  1. To be fair, you might be able to say he's worth more if the manager thinks he is - but you can't say he's worth 50% more than Boyd until May 2011.
  2. You have to wonder if it's good for your health to pay any attention whatsoever to this garbage. Those managing Rangers affairs in all sectors of the business are low-grade hustlers who should never have been anywhere near the club. The media conspires with agents to make sure we look like the third rate amateurs we undoubtedly are and the fans stumble from one cock and bull story to the next. Rangers? A dysfunctional circus from top to bottom ... ownership, management, supporter representation, the lot. God help us, only a complete crisis will sweep away this mess and leave any hope for the future.
  3. I think it's important not to confused 'second best' with 'second most successful'. After Struth, Scot Symon was clearly the next best manager.
  4. OK, you're absolutely right CB, there are three things desperately needed at Rangers and the third of them is an honest, transparent and coherent relationship with the support. This will also require David Murray to be gone.
  5. We ARE in far too much debt and it really DOES need to be repaid. There's just no getting away from that, it's what must be accepted at the very moment that money is borrowed. Paying back our debts isn't the problem, it was getting into such debt in the first place. Don't look at Lloyds as the enemy, look instead at the incompetent bastard David Murray, who oversaw the borrowing and failed utterly to manage the club's finances. Of course there needs to be a sensible balance between redeeming the debt and managing the club's ability to generate income going forward but please do not lay blame at the door of those from whom we borrowed money. I look at what's happening today at Rangers and have to say that the only sensible financial policy in recent times seems to be coming from the bank. I don't like what it means for the team but it is one of the two things that desperately needs to be done ... the other being to get David Murray the fuck out of Rangers once and for all.
  6. As usual in all things Scottish, the SFA is inhibited from the top down. George Peat cuts an entirely preposterous figure, lacking any credible experience himself but free to exercise influence over the national game and to cast it in his own terms. As long as we have people like George Peat looking for the solution, there will be no solution. Scotland hasn't qualified for a major finals in 12 years. Our ranking is poor, our results are frequently worse, and teh SFA's ability to organise and fund the wider game is little short of disasterous. rbr uses the only justification for George Peat and God knows how many other parasites continuing to strangle football in this country ... self-interest. Otherwise, how could they possibly justify continuing in office?
  7. Though it could be true, on the basis of all evidence, I see no reason to believe a word of it.
  8. Absolutely right, they're a bunch of bastards who couldn't give a flying one for the fans, with Murray guiding the entire affair.
  9. We're never going to agree on this but fair do's to you for sticking to your guns.
  10. So you don't accept the timing of the mythical Ellis bid and his subsequent silent disappearance was entirely orchestrated to maintain ST sales ... the same as we've seen season after season before? You can twist words all you like but no one called anyone a mug or a sucker for getting behind the team - only for propping up rank bad management by buying season tickets that were sold on manifestly false pretences. Acquiescence to what are basically fraudsters running the club isn't clever, no matter your love for the club itself.
  11. It's amusing to see there are still fans out there who think the people running the club are in the slightest bit interested in what you think. Or that those running fans groups are fit to tie their own shoelaces, let alone represent you. Surely after all these years of being taken for granted and treated like cash-cows, the penny must be close to dropping. Mugs, suckers and used goods. That's us and that's what your season ticket money is helping to ensure we continue to be.
  12. I feel particularly sorry for the poor bastards who forked out for season tickets immediately before Murray announced his non-departure and started the fire sale - it's a lot of dosh to watch the youth team get humped.
  13. Is it the same with things you hope do not happen?
  14. Building a great youth convetor is admirable but we don't have the management to make it happen. And while the introduction and development of younger players is much needed, it cannot possibly be done instead of the transfer market, only as well as. Anyone who seriously supposes we are in the business of sacrificing success for style is deluding themselves. The development of our own youth players should be a means to achieve success, not defer it in the hope of a miracle later on. We need to be very careful we don't start believing that the dreadful mismanagement of the club can somehow be swept under the carpet on a tide of hope that wholesale conversion to self-sufficiency will save us. Youth development is only plausible as an integral part of an overall club development programme, not as an alternative to it. However, I have almost no doubt the present incumbents will make a complete arse of anything they get their hands on, including youth development. From the boardroom to the dressing room we are frankly rank rotten, an embarrassment to 138 years of history.
  15. I've never been in the position to play for Rangers and never will be ... but I believe if I were and another club offered significantly better pay or prospects, I would have no hesitation in leaving. When you become a professional footballer you leave behind the things that motivate the supporter.
  16. But that's the whole point of being a professional..... why then should we criticise? It's like criticising a ggreyhound for being fast or a tiger for having stripes.
  17. The OP is baseless. Face facts ...... You want loyalty, sign amateurs. If you sign professionals, drop this nonsense about loyalty, the two are essentially mutually exclusive. Otherwise, enjoy your time in dreamland.
  18. It's an interesting idea, looking for clarity and truth in anything to do with Murray. It might also be pointless.
  19. Six Champions League games to watch Rangers get humiliated in front of the world. That'll be fun.
  20. This paper stuff is pointless drivel. The coming season will be brutal, we all know that without reading newspapers. I think we should all just focus on the cricket and the golf because when the football season starts again there may not be much to enjoy. Here at last may be the bottom of the hill we've been sliding down for the last decade. For me, all hope evaporated when the rat Murray announced he was no longer actively pursuing a sale of the club (as if he ever actually had been, cheeky bastard).
  21. There's no other way to see it I'm afraid. Too much time already wasted fretting about Muir and the bank.
  22. Celtic isn't our problem. Maybe this will be the season when Rangers fans at last find a voice and the will to use it. I think it will certainly be one where we need to.
  23. The only transfer we really need is the one we're no longer going to get, apparently.
  24. OK I'll be more specific, I don't think he will play for Rangers again in a competitive game, regardless of what newspapers are writing, which I haven't read.
