  1. Aye, he'll be attacking Wallace! Even Aird looked brilliant against Wallace when he played for Canada against Scotland! I am perhaps unfairly denigrating Wallace, but he will really need to get back to full fitness and find some form.
  2. Is it just me that is so totally deflated and disgusted with the Europa result that I cant even get excited about the signing of Dorrans?
  3. If you earn a fee for providing advice, you better be sure that you are offering correct advice. Plenty of examples of advisors being sued for defective recommendations. What we don't know is if it was pointed out to Sir Duped, who decided to proceed none the less.
  4. Has BDO attempted to sue the financial advisor who provided the original advice to Murray?
  5. Assuming that Jack and Rossiter are going to be the defensive midfielders, where does Dorrans fit in? From memory, he played in more of a holding role while at Norwich and box to box with WBA. I can't ever recall him providing a cutting edge and laying it on the plate for the strikers? Dorrans/Kranjcar/Pena supporting Herrera or Morelos? If so, Dalcio and Candeias would be surplus to requirements as the width would need to come from the overlapping fullbacks.
  6. Foderingham 5 Tavernier 3 Bates 3 Cardoso 4 Wallace 3 Jack 5 Rossiter 4 Kranjcar 5 Candeias 4 Miller 4 Morelos 5 Subs : Dalcio 4 Windass 2 Herrera 4
  7. We don't know if there is any sell on clause, so it may be a better deal than it appears on the surface. Disappointed that he hasn't become the player that he could have been with us, but such is life. The danger is that he is one of those players that forever lives on his potential. He did absolutely nothing for us in the Premiership and is still dining on the Celtic goal from two seasons ago. Hopefully we will get Walker in as his replacement, perhaps not as gifted as McKay, but certainly more effective in the Scottish game.
  8. Sorry, yes should have said I was referring to the digital boards. Didn't see SD mentioned once, only 32 Red, but probably just wishful thinking on my part.
  9. Not sure if this was the case or not, but all of the pitch side advertising that I saw on RTV was for 32 Red. I didn't see any mention of Sports Direct. Obviously I was focusing on the match more than the signboards but in the past, Sports Direct were always prominent (and irritating). Is this due to the new and improved marketing deal, or just a figment of my imagination?
  10. Foderingham had basically nothing to do, except a save when Bates was turned. Tav - as always decent going forward, great cross for Niko when he headed over but should have scored, defensively exposed when attacked. Will cost us against better teams. Bates - Decent, tidy performance for the most part, but I do expect him to be replaced once Alves comes in. Cardoso - Very comfortable in possession, thought he looked quite good. Wallace - Ponderous on the ball, particularly second half. Perhaps just lacking in match fitness or lack of understanding with Dalcio. Both should improve as the team gels. Jack - Thought he was our best player (after Niko). Broke up their play on the few times they threatened and kept the ball moving whenever he received it. I do think he will be a big upgrade on what we had last year. Holt - Industrious and tidy. Thought we lost our shape a bit when he came off. Miller - Kenny being Kenny. Effort, effort and more effort. Took his goal well. Kranjcar - Imperious, thought he was sublime in the first half, even if he was blowing out of his arse after 30 minutes. Kept going but he slacked off in the second half. Needs to cut out the fags! Dalcio - I do like the idea of a left footed left winger, particularly when Herrera comes into the team. Just not sure that he is the left winger that we need! Did ok when he moved over to the right and put in a good cross, but needs to work on his shooting. Waghorn - Tried hard, but nothing is happening for him at the moment. Still think he is off once Herrera and Morelos get up to speed. Candeias - Looked quicker than MoH (!) and put in a few decent crosses. Once Waghorn is out and we have a targetman in, think that he could create loads of assists. Rossiter - If he can stay fit, I would expect to see him replace Holt and build on a partnership with Jack. Morelos - Came on when we had no creativity, but would like to see him get a start in the away match. Overall, I was disappointed with the scoreline, but encouraged by the first half performance in particular.
  11. Foderingham - 6 Tavernier - 6 Bates - 5 Cardoso - 7 Wallace - 5 Jack - 7 Holt - 6 Kranjcar - 9 Dalcio - 5 Waghorn - 4 Miller - 6 Subs : Candeis - 6 Rossiter - 5 Morelos - 4
  12. Excellent at West Brom, less effective at Norwich (although I suppose that he had to wear a green kit then !) I do think that he will be a step up from what we have currently - imagine a combination of Holt and Jack, probably gives you an idea of his style of play.
  13. Ha Ha, very good! I don't see us playing a 4 4 2 formation at all, so in my opinion it will be one or the other depending on tactics and circumstances. Having said that, I expect to see Waghorn start on Thursday. Not my choice at all, but just going on the Ibrox training photos (and bounce matches), where it seems that he will be playing down the middle.
  14. I do get the impression, from the outside looking in, that this was on the Board's list of 'things to do'. Obviously, there has been a myriad of financial and other issues to deal with and resolve, which took priority and they are at last making some headway in this regard. However, if you have a look at the recent signings, all of them were announced on Rangers TV and not via the MSM. King and Co are not fools, they wont stand for this constant sniping at the club (or support), but I would love them to take the same stance as Linfield/Joe Miller, in that if you defame us, we will sue you.
  15. Feel a wee bit sorry for Andy, was never a defensive midfielder before joining Rangers, gave everything that he had, scored a cracker in the cup final and lived the dream. If he has played his last match for Rangers, then would like to wish him every success in his career going forward.
  16. Surprising that Wright is in ahead of Kelly and Rudden before Hardie. Also McCrorie has been involved in all of the bounce matches, but Houston is named in the squad? Can only imagine that all three are about to go out on loan. If so, hope that it is at Premier level so that we can see what they can do at a higher level. For the other omission, no real surprises other than Dodoo, but as was said above, we don't know how he performs in training or his attitude. I remember seeing him making his debut for Leicester versus Bury in the English League Cup and thought at the time that they had a real diamond on their hands. Was really pleased when he signed for us, but in all honesty, it does appear that his hat trick debut was, if not a fluke, a 1 in a 1000 performance.
  17. There was a lot going around on Twitter yesterday after Rangers wished their Muslim supporters the best for Eid Mubarak, which wasn't received well in certain quarters. Unfortunately, we still have supporters who believe that we should be an exclusively Protestant club. For me, anyone who pulls on the blue jersey is worthy of our full support, irrespective of their choice of religion. (That's the blue jersey of Rangers, not Aberdeen, by the way!)
  18. Thanks for that. Cant see anything there that would suggest he is a born and bred bluenose, so must see some business opportunity there. Is it Taylor who is the other Hong Kong based investor? Wonder if he had a whisper into certain ears!
  19. Anyone know anything about this chap? - The remaining shares held by MASH Holdings Limited have been purchased by Julian Wolhardt, the CEO of Dehong Capital Partners, a Hong Kong based private equity firm. Looks like it is in his private capacity, rather than via his company?
  20. Surely if C1872 raison d'etre is to purchase available shareholding into Rangers, then is he operating within his mandate?
  21. If Carlsberg did weeks... Rangers back in Europe Sign Morelos Announce new DOF Retail agreement reached Ashley (and sp**s?) to sell shareholding Warburton, Weir and McParland drop their civil claim Sign Herrera and Pena (today?) Add in the improvements at Ibrox and Auchenhowie over the close season and it becomes clear that we are at the very least, on an upward trajectory. After all the nonsense that we have suffered over the past 5 years, that's how it feels to be Rangers!
  22. Will need Elfideldo to provide the definitive answer, but fairly sure that McCrorie has played consistently at full back. He would certainly cover the entire defence with his versatility!
  23. What's not to like? Plenty of quality writers, and reasonable arguments are allowed and debated with minimal censorship. I like the size of the forum as you almost get a feel for the character of each individual member (and for those members like myself who are outside of the country and probably very little opportunity to meet you all at matches, that is quite important.) I do log onto FF from time to time, but generally this would be over the transfer window as there is without a doubt certain of those members are ITK. However DB and Ian1964 (and others) will usually cut and paste those relevant comments onto Gersnet, which is much appreciated as you don't have to deal with the waffle! With regards to those members who have left, I haven't noticed Zappa for a long time. Usually didn't agree with his comments or thoughts, but always well made and often thought provoking. What happened to him. Overall, compliments to the editorial team, it may not be the busiest, but is certainly the best forum, IMHO. PS. Definitely agree on the password issue, can never remember mine after the few months have elapsed!
  24. Having Jack and Rossiter sitting in front of the defence will definitely be of massive assistance to attacking fullbacks. I think that could bring out the best in Tav and Wallace, who are both way better going forward than they are defending. Would be surprised to see Tav leave, but won't be heartbroken if that comes to pass. More chance that Hodson would leave and McCrorie would be the back up for Tav.
