The manager signed those players. He picked those players to play. The manager decides the tactics & gameplans( which are almost always identical & predictable). He has the ultimate responsibility. The buck stops with him.

Green never signed 11 players last summer most of whom have made little or no impact. The manager must accept responsibility for that.

FWIW I think Waghorn found his level last season in the championship. The premiership is a step too far for him
