  1. Of the pair,Bartley excites me most. It hurts to say it but we were bullied in midfield the last two of games. We need a bit of grit in there. Whether Walter plays him on Sunday or not is another matter but good to see the lad getting off to a good start
  2. I will always treasure his great goal against celic. The player Valdes who went off injured against Olhanense could be a loss to them if he is not fit. I hope we don't play to contain them or give them to much respect on Thursday. They are there for the beating
  3. There was a time when I would have argued that controversial refereeing decisions balance themselves out over a given period. However, imo the pressure applied to the referees by celic by there continuous campaign of "clarification" and their bullying tactics towards the spl has worked in their favour. I honestly believe that celic will now get the benefit of any 50/50 decisions.
  4. Good article. The main point covered, for me,is the one of him maintaining his composure. It is now obvious that he is going to be a target for the wind up merchants, Brown in particular. There is no doubt he has brought a touch of class to the team but it is imperative that he walks away from any incitement. He is a mature player and hopefully he uses this maturity to his advantage.
  5. My hatred of this club grows almost daily. Add to that if it was our players saying these things then it would be on the six o' clock news. An utter disgrace of a situation
  6. Hope he makes a quick recovery. Against Motherwell we could replace him but we would miss him next week
  7. Vladimir had a dreadful game and seemed to be directed inside too easily. Room for improvement next week
  8. Not getting into the rst debate tonight, just to say this has been a great thread. Cheers
  9. It was great to see this. I actually wondered if it was one of the soldiers who dropped their scarf at that end which was later shown as a scarf thrown onto the pitch from a fan???
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if we do have one or two players pulling out of the squad through injury/knocks after today
  11. Good to be positive Danny. I really hope you are right.
  12. Valencia are a quality side who have the ability to punish us for any small mistakes we make. I would love for us to be even a little more attack minded at Ibrox but against a team of such quality we have to stifle and stop them playing.
  13. The big lad should move on from this but be reminded that he will need to be more careful in future
  14. Hoping for a nice sunny day with a slight breeze to allow OUR flag to flutter and sadden the eyes of the watching scum. Cough cough, anyway Killie should be a good game to kick off our season
  15. I can only talk for the impression and feedback I get from fans I know. The vast majority have no time for the trust. I often wonder if certain board members are aware of the depth of animosity towards them from the general fan. I would be glad to see the trust disband and another group entirely take up the mantle. I like Zappas idea of a body working with the fans where there are no membership fees, but outlining from the start that raising funds for future fan participation in the running of the club will be necessary and let a model develop from there.
  16. There is far more to this statement than meets the eye. There is a gulf of a difference between not actively seeking a buyer and not for sale. I would not be in the least surprised if Murray listened to Ellis and his proposals for taking the club forward, and obviously making money for himself, and thought "Hmm, I could do that" Who knows? If I am to take the statement at face value then I am sickened that Murray will still pull the strings.
  17. Weir continues to confound me. I honestly thought this season would have been too much for him yet he has been an ever present stalwart.A huge well done to him and I suspect that being the type of man he is,he will acknowledge when it is time to hang up the boots
  18. A lot will depend on our financial position come the end of the season. We haven't been a buying club for a long time and if we are going to be relying on the youngsters coming through then we will have to be able to offer them good terms or they will leave. It's all a bit of a waiting game at the moment
  19. Good point. What I would like to know is why are the current board of directors being let off so lightly in all of this?
  20. A good post NL and made in the correct spirit. My problem is that I don't really know what we are protesting about and what outcomes we require. Is it against Muir? Is it against the bank? Is it against the whole board who have been intransigent throughout? We need to be specific and I don't see this at the moment.
  21. Better for the than not getting into first team. A bit of experience can do him no harm.
  22. Never heard of the lad but good luck to him. Our squad is so thin just now that any signing, within reason, is welcome. Who knows we might uncover a gem
  23. This reflects the way things are for us at the moment. A couple of seasons back I continuously moaned that we weren't seeing enough home grown players. Now it seems that as soon as one of the youngsters has a decent few games then he wil be offski
  24. A very good post. I am a member of the trust and to be honest I am getting fed up with their whole attitude
  25. Copied from a thread on another site Here's what Kane of Lloyds had to say about Rangers House of COMMONS MINUTES OF EVIDENCE TAKEN BEFORE SCOTTISH AFFAIRS COMMITTEE. BANKING IN SCOTLAND. Wednesday 9 December 2009 MR ARCHIE KANE Mr Davidson: Can I just seek confirmation that Lloyds is not run by Celtic supporters who are trying to do in Glasgow Rangers based in my constituency? Mr McGovern: Can I just ask, when are you actually going to pull the plug on Rangers? It would make me happy. Q300 Chairman: I think these are the most difficult questions! Mr Kane: Do you want me to respond? Q301 Mr Davidson: Yes. Mr Kane: Normally we do not discuss individual client relationships. The Rangers Football Club is clearly high profile, high media coverage and we understand the importance that Rangers has, not only in Glasgow, but right across the whole of Scotland, and internationally it is an iconic brand. We have a facility with Rangers and, clearly, we are working with them to try to ensure that Rangers gets through the issues that it is facing at the moment and comes out and is successful in the future, but we do not interfere in the management of Rangers, we have nothing to do with the management of Rangers, we do not appoint people to the board of Rangers and we want to try and make sure Rangers comes out of the position it is in, the same way we would treat any one of our clients. Q302 Chairman: Thank you, Mr Kane, for your attendance. Once again, I am sorry that we started late. Because of this, there are some questions we were unable to ask. The Clerk of the Committee will put those questions to you in writing and we would be very grateful if you could give us written answers to those questions. Thank you once again. Your evidence was very helpful for the Committee. Mr Kane: Thank you, Chairman. I would be happy to respond to any written questions. Chairman: Thank you. http://www.publications.parliament.u...iii/uc7002.htm
