The Rangers Winter 2025 Transfer Rumours and Deals - Thread
RANGERRAB replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
My understanding was that once Hagi reached a certain number of games he was entitled to a wage increase. I believe he was on £21k p.w. but he waived the increase and was allowed to join the first team squad again. What I would say about Hagi is that he had more of an entitlement to his wages than some of the others on higher wages. At least he was in the first team starting XI & playing well. I genuinely hope he doesn’t leave. Replacing him with similar quality won’t come cheap. Sometimes you need to bite the bullet so to speak -
Long overdue. No point in having a B team if it didn’t have a league to play in

They’ll leave only if somebody wants them -

A goal scorer you’re looking for you say……um yes I think we can help you. £6m sound good? Nice little runner this Dessers. -

Danilo injury might stop Dessers leaving in this transfer window -

Both dowell & Lawrence won’t be here next season. -
Best way is to cut the exorbitant wage bill. And by that I mean the non-playing staff roles also. Anyone heard anything from the new communications guy yet?
-
No is the short answer
-
How much to sack clement? I think he’s contracted for another 3 years. I’d guess he’s on around £2m p.a. So( fag packet sketch calculations ) 3 x £2m = £6m then there’s his back room staff Id suggest that’s money we don’t have at the moment
-
The interview makes me think that at present they’ve no idea who they’d replace Clement with.
-
It’s a stay of execution for the manager. If results don’t improve between now and the end of the season then he’ll be gone.
-
Agree but I always felt covid saved SG after the SC defeat at hearts
-
Easy to say. I didn’t hear too many people saying they were bad appointments at the time. And one even got us to a European final. Don’t forget too SG got 3 years to win something. The 3 managers since then haven’t been as fortunate
-
I always recall that day 9(?) years ago when king & T3B took over. My first thoughts were…. What experience do these guys have running a football club like Rangers? one bad appointment after another…. one bad decision after another….
-
If it’s McInnes then that would tell its own story. For the life of me I cannot see what’s in his managerial CV which makes him a candidate to be Rangers manager. Yes he did play Rangers as a squad player but that’s about it. The once mighty Glasgow Rangers….

No way Sean Dyche or any EPL manager would take the Rangers job without money to spend
-
Even if true the board need to have a successor in mind. I suspect they don’t

Absolutely no chance he’d take the Rangers job. First question he’d ask would be what he was getting to spend on new players. Face facts, if Clement goes we’re looking at a McInnes level of manager ….😩 -

I’m not sure it can be worked on. Ronald de Boer warned us about Dessers when we were signing him. Unfortunately he’s been proven correct. -
I’d presumed PC recruited Alex Rae primarily for his knowledge of Scottish football
-
I don’t think now is the time to dispense with PC although I think there may well be a review of his position at the end of the season. Reading through this forum and others what concerns me most is the amount of Rangers supporters who advocate sacking PC without offering a name as his successor. As I said in another post, I think Clement is the symptom not the cause of what is wrong at Rangers

The harsh reality is that there are only 5 or 6 of the current squad worth keeping. We can’t get rid off the rest( mostly the high earners) because of the contracts given to them by Beale & Wilson. Until these players are gone & replaced (hopefully with better ones) then I don’t think we’ll see much progress in the short term regardless of who the manager is
