  1. Yeah because that's what we need.. another central midfielder. Christ..
  2. Officially given up on coupons for this season.
  3. Saw him in Cruise in town last week.. still always think of his diving antics whenever I see him.
  4. Sorry forgot to stick the source in .
  5. MAURICE EDU insists he is not going to be Barry Ferguson's replacement when he runs out to face St Mirren in Paisley tomorrow night. Edu will be given Ferguson's central midfield slot beside Pedro Mendes for the match at Saints' new stadium but he believes he will bring his own style as Rangers chase three vital Championship points. Lee McCulloch got the job at Falkirk last Sunday following Ferguson's two-week suspension but a recurring calf injury looks like side-lining him for a week at least. Now American international Edu will get his shot and he hopes to take it with both hands. He said: "Barry is a great player and he brings a lot to the team. He has proven over the time he has been here that he is a great player. "I'm still early in my career and the great thing is that I have been able to train with guys like him and Pedro and I have learned a lot. "Hopefully I can come in and do the job. I feel confident and I'm sure my team mates will help me along the way. "It's not a matter of me replacing him it's a matter of me coming in and playing my part and being the player I can be. "I have been training hard every day and trying to keep my fitness up whether it is in reserve games or during training. "So when your chance comes you have to hope that you are ready for it and you just seize it. "It's unfortunate that Lee took that injury but it gave me an opportunity. We didn't produce the best performance at Falkirk but we fought hard and got the three points and that was the most important thing. Now we want to do the same against St Mirren." With Kenny Miller, Kirk Broadfoot and Kyle Lafferty also missing there are opportunities for other players to who what they can do. Edu added: "It's a chance for guys who haven't been playing much to come in and do well and help the team out in their time of need and then try to keep the spot down "I have been waiting in the wings and had a couple of games here and there and now there is a chance for me to come in. "Ultimately we still want to win the league so that's what we are trying to do. "I think mental strength is a huge factor for us right now because of what has happened and the way the season has gone. "You could put your head done and say 'Oh well' but no-one in our locker room has that attitude. They are all winners. "Every game between now and the end of the season is going to be a battle but the only focus for us to collect maximum points." http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1615739,00.html Part of me almost believed Dailly would get the nod..
  6. An absolute joke of an article. Tymoschuk signed a pre-contract with Bayern way back in Februrary.
  7. Tymoschuk agreed to go to Bayern in the summer a good while back so the idea of Dick wanting a deal in place for a replacement sooner rather than later is the only thing that lends this type of story much weight but as someone already said, Dick did mention he would look at other options first. I just wonder though.. Tymoschuk is a top quality player. For Zenit to replace him ideally they'd have to spend a pretty penny. I just wonder if Barry on the cheap is a good deal. Although Zenit do have a history of paying over the odds. They bought Danny for what, £24m? Madness.

    name this team

What I'd do for a dressing room like that these days.
  9. I'm no fan of Weir still playing as much as he does but he was the only option. My worry is more long-term. After Weir, who is there to captain us going forward?
  10. mms://video.premiumtv.co.uk/rangersfc/video/ferguson_mcgregor_030409_hi.wmv Dunno if this has been mentioned but a free apology video has been popped up.
  11. Was just thinking it was odd how McGregor was getting away with it. I'm still trying to compile an opinion on all of this.. it just screams that this is an easy get-out for Ferguson.
  12. Breaking news on Real Radio is that Ferguson will indeed be stripped of our captaincy and transfer listed following the scandal at the Scotland camp. EDIT: Just realized there was a breking news thread already, not sure if you want to merge them or what. And I mis-spelled transfer .
  13. Was in Campus while this was on and the cheers that went up when that happened and on every replay thereafter was hilarious.
  14. One that should be pasted above Kirk Broadfoot's locker.
  15. Jay McEvely? Been farmed out on loan to Preston and Charlton in recent months.
  16. It amazes me that after all these years we haven't found a better left back than Gary Naysmith.
  17. I hope so. I'm aware that some have lost hope in our Captain and some would even say he's finished, but I firmly believe that a Ferguson with his head in the right place and his heart on his sleeve can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and drag us through it. It's about time the likes of Ferguson first of all had a long look in the mirror and decide the time was now for himself to start performing then look around the dressing room and shake some others into life in the process. The chips are down at the minute so if the last few weeks of this season doesn't bring out the passion and drive of Ferguson then I think we can safely say nothing ever will again.
  18. Cracking goal by Ferguson by all accounts. I know he's been critisized for it but I'm happy with his celebration where he appears to tell his critics to shut up. Shows he cares even if his performances are floundering. I'm as disappointed in his performances since his return as anyone is but on his day he can be a real asset and I'm just urging for him to regain any sort of form. I get the feeling I'll be waiting a while, mind.
  19. Redknapp also said he was not planning a move for Rangers midfielder Pedro Mendes but did confirm he is interested in Ibrox youngster Daniel Wilson. (The Scottish Sun) Getting to the stage where I hope the young lad goes because as long as we're a Club who play people who are finished enough in their own position nevermind out of position at the expense of promising youngsters then he's never going to play. I've often wondered this season how a 39 year old Davie Weir has pretty much played 90 minutes of every match when this lads been sitting on the bench. I don't even think Wilson was on the bench for the Inverness game in November but it's an example. 5-0 up at half time. Surely had he been on the bench the smart thing to do would be to take Weir off and give him a rest and give the lad some playing time. If memory serves, both Edu and young McMillan were on the bench for this game and neither got a run out. Baffling. Anyway, rant over.
  20. Remember this? Well.. Abbondanza was out again today at 13/2. Instead of lumping on a single I got greedy thinking Man Utd were a great bet at 1/2 and did the double. Abbondanza goes and wins again.. Man Utd fuck it.
  21. Didn't bother last night but was going to take Brentford.. would of been gubbed! Cheeky tenner tonight on Ajax, Ayr, Cardiff and Aberdeen.
  22. Been on Sky Sports News today that Aaron is claiming the fee we would have to pay Valencia to make his move permanent is in the region of £3.75m. The way our Club is run these days it would be of no suprise to me if the lad was getting little or no playing time due to the fact we have no aspirations at all to pay that fee in the future thus Walter and Co. are hiding away from a future backlash if he were to become a regular player, do well and then return to Valencia after us refusing to buy him.
  23. I'm giving up. My horse bet today was Flintoff at 14/1.. leading up until just after the last fence and finished 2nd. As for my coupon? Leicester. Winning 1-0. Downhill from there. Wolves.. 1-1. Bolton.. Losing 2-1. And yeah, Reading. Losing 1-0. I give up.
  24. Took a bit of a battering at Cheltenham today..
