions of Duffy, Park, King, Ellis, McColl, or any other name mentioned. It's only about David Murray and what he can wring from any deal. The idea that Northampton_Loyalist or anyone else is bringing anything tangible to the debate by quoting Andrew Ellis, or someone who claims to be Andrew Ellis, is naiive. Go talk to David Murray and then you might have something to say. Why is it, d'you suppose, that no one in this particular Govan Farce is talking to Murray. Not the press, not the unrepresentative supporters' organisations and not the ordinary fan. Who is the only person who has cleared the decks around him and draws neither attention nor criticism? Ellis might be involved in some deal but if he is then it will be Murray's deal and it will be Murray pulling the strings, not Ellis. I hope I'm wrong, I'll be glad if I am, but I think Rangers might have to endure Murray for a while yet.
