My guess is we’re going to see one or two arrivals at boardroom level who’ll bring financial backing. These individuals will want their own people in place running the club in the key roles.

On those not out of contract we’re hoping to offload much will depend on whether the player is willing to leave and maybe accept a lower wage elsewhere. Not always easy.

I see Kris Boyd now saying that Jack Butland wanted a move to Rangers last summer. If that’s true questions need asked about the DoF and why he didn’t pursue it. Butland wasn’t out of contract last summer so presumably there would have been a transfer fee. Was that fee too much for us or did he(& presumably the manager GvB) think the goalkeeper situation was ok for another year or so. If that was the case it was quite a bad error of judgement

I’d doubt if Ryan Jack would want a pay-per-play deal if he’d offers from elsewhere. My view is he should be retained on a one year deal mainly for Europe where we need home based players
