When their board positions (and control of the Club) weren't on the line they held the AGM in a cheap tent on the pitch as far away from the fans & shareholders as possible. Now that they're holding an EGM called by Dave King to remove them and appoint a new board, they're holding it in London at an astronomical cost, again as far away from the fans as possible, but this time as close to the 'city' and institutional investors as possible, presumably so that they can wine & dine and try to butter up some of the investors ahead of the voting. You have to wonder how many brown envelopes stuffed with cash will change hands in swanky London restaurants leading up to this EGM.

It's a shame some of the clowns running the Club over the past 3 to 4 years have got within an inch of them, but I like the current Club tie a lot and I like the matching silk neck scarves worn by some of the ladies who work for the Club which are based on the same design. I don't think it's even a recent or a completely new tie & scarf design either because I've seen some female neck scarves using a very similar design, but with slightly different shades of red, white & blue and different thicknesses of diagonal line which looked quite old, almost vintage in fact. Here's a photo of 9 Rangers ties that someone was selling back in 2012....

There are no depths to which these people running our Club won't stoop. To a man, they are an absolute disgrace to Rangers Football Club.

For every Carragher or Neville there's a clown like Charlie Nicholas or Phil Thompson in the Sky Sports studio and some of their pundits reporting live from matches are a total and utter joke.

Quick heads-up that forum avatars will be offline for a period this evening while some more forum optimizations are being done. This shouldn't affect any other forum functionality at all and everyone's avatars will be back online asap.

He might not be a tactical genius and he never seemed great in interviews (to be brutally, absolutely, completely honest), but he's certainly more articulate and got a better TV presence and character than half of the muppets employed by Sky Sports!!!

Seconds Out: Dave King v Mike Ashley – the Big Fight continues
Zappa replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
That was a really good read Frankie. One thing which stands out for me is that Dave King seemed to be playing down the role (or importance) of institutional investors in their plans for moving forward and he certainly didn't make it sound as if they'll be literally depending on continued investment from them. I guess that makes sense as well, since in the space of less than 2 weeks he and the Three Bears snapped up more than a third of the company and out of the hands of the biggest institutional investors we had. That said, there are still some big investors looking for longer term returns whose continued investment (in further share issues) should probably be encouraged and welcomed given the task ahead and the vast sums of money the Club is going to need. -
That sort of rhetoric isn't acceptable here Rab and you know it fine well, so rein it in please.

Maybe it was written by the reporter lass we signed from Newcastle.....

Aye, you're probably right mate. This whole mess is just starting to wear me down and I'm losing patience quickly here. What we really needed on the football side was either for Ally & Kenny to NOT resign like they did and not only stay on, but rescue the season and get promotion... OR.... We needed Ally & his assistants to walk away with a clean break and put the onus onto the Rangers board to appoint a management team capable of lifting and reorganising the team enough to rescue the season and get promotion.
-
The difference is that 95% of us could only dream of managing Rangers (even as caretaker manager/coach under shite circumstances) and most would jump at the opportunity in a split second under any circumstances. Kenny on the other hand, didn't look like he wanted it, resigned after 3 matches and yet is still here getting paid, but saying he's happy to do his job which is just not right. I'm not blaming Kenny, but this whole thing with the manager & his assistant resigning, but still getting paid and Kenny still actually being here as caretaker manager/coach is a total mess and it's something we really didn't need.
-
The major downside here is that these public revelations from Kenny and all the extra fuss which is now being made about these players increases the chance of a dressing room divide and serious unrest in the squad. Thankfully the 'Rangers old guard' (as Willie Vass put it today) players can't down tools, since it looked like they did that months ago.
-
Agree on your second point, but I don't think Kenny was being completely honest in that presser. He tendered his resignation after only 3 matches in charge, so to keep saying that he's been and is still happy to do his job and carry out the duties asked of him is clearly not true or the very least twisting the truth. If he was being truthful he'd have said that he tendered his resignation last month because he didn't agree with what was going on, didn't want the job and that he was currently just working his notice period because he was contractually obliged to do so unless he had walked away with no severance or pay-off.

When will this shit ever end?
-
I'm really not sure. It's not easy to keep up with these snakes, their misleading announcements/statements and their frequent corrections to previous announcements/statements.

It's not the first time we've brought in a bunch of loan signings to bolster our squad and it certainly won't be the last time either. The SFA have sanctioned it, so let's get on with it, get their names on the magic clipboard and see what the lads have to offer.

Clear as mud, but it's pretty clear that they're playing funny buggers again.
