Which ‘young cheap players with potential’ ?

I don’t think the signings have been fine. That’s a big part of the problem. Too many are injured or can’t get in the starting XI.

Wilson’s been here three years is it? isn’t that long enough? And isnt the DoF responsible for the appointment of the manager?

I’d include the DoF too in that. He has questions to answer over some of the signings we’ve made and also the ones we haven’t made

GvB isn’t blameless but the DoF has questions to answer too.

Probably correct. The board probably think injuries have a lot to do with our problems. I’d say they’re only partly correct, the manager needs to evaluate his tactics & game plans which are entirely predictable. Can he do that? Can we maybe play 2 up front?

Not sure there would have been too many manager opportunities for Ally after Rangers. Just about every job in Scotland wouldnt have paid him anywhere near his Rangers salary he went onto gardening leave IIRC but can’t remember how long his contract had to go

My understanding of how this normally works is that the sacked manager (& his staff) continue to be paid their contracted salaries for the duration of their contracts but contractually 1) have to be seen to be looking for alternative employment 2) have to accept a similar offer within an agreed percentage of current salary of job vacated.

Hence why I think GvB & his staff going nowhere atm.

For me the problems are above the position of team manager. Does anyone really believe sacking GvB and bringing in a replacement (who by the way) would turn things around completely? we’ve got a squad basically made up of bosmans and bargain basement signings with the occasional youth or loanee thrown in. And also with a DoF doing what exactly? Bringing in players at cut price fees with injury records ? Letting once saleable assets run down their contracts? What would any new manager make of this ? Until we get serious investment(from where I don’t know) to go out & get better calibre players then we’re stuck where we are I’m afraid with the occasional good season but mostly mediocrity

Vos wouldn’t make any difference. First thing we need is a clear out of players.

Same old, same old….. Putting delivery after delivery into opposition penalty box to a single striker who’s outnumbered

I see at the yahoos AGM Michael Nicholson( Liewells successor) was claiming it would cost £100m😳 to redevelop their main stand (the one with the roof held up by hydraulic pillars except on matchdays) 😂😂

Perhaps that level a bit beyond Katic but could easily handle the SPFL week in week out which is what we need right now

I’d wait and see if Ben Davies can play a full season first before saying that. Missing too many games already for my liking

I’m a great believer that if you get the football side of things right at a club then the rest becomes easier. We’ve not done that. Since 2016 promotion we’ve had 4 managers & Murty temporary twice. That tells its own story i.e. some poor appointments. On the football side I believe we should be basically an under25 team with 2 or 3 older players at most. And always be prepared to sell on players we develop and reinvest the money in the squad to begin the process all over again. Like Ajax do. We are now starting to see this happening although our recruitment has to be significantly better than we saw last summer and previously too. We are on the right road but only at the very beginning. There’s a long way to go

SAF used to always say before signing a player - CHECK HIS ATTENDANCE RECORD Maybe if we did that we wouldn’t have so many injured players just now

We’ve got 10 injured or suspended players. Not sure the manager can do much about that

£28m ??? Find that difficult to believe

We’ll need to invest some of that money in the first team squad otherwise ….

If we’re seriously to compete at CL level we’ll need mega-investment in our playing squad. And I’ve no idea where that investment will come from
