All right for some, though next to New York (where I've been a few times out of necessity and hate with a vengeance), I think Vegas is the least appeaiing place in the US from my personal perspective. I would be interested to see Utah.

It was a bit to be fair, Craig, but he is a good friend and I've had dinner and watched games with him on TV a few times. It is really interesting when you get all the whys and wherefores of tactics from an experienced coach. I am hoping that IF we got a group to go to a Malaga game he would agree to meet us. His English is a lot better than my Spanish.

I know nothing of such things, I have heard of Hooters and even been in one and was unimpressed but I don't know anyone called Charlie.

Yes I do. You can fly to Malaga quicker than you get to some of the places we have visited in Scotland in the last 3 seasons; I don't see it as any kind of hardship for our fit young lads. That said, I have asked my friend Antonio Tapia, who was the coach before Pelligrini and he says he has no knowledge of it.

I think this is entirely feasible because: Weekend of Saturday July 25 – Petrofac Training Cup 1st round Weekend of Saturday August 1 – Scottish Premiership begins Weekend of Saturday August 1 – Scottish League Cup 1st round Weekend of Saturday August 8 – Scottish Championship, League 1 and League 2 begin Read more at http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/start-dates-for-201516/#bYItDyS3KldlzF37.99 I have been meaning to suggest a Gersnet trip to see Malaga for some time now. The difficulty would be finding a suitable date during the season when Rangers had a less attractive fixture say away from home and Malaga were at home but even then it is difficult because la Liga only announce the games for a weekend and do not announce the actual date and KO time until a few weeks before. That said La Rosaleda is a nice stadium surrounded by bars and they even sell drink from vans across the road from the ground. Los Malaguistas are a friendly bunch and I have worn the colours there with no problems on a number of occasions. I have done a bit of googling and right now you could get an Easyjet flight out on the Tues and back on the Thurs or Fri for £215 and a decent 2 or 3 star hotel for around £40 - £60 a night so cost would depend on length of stay and whether or not folks wanted a separate room or sharing; but a 3 night trip would work out around £300 sharing or £400 single occupancy. Could be done for less if we take a hostel . However a lot of the hotels only have one or two rooms left. Fuengirola is a viable alternative because there is a direct train to Malaga and the ground is only a half hour walk from the main Maria Zombrano station or less than 10 mins in a taxi. We could set up a stadium tour and the culture vultures could take in the Picasso Museum http://www.museopicassomalaga.org/ or the Thyssen Museum http://www.carmenthyssenmalaga.org/en which is better IMHO. Anyone up for a trip if the game goes ahead?

Belated thanks to Zappa for all his efforts and occasional rulings on this thread. I must say I found it very difficult to make sure that my head ruled my heart on a number of occasions, especially v Celtic (when it did) and the last game v Motherwell (when it didn't). Nonetheless delighted with a Top 6 finish after going straight into the Premier League and competing against all you seasoned campaigners; but disappointed to have missed a ton of points by 1 and still "furious" at Black for his stunning last minute "extra" goal at Falkirk that cost me 4th place!

I'd hazard a guess that he scored most of his goals cutting in from the right and shooting left footed. I think that's where he could do most damage. He does tend to flatter to deceive a bit in the no.10 role IMHO.

Unquestionably our best player or at least best attacking player in the second half of the season. 8 goals and 2 assists in 15 league games plus 1 in 1 cup tie. So he scores better than a goal every other game in regular competition. Yes, he didn't cut it as a goal scorer in the play offs, but still had 2 assists in the 6 games. IMHO he needs to improve his strength and fitness but he is a quality player and I would back W&W to get the best out of him. If we can get him for a modest fee and a reasonable wage, I'd jump at the chance.

I've spoken to some friends who are more in touch with the almighty than me and asked them to pray for us, we're going to need it.

Sound tactics for sure; should be a short team talk then.

It was meant as a joke to illustrate our plight and the paucity of our current squad.

Could we sign Jason Scotland, scorer of Hamilton's first goal and final penalty v Hibs last season on an emergency transfer on the basis that our strikers are pish? "He was released by Hamilton on 3 January 2015,[25] but then on 27 January 2015, Scotland re-signed for the club until the end of the 2014–15 season." So he's probably a free agent right now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Scotland

Newcastle United loanee Shane Ferguson made his debut for the first-team in the first-leg, as a second-half substitute. The Northern Ireland international impressed with his left sided display and has played his way into the manager’s thoughts ahead of the crucial fixture on Sunday. McCall said: “Shane Ferguson always gives us food for thought but he just hasn’t had enough football because he has been out for six or seven months. “He has only managed to get a couple of under 20s game because he has had a couple of knock and niggles. “When we’re in attacking mode we need him but we were never going to play him at Hibs because it was a more defensive setup but he certainly comes into my thoughts for the game this weekend.” http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/9404-mccallbelieve So maybe Smith at LWB with Ferguson to come later if needed? Or vice versa, take a chance with Ferguson from the start with Smith in reserve?

“The difficult we do immediately. The impossible takes a little longer.”—Motto of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, according to The Home Book of American Quotations, ed. Bruce Bohle, p. 35 (1967), which says that other branches of the service also used this slogan. Newsweek, March 8, 1943, p. 34, attributes this “cocky slogan” to the Army Air Forces. 2-0 and extra time, penalties even? IF and it's a VERY BIG IF we can pick the game up from the point when it was 1-3 on Thurs, attack and get behind them on BOTH flanks then maybe just maybe Boyd MIGHT score and we can pull of a famous result. BUT AND IT'S VERY BIG BUT, who thinks our defence can avoid losing at least one goal, epsecially if we go 3-5-2 and leave Ainsworth to run freely down the right? That said, he more or less ran freely against Wallace. If I was McCall, I might be tempted to send someone out to give him a good kick in the calf muscle early on, that might just slow him down a bit. “It can be done and it is not out of possibilities for us to go and win the game but we need to play for the whole 90 minutes how we did in the final 20 minutes on Thursday. “We would like to keep a clean sheet and you would think we will probably have to do.” (McCall, press conference Saturday, 30 May 2015 11:00) Right now I'm thinking 2-2 but perhaps I might let my heart might rule my head in the Prediction League nearer kick off.

Rangers want to sign the biggest name in European football
BrahimHemdani replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
Apparently Rangers have offered him a trial but intelligent as he may be, let's bear in mind he's never played a first team game of football other than for East Fife and seems to have disappeared completely for 3 seasons even if he was in Sociedad CL squad. I suppose he COULD be one that's crept under the radar and turns into a gem but let's not get too excited just yet. -
Can you see him dropping to the Scottish second division?
-
Hopefully they have only been stop gaps though I fear they may be there as King's placemen whilst he sits in SA. Murray is a failed director of numerous companies inc Rangers and Gilligan may have the connections and is good at giving tickets out apparently but simply doesn't have the gravitas. We need more men of substance like Park. If we don't go up, it will be a very difficult decision about how much to invest in the team. Personally I would go with a nucleaus of youngsters, Walsh, Hardie, Murdoch, Gasparotto, Crawford, McKay. Like it or not Wallace will be there and captain no doubt, plus McGregor. I think Law will be away and unfortunately Vuckic too. We will need at least one or two experienced MF, a RB (unless Sinammon can step up) and two strikers.

It's been a long journey for them and their enthusiastic fans, they deserve all the success they get.

Whilst I agree that McCall is not the long term answer he has shown a willingness to do the "right thing"; dropping Black and McCulloch to start with. Also who amongst us genuinely thought that he started the wrong X1 in the wrong formation? Most of the pre match comments were that the team more or less picked itself. The plain facts are that the players just aren't good enough. Tonight Motherwell were faster than us, they passed the ball much better than us, they took their chances better than us AND they had a goalkeeper who had an inspired night. They also had experience in abundance and a fast winger that Wallace couldn't get near. The second half was an embarrasment: we brought on Walsh who is talented but hasn't played for weeks at 0-3 and expected him to turn the game for us with a LMF player who has been out injured for heaven knows how long and a well past his sell by CF. There was a point when we more or less stopped playing because we didn't know what to do and Motherwell's MF 4 DID stop because they didn't have to move as we had no idea how to get through them never mind the back line well marshalled by McManus who can't have had an easier night in a long time.

Refunds were offered, accepted and paid to the two parties of 2 people who called off in good time ahead of the dinner. As the restaurant did not charge for the late call offs, refunds were offered but declined by the three people who called off within 24 hours of the dinner after the final numbers had been given. All indicated that they had not expected refunds and asked that their monies be held in the kitty for the next dinner. No refund was offered to the party of 2 who did not indicate non attendance until after the dinner commenced. The person in question indicated agreement with this decision and stated that he did not expect a refund. Those in attendance at the dinner, did not feel it would have been fair to "drink" the monies of the those who did not attend as the numbers would have been disproportionate. Therefore in effect we had a surplus equivalent to 5 tickets and some minor adjustments as set out below: ACCOUNTS OF THE 3RD GERSNET DINNER 17-May-15 Received for 18 Dinner Tickets @£10.75 £193.50 Interest Received £0.01 £193.51 Less/Refunded for 4 Tickets -£42.75 £150.76 Paid for 10 Dinners (inc Speaker) @£9.95 -£99.50 Balance £51.26 Add/Surplus Drinks Money £5.00 £56.26 Less/Paid for Gift of Wine for Speaker* -£3.99 £52.27 Opening Balance £16.77 Add/Surplus of Income over Expenditure £52.27 Closing Balance £69.04 I will be sending the receipts and copy bank statement to BD to verify for Gersnet. * Not as bad as it looks it was a decent bottle from Lidl!

Mine was a typo now corrected but as you say pedantry, perhaps, I'm well known for it Expensive PR though, what was the estimate for an EGM inc all the paperwork, lawyers fees, staffing Ibrox etc?

Why would the directors require "moral authority"? Do they not occupy the moral high ground already?
