The least worst solution ... the SFA suspends our membership for a season and sees that it can re-shuffle the leagues to a sensible format. And when we cry foul of this because of too harsh a punishment, they will point the finger at us saying: "You lot send Scottish football into chaos, now live with it." Would that be beyond these people? A question, btw. Why is it that "Rangers Football Club plc" actually holds the share of the SPL, not Rangers FC? Is it the case that all "companies" behind the other clubs hold a share, not the clubs as such? So in essence, the SPL is a legal/business construct that deals with the "companies" rather than the clubs itself? If a club (out of thin air, Ross County) has no "company" before entering the SPL (normal promotion), do they have to whip one up (a newco, so to speak) to get a share in the SPL?
-
Obviously, the authorities will appreciate the amount of money we pump into the basement levels of Scottish football, no?
-
There was a rumour (and no more than that) yesterday on FF that Aberdeen may indeed go into admin after the season starts (so they keep their status for that season).
-
A decent membership scheme will indeed help ... and possibly bring someone onto the board of directors too. Then there are Rangers radio and TV subscriptions, which probably will go up if we drop out of the SPL-TV deals.
-
No, but e.g. if every bill you pay not in time, or every tyre on your car ain't up to scratch is treated by the media/neighbourhood as if it is a disaster and needs world-wide attention, it creates an atmosphere where everyone looks at you and questions your every move. But maybe you do not agree that the hysteria-levels in the media are not that relevant to our plight? At least indirectly.
-
... just yet, you mean? As said above, maybe D&P thought this was possible. There is nothing saying that they aren't doing it as we speak/write. As I said, you do have to wonder about the "hysteria" with which "each thing Rangers" is being greeted by the media. No wonder that somesuch creates an atmosphere of discontent and paranoia, accompanied by a "blame mentality". In a way you have to admire these people working under such conditions, given the tasks that they actually face to keep us going.
-
The case still rests with the SPL. If they "kick us out", the real bother begins. Of course, you wonder if there are appeal bodies in this. After all, as Zappa has said, the punishment is way over the top and has no precedence. If the SPL and consequently the SFA have no answer to this, they should let professional people decide on this. As it looks the SFA, SPL and SFA are hastily looking for a 2-tier SPL arrangement. Given the power games involved, this will be decided by ... well Christmas. Will they blame us for this? Why should they? They will of course, but right in turn, we can simply say: had you had any brains and acted sensibly (as was done with Leeds, Motherwell, Dundee et al), there would not have been a problem. Your hatred, arrogance, envy, and ignorance got the better of you. Now you can dance to your own music.

So while the clubs will be loving this, raking in money to their hearts' content, one would assume that the locals - sooner or later - and possibly the press in due course, will label us vandals due to shortfall of e.g. toilets et al in and near the grounds, perhaps? Heck, I sound like a doom-singer!
-
I would assume that it has a bank account, the problem is the bank account into which the season ticket money would go. As I take it, D&P want to use the old account, since it probably would make less work to utilzie it once more - both for the club, the bank, and the customers (us). Lloyds simply said that there might be legal problems, since the season ticket money is actually "property" of the newco and any money into the oldco might be claimed by someone else ... perhaps? Of course, any bank can give us an account for the season tickets, as they are apparently ring fenced anyway. No great danger for a bank then.

What A Bloody Mess - Richard Wilson Herald
der Berliner replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
I simply try to keep an objective view on the matter, or try to make sense of some of the going ons. I would assume that people with a legal brain and some knowledge into these kind of complicated admin affairs will probably not rant about it in the way your common football supporter would. And yes, I know that some papers rolled up legal experts, not least the BBC. (And we all know that these people would judge their own impartially and fair, no?) -
On a sidenote, are these 3rd division clubs ready for a legion of Rangers supporters coming their way? Hospitality, catering, toilets et al?

Come on. "The Herald/Record/Sun understands ..." yes, one of them also actually said that Ally would quit the other day. They are suddenly all administration and newco law experts. I for one assume that this is a rather new field of changing a club's company for all of these people, so there are bound to be obstacles and questions. Is there need to make every such topic a disaster for the club though? -
I know that people will go out of their way and tell us all the wrongs D&P have made (in their humble opinion). At the end of the day, Rangers are de facto out of admin after a mere (sic!) 4 months, if not de jure just yet. Had HMRC not be soe hesitant with their decision, it might have been much shorter and less costly. And that is despite all the shambles Murray and Whyte left behind. And obviously it as pretty easy and simple to comment from the outside of all of this, not least for our administration experts on the boards and in the press.

I had a moderator on FF believing that this much like the Bury thing was all a ploy by Green to force the authorities' hands. That says a lot, not exactly about FF, but the way people's minds have become twisted by this. Bomber should sue these idiots nonetheless.

You mean, because we are not TLB, suspensions and bans racked up for different stuff are not served simultanously? We should be clear here, this is no "ban", it is a restriction. And if people think that when they send us down to Div 3, we will be playing in Europe in 3 or 4 years time, they need to think again. That said, once the dust is settled here, we should get all the evidence there is in a sensible manner at UEFA's doorsteps and tell them what brought the club down. It could well be that they reduce this "restriction" due to special circumstances, as it was not the fault of the club, its support, or anyone but Whyte and his inner circle. I for one doubt UEFA ever had somesuch before, so they may alter their general restriction for "new" clubs.

Wasn't that let's move to Holland nonsense? Maybe we could apply to membership in the Northern Irish League though. EDIT: That Leeds article ... Bates bemoans the selfish interest of other clubs for voting for that nasty 15-point penalty. Wow. Look what the warlords of Scotland are trying with us.
-
Essentially, as it stands, if they vote us out we either have no league to play in or apply to the SFL. Their boss has said - and I assume he knows his stuff - by their guidelines and rules, we start anew in Division 3. Whether they meddle about this or not right now, this is where we stand. Now, when are the SFL fixtures are out? Will they all swap the leagues about and promote other teams (oh joy for them) to fil the gaps till the top? Will all the SFL clubs have to vote for us too? I mean, if one board needs to do this, why doesn't this one? When will we start playing then? By their sort of scheduling it might be September? Or the SFA simply suspend our membership for a season and then they have time to reconsider it all. Ally should make sure that we can loan all our players for season, if we have any left.

I know that and I still have my share. As I said, it will be a piece of Rangers history and solely memorabilia. But it is memorabilia of my club, if you understand what I'm saying. These new shares that would go alongside a season ticket will be very much the same, but at least a token gesture by the new regime. And everyone would own a bit of that "new era" of Rangers too. Not much, but it would be a start.

Asked this before: was there even a vote when Leeds United played on in England? If so, who voted?

RFFF Statement on today's meeting with Charles Green.
der Berliner replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
Of course, as with the threat posed by the supporters groups of other clubs, how much value does any threat by the RSTor RSA et al have on ticket renewals? 5%, 15%, 70%. I would assume that if this is well managed via the Rangers site, the cries of some discontent will remain just that. (Obviously, the mhedia will spin their own web of distrust.) -
I have my moments, you know. Anyway, this does not say that doomsinging is the way forward. The climate it brews sure isn't healty. By now most people are very wary about what is going on, but this should not end up in us being paranoid. So forgive me if I at one time or another rein one or two of the doomsingers in. It is all in good faith or a greater good.

That is all fine and well. Yet, all the above has to face up to Lawwell, the Scum's hatred, and their lapdog press. They will not stop until we are down and out. That is what they are living for, some more than they love their club. And IMHO that is not exaggerated. We have seen this coming since 2008 at the very latest. This lot rather see us die and jump behind us in the grave than Scottish football survive. Is that mental? Of course it is.

RFFF Statement on today's meeting with Charles Green.
der Berliner replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
Maybe this fickle lot (i.e. the donators) should just wait a little longer? Green, the club, as much as the RFFF do not know where the club is going, so once that is solved, there is a far clearer picture to where the money is needed most. Having such a thing running is not like your everyday bank account where you can phone people up and check what's up on an hourly basis.
