  1. Have you actually READ a single word of my posts or are you just looking to carry on arguing regardless? If the truth be told, I didn't really want to get involved in any of these RST threads because I can see that (unlike myself) many fellow bears hold the RST and similar associations as close , and in some cases (it appears) closer, to their hearts as the club they are supposed to be SUPPORTING. No dissrespect meant then when I say that it's all fools gold at the end of that line. Just, don't say you weren't warned.
  2. Well that just goes to prove my point. Some supporters groups are deemed as more important than others. Purely because of organisational structure and media pressence portraying a false sence of supreme loyalty. For instance, considering they're (or were at least) up for a place on the board, how many RST members do you think were given this preferential treatment? The fact is that this situation is our own doing. We've allowed them (in some cases elected them) to gain this stature. Yet, we turn round and point the fingers at Murray. I don't support ANY supporters group. I support Rangers and all I'm asking is for others to do likewise.
  3. Besides, what I'm saying is that we don't need an RST or similar group as they're just setting themselves up like a bunch of skittles. We as Rangers fans are already a 'group'. At the end of the day we're all football fans ...no more and no less. Our club relies on our support, be it financial or just by the f**king noise we can make. IMO the RST hasn't been making the right noises (others would undoubtedly dissagree). Personally I think a Gersnet Group would do a better job than the RST and going by the general lack of cohesion on here, I think even that would be a completely fruitless exercise. So the question remains. What do we as supporters actually need? Do we need representation on the board at Ibrox? Do we need idots constantly speaking for all of us as a collective only to trip over their own shoelaces? Do we need alcohol fuelled rampages on the phone-ins? I say all we NEED to do is OPEN OUR EYES. See what is going on and fight fire with fire. It's either that or do nothing and maintain some level of dignity. The choice is yours.
  4. As I don't have any 'dough' to contribute to that baker shop, I'm sure they wouldn't be interested.
  5. That brings me onto another point about the RST.... If some of those who've resigned are complaining about a 'more militant' approach, I wonder what they mean by this? As far as I'm concerned, I hope it means that some folks are going to get a taste of their own medicine. The fact is that half this RST lot don't even realise the age we're living in. How politics and politicians conspire against us ; How the media has evolved with new technology ; How easy it is to make a group of people, be it the minority or the majority, look bad in the eyes of the population. I just hope it's not more of the same, because IMO the RST have been sadly ineffective so far.
  6. Like I said before, it's no longer about defending the fans or fans defending themselves ...it's gone way beyond that!! Anyone who tries to defend Rangers fans in the media ATM is on a hiding to nothing. They'll just be missquoted and made a fool of. In this case you really need to show a bit more tact. Wake up!!
  7. I guess that would be roundabout the time he paid for our away trips in Europe last season. Of course he then had that thrown back in his face with the cost of the home games. Not to mention the missbehavin There's just no pleasing some folks
  8. I can see it now... CA - What kenna peh's this wur makin Gordun? GR - Charlie!! Stop eating all the f*king pies!!! KB - This wine's f**in mental maan GR -
  9. Wonder how much it would cost to sign Diego from Bremen.
  10. I must be a f**ing psychic http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1339972,00.html Just remember you heard it here first
  11. surely even Bain couldn't be that stupid It is a worry though. As soon as prem teams show serious interest (they DID only bid £3 mill) in Davis, our chance of getting him is fading fast.
  12. At the end of the day, you can't fight guerilla warfare by 'conventional' means Does that mean we should fight fire with fire ...f**ed if I know. What I do know is that I don't want to be labelled as paranoid scum like 'others' were in the past.
  13. Hey don't get me wrong. As far as the press (or mhedia) are concerned I've no doubt whatsoever that the RST have been constantly missquoted, but then that's the issue really - THEY HAVE NO AGENDA OTHER THAN BEING HEARD. They consistently make a fool of themselves and as a result ...ALL OF US. While the other lot would have you think that Murray & Co. have a mafia-like grip over ALL that you see & hear in this country, it couldn't be further from the truth. That kind of talk is AT LEAST a decade out of date and meanwhile our club is doing what it can to maintain it's dignity (preferably ON THE FIELD) and if that means holding you're f**ing toungue then so be it.
  14. I would agree that I expected more of a retaliation from the club (or Murray and Bain as you put it) at times. However, if they had taken anywhere near the sort of stance (if you can call it that) that the RST has taken on certain issues, then I really WOULD see cause for concern.
  15. I honestly don't know what the script is with these 'modern balls' as I haven't played with one yet. I've heard keepers complaining about them but not much more than that. I would think that from what I've seen ...keepers being caught off-guard from 50 yards ...not to mention that Naka effort (no please don't) that it would be an advantage with regards to free-kicks at least. As for the corners, hitting the first man has been commonplace for some time, although we did manage to do just that far too often last season, whether it be Fergie, Davis, Novo, Adam or Beasley the culprit. It does seem our height dissadvantage in the box was a real issue also as (McCulloch asside...and Boyd ...when he was playing ...or Cousin ...when his head was in the game) our CB's were the only aerial threat. In fact, as a result of this, giving us a corner in some cases gave the opposition more of an advantage. Then there's the short corners, which given our (injury) situation at times, would possibly have been more effective - that's IF they weren't wasted just as frequently. Of course this is all getting a little bit OT, so maybe it's best to discuss in a seperate thread. Brahim, if you're reading this (well you never know:D ) You should know we all rate you highly and wish you well this season.
  16. What ...Like they should've been doing with set-pieces last season?? I've never seen so many wasted free-kicks (and especailly corners) as I did from our lot last season. IMHO if they need to be working on anything, then THAT sticks out like a sore thumb. At times it seemed like the opposition was thinking (at least if they'd seen us play) 'well who gives a f**k if we give them *teen corners...they'll f**k them up anyway' Don't get me wrong, I love watching us play - I don't buy into all the negative tactics bulls**t - but I think I've just summed up in a couple of posts what REALLY pi$$ed me off last season.
  17. TBH I liked the look of him when he was played at CB. As much as our defence deserved the credit they took last season, we still leaked too many goals and it seems my opinion of a 'clearance' differs somewhat from the Scottish football commentators & media pundits. The amount of times I got frustrated with our CB's last season (esp. Weir) heading the ball straight back to the opposition, only to be praised for it. Hemdani was a master at keeping a cool head and retaining possession while clearing the ball. It might have been a bit scary for us fans at times, but if he'd had a decent partner in there like Cuellar, I'm sure he would still be playing as CB. Having said that, his best position should probably be as a defensive mid which is why, when he was deployed as just that, I was so dissappointed with him last season. He won our fans over with his crisp and reliable passing and yet last season he seemed to be out of sorts. To be fair to him, I think the fact that he wasn't once given a decent run of games, but instead constantly thrown in at the deep end (Europe), didn't do him much justice. I can't see his situation changing this season. Maybe I'm wrong and WS has other things in mind regarding formation and tactics, but I get the impression that he doesn't think BH is suited to playing in the SPL. If that's the case then he has no chance of a contract extension and could be used even less this season before leaving on a free. Personally, I hope this doesn't turn out to be the case as, just going by his CV alone, he's actually one of our best players.
  18. Have to say though Jon, Judging by the clips, some folks might get the wrong idea about you Any chance we can have some clips of the goals?
  19. I have never understood the aims of the RST. Through their comments in the printed press, on the radio and internet I've always found them to be nothing short of an embaressment. They have attacked our club and chairman more than they have shown support. They have fallen short in their defence of our fanbase at key moments over the past few years. In fact, all they seem to have achieved is a capabilty to be heard as a self-proclaimed representation of Rangers fans as a whole. Trouble is, that most of what they say does the image of our club and it's support no good whatsoever. They appear to court controversy time and time again, purely with this single aim in mind and give no thought for the damage they are doing in the process. I for one would be delighted to see the end of this group of jumped up wanabee dictators.
  20. ...and one other thing I think you've just pointed out that he's good at beating offside traps. Another gold star for Boydy.
  21. Well if you'd taken the time to read my post properly I'm sure you'd find that I said that 'I find it hard to believe'. I wasn't stating a FACT or claiming that I could provide evidence to the contrary. However, if you're trying to tell me that Scotland's best goal scorer never has to lose his marker or beat him to the ball, then once again, I say that I find THAT hard to believe. If you are in fact correct and he never has to take a touch before scoring (ie. his first touch is in the back of the net) then he surely deserves MORE credit than you're giving him. He has scored a reasonable amount of penaltys and free-kicks but that must easily still leave around 50 goals unaccounted for.
  22. With a goals tally like Boyds, I find that very hard to believe. Besides, I'd maybe understand your point if he was supposed to be playing on the wing, but through the middle this shouldn't really be an issue. What should be an issue is putting the ball in the back of the net and, when given a chance, he's the best in the country at doing just that.:box:
  23. The trouble is that if you've got senior citizens in your squad you need to keep them match-fit and motivated otherwise they're not much use as they'll struggle to find form and keep free of injury. Having said that, it is a testament to the physical fitness of both Weir and Dailly that they could be left out in the cold for so long down south and then come in and do a job for us over so many games. I'm glad they're still with us.
