So howcome the Russian cyclist Igor Fromov couldn’t get his visa in time for the recent European championships in Glasgow but F.C. UFA can get 25-30 visas fast-tracked in a day or two ? Gazizov seems very confident. Has he had assurances from the U.K. embassy in Moscow ? Or have they got around the 5 day visa processing timeline? Something doesn’t seem right about this.

Just wait to see the reaction at BBCPQ Sportsound if Rangers get a bye into the EL group stages due to F.C. UFA ‘s visas fiasco. I must tune in to hear the meltdown.....???

This is the first time F.C. UFA have played In European Competitions. Perhaps inexperience played a part

AFAIK fast track visas take five working days & they’re not applying til tomorrow. You’d think they’ve no chance whatsoever of getting these visas in time

I suppose the reason that the draws in the qualifiers are made so much in advance is to allow teams to prepare for getting visas etc. when required. And F.C. UFA have only themselves to blame for not doing so.

Wonder if there’s a job description for the SFA CO. What does he/she actually do other than watch games not involving the yahoos & try to dish out retrospective punishments

Exactly !!! Until we appoint a high-profile Rangers CEO or MD prepared to challenge this sort of appointment then this will continue. Nothing personal against SR but he’ s not my idea of a Rangers CEO or MD. He’s too low- profile for me. WhenBrian Kennedy was allegedly wanting to buy Rangers it was said he’d wanted Gordon McKie as MD/CEO. McKie is a Rangers manwho previously was at SRU & takes no prisoners. HE’s the type of MD/CEO we need in my opinion. Someone prepared to confront these people

Not running down the Maribor result at all. FWIW I thought Osijek were a better side than Maribor. And we played better against them, especially away from home

I think the Maribor side we played maybe past their best a couple of years ago. But I would agree they weren’t that great. Maybe because they’d been in the CL we expected more of them, but I’d suggest they only got in the CL because of the ridiculous ‘champions route’ qualification which has allowed inferior teams like them & the yahoos to get into the CL only to get slaughtered in the group stages

Is it not a bit concerning that we had a referee at Pittodrie (Clancy) who, at the Rangers penalty, either didn’t understand the rules or, for whatever reason,didn’t apply them as he should have done?

As part of this so-called Lafferty deal, why would hertz want LW, a player who's hardly played over the past year ?

It is still early days yet but the signs are looking good. A year ago we'd have crumbled if we'd got a man sent off after 30minutes but today was totally different. We looked comfortable with 10 men against what was basically just a team of SPL journeymen. However I've got 2 concerns:- 1) the squad is still light. We need more cover in certain positions. CB especially 2) Morelos excellent start to the season won't have gone unnoticed. If we got a realistic offer could it be turned down ? Is that why we're looking at Lafferty? If Morelos goes he's the shoe-in replacement ?
