  1. In my youth it was the Everly Bros, "So Sad". We used to have good times together, but now I feel them slip away, it makes me cry to see love die, so sad to watch good love go bad. This version, perhaps not the best, from the Reunion Concert in 1983. Look out for the legendary Albert Lee (complete with perm) on lead guitar in the background. Sadly Phil Everly passed away in January.
  2. Doncaster has always accepted that a 16 team league is the best solution but argued (rightly up to now) that the Clubs would never buy it because of the reduced number of league games (and he said that they wouldn't accept return to a group stage type League Cup to make up the games either). However, it is by no means impossible that the scenario you paint could lead to a quick change of minds.
  3. Basically you asked and I have answered your questions as best I can, though I was under no obligation to do so. However, for the sake of clarity I will say that regards CW I was referring to "one of the first" posts on here if memory serves me. As you may be aware I was on the Board of the RST in 2009/10 and it's Secretary for a time in 2010 which is why my opposition to KP's comments came to mind. I am not sure why my "record on such matters" is an issue; this is not a court of law, you are not a prosecutor to the best of my knowledge and I don't believe I've been charged with any offence. As I have said on here several times, I have no idea or interest in the politics or rivalries of the different internet forums.
  4. Questioning the intelligence and motivation of someone who has stood against the tide on here doesn't seem like the most intelligent thing to do IMHO.
  5. That's a bit like saying every player has his price; but the Club isn't a player and Ibrox 1872 Ltd is not about buying the Club now is it? So I don't think the "tipping point" analogy applies to the Club at least and personally I doubt that if King was in control he would give in to the kind of scheme he is advancing now, it would just make him all the more determined to do things his way. However it was only a question that came to mind, neither us knows the answer and I for one hope we never find out.
  6. That's the point isn't it; the Board will retain the rights to the batteries and hopefully they'll be rechargeable.
  7. Nice one and I'd accept it's a rather large point of order! Apologies to any Canadians I have inadvertently offended. However, since it is the MLS I suspect that all the salaries are quoted in USD for uniformity and it might explain the rather odd amounts if it was say 1,000,000 CAN in his contract and the MLS adjusted to a higher amount of USD. Obviously it would depend on the operative dates as the CAN was actually above parity with the USD for long periods in 2012.
  8. That's a pretty serious allegation. Any facts to back that up?
  9. How do you calculate that? Anyway, if it's a rights issue he'll have to pay for them and I don't see how it can be a scrip issue since there are no profits to distribute that way.
  10. Deceptive could have the meaning (1) misleading or (2) dishonest; but I'm happy to accept you mean the former.
  11. Bit more say, £13,000 but still half money if what is being reported here is correct. However , once you start living in the US, you won't be thinking like that you'll be thinking a million US is a million US. TBH listening to him on the radio, his childrens' education seemed uppermost in his mind but I suspect that money is a close second.
  12. Are you really sure that McCoist would know where to spend it? And BTW even supposing that King won out and invested £50 million, it wouldn't all be in the team, there's a lot needing done to improve Ibrox and a lot needs invested in marketing as well.
  13. No one will know that more than the Chair or perhaps the CEO and I would agree (with #33) that that makes the timing all the more interesting; but it isn't necessarily sinister.
  14. On the contrary it's crazy to ask for security you know you are not going to get for handing over fans' money for season tickets which would be a purchase (if it was allowed) not a loan at all. If Dave King owned Rangers and next season the UoF turned against him for some reason, and tried the same scheme fronted by someone else, do you honestly think he would give in to it?
  15. I'm not sure about the relevance of your questions in relation to the quotation because all I have done is taken a view on the Board's statement vis-à-vis the T&C's of DK's Company. The matters you raise were far more complex. However, I don't mind answering. If you check back you will find that I was one of the first to draw attention to Whyte's doubtful past as per the Private Eye article which was downplayed by many and I also supported the Independent Board Members who advised Murray against selling to him. I openly criticised Kenny Park who was the RST spokesman at the time when he said Whyte was "the real deal". I preferred Green to the other aspiring owners. I thought he did well in the negotiations with the SFA. I also thought he did very well to raise the £22 million in the IPO. I began to have doubts when the secret recordings were produced last April. I don't know why you would ask me to answer for any groups or forums; I don't speak for any group or forum. Perhaps you should ask your questions to them directly.
  16. Why would it have to be a false impression; could it not be that he IS confident of the future of the business however strange that might appear to us at this time.
  17. How could it be a bonus if he purchased them? More likely (a) it was about time he had an interest and (b) he is fairly confident that the price will rise from here. This looks like them: 07-May-14 10:18:21 25.00 5,000 Buy* 07-May-14 09:46:27 24.00 5,000 Buy* 07-May-14 09:44:24 24.00 5,000 Buy* 07-May-14 09:40:12 24.1257 20,000 Buy* 22,000 were sold at 22p yesterday so that will be most of them. Most likely he knew someone who wanted to sell a few. I agree it's symbolic more than anything else.
  18. He said in the radio interview they'd been talking but there was no offer on the table.
  19. His basic salary at Vancouver: 2012 $1,221,816 Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2013 $1,114,992 Vancouver Whitecaps FC •The Whitecaps' average (mean) salary is $143,604, just slightly higher than the league-wide average of $141,903. •With a total base salary expenditure of $4,308,121, the Caps are fourth-highest in the MLS, behind only New York ($10,008,068), Los Angeles ($9,026,930), and Cascadian rival Seattle ($5,363,796). •Vancouver's Kenny Miller ($1,114,992) earns the seventh-highest salary in MLS. A total of eight MLS players to draw over a million dollars per season, led by LA's Robbie Keane at 4 million per season. http://www.eightysixforever.com/2013/5/7/4309180/mls-salary-figures-looking-at-the-caps Small wonder they didn't want to resign him.
  20. You are right about that, selling Gazza cost us the 10-in-a-row as it left Laudrup up front on his own.
