What A ludicrious thing to say we have been after him for weeks, yet they see no point in replacing him? Rapid are becoming even more pathetic, although I did hear that reason yesterday and thought the same as what I am posting now. I hope he does otherwise it would not look good on most parties of this transfer.

@rbr, I know things should have been concluded weeks ago, but the extra CL cash might have been needed to tie up the deal. Rapid have been totally useless to try and strike a deal with price went up, delays and now moving the transfer to suit themselves. When they agree a price and allow the player to talk to us, really selfish. I don't want the player to go on strike but if he does this surely would mean they would cash in.

They are quite odd, court dates and then signing a person on �£70k-80k a week. Wonder how much Man City will be paying Bellamy considering they went to court about money.

There is a confusing situation about it but I believe if he does play then he won't be eligible for the CL. Or it could be if Rapid qualify for the Europa League group stages then he won't be eligible its one of those 2...

Yeah, he could just do that but then Rapid would be even more akward and withdraw from the deal with us. So many situations that can happen but I'm hoping one way or another we find out soon.

We do need a winger or 2 but don't seem to be getting our targets. I could see a few of our strikers playing on the wings all of this season maybe even Davis might be put out wide . However we need the right players to play in the position rather than move them about all round the pitch.

Rapid are a joke to try and deal with moving certain areas to suit themselves and delays after delays. A transfer is a transfer you agee a fee you let the player go ffs. As sort of what Frankie says wake me up when this deal is over rather than the window. @Pete I'm not sure that would be best idea he could end up doing to us at some point. Hatem Ben Arfa has done it and I can't see him going to Newcastle.

Benalouane can play on the left, which I have heard. Webster only has a year left and not sure whether it would be sensible to offer him a new deal considering his injury plagued past.

I feel slightly the same about the EPL as we won't get value for money for over 30 year olds for a start. EPL's bubble surely to burst soon? I agee with SPL they are seriously not value for money unless they are exceptional and Goodwillie has not been. -
Unsure about the Russians, not even sure Murray would sell to them. Could be a Mad Vlad or a reasonable charcter like Abramovich but I don't think this is a goer.

What a joke the whole thing was, Rapids handling and our handling back and forward for nothing tbh. Very annoyed and 2 players I'm not keen on either wonderful times. Could they have not waited to see what Rapid said about Jelavic's pay off? I thought we were meant to be patient, although we were too bloody patient with the amount of delays Rapid put in place, those 2 players seem to be panic buys imo. Oh and so Beattie will want a pay as well...

Full backs would have been my second choice after wingers. This is only the second time we have been linked with a full back iirc.

Thomson probably was on a lower wage than McCulloch so expected a pay rise where as McCulloch would not. -

If I'm owed money I would want it. However if I could maybe earn or exceed the money I'm owed I would probably haggle to a price that would be reasonable however you never know that you will make that money. Thomson wanted a pay off from us as well.

So are we expecting one to play in defence and the other in midfield if Jelavic signs? I thought we were going after a defender, midfielder and a striker but we have only went for strikers...
