Great thread - I'm in the Max and Mr Steel camp. I deplore any links that the club has to the sectarian OO. Just my opinion.

Over the years, we have produced some decent players, but as yet, no real world class player. Is there a magic formula or is it just down to luck? I remember when Man U sold all their experienced players and replaced them with Scholes/Becks/Neville's and everybody thought Man U had discovered the secrets of producing top youngsters, but since then no one has really came through their ranks. Of course, we have the added problems of the English juggernaut on our doorstep. Young kids are having their heads turned by the bright lights of the EPL, so even when we do produce a decent prospect, the promise of a big pay rise and the lure of potentially playing in the EPL means that a Scots youngster would prefer to head south than to play in sunny Scotia.

Fuck them. Ignore them and get behind the 'Gers.

He was mediocre in the worst Liverpool side in decades, he certianly didn't "show himself up" as suggested. In fact he got quite a lot of assists last season if I remember correctly. Anyway, best get back on topic? Bring back Big Eck??

I wouldn't say he showed himself up at all. Any time I watched them he was alright, not great but certainly no worse than the £20m Jordan Henderson.

We're in a unique situation where we have an opportunity to build a legacy with the club, but we need the right man at the helm. Ally was my idol growing up but he's not that man. McCulloch in MF just fucks us up every time, he's not a CM, if we're going to persist with the long balls then McCulloch needs to be up front.

I've already explained my thoughts on why Black was boo'd. If you're not going to read what I type then I'm not going to type it again. As for the crowd being majority hibs fans, I think it is pretty obvious that when the national team visits your stadium, and especially clubs starved of success, then the 'home' fans will more than likely want to go to the game. Not that that would necessarily need to be the case for the Hibs fans to boo Black. All it takes is a handful of idiots to boo and it sounds worse (as in more people) than it actually is. If, say Scott Brown, was playing for Celtic, and they fucked us in the SC final and Bwoony was celebrating and goading us at Hampden, then a few months later, Scotland were playing at Ibrox and Brown came on as a sub, are you telling me that no 'fan' at Ibrox would boo Brown? 'They hate us' is just paranoid rubbish, almost Timmy-esque. Black was getting boo'd at Ibrox last season, was that because we 'pyoor hate Hearts' or because Black is a wee cunt who is the type of player that other teams fans love to hate?

Most of the crowd were Hibees, and anyone whose been to a game will know that all it takes is 10 people to boo and it sounds worse on the telly. But like when Adam or McCoist were boo'd when they played at Ibrox, booing your own team is unacceptable. I can honestly say that in 20odd years going to Ibrox, I've never boo'd a 'Gers player or team, but we've all heard the boo's at HT if we were getting beat.

We boo'd him at Ibrox not that long ago, was it because we hate Hearts? Black go boo'd because he used to get it right up the Hibbees when he was at Hearts. How very noble of you.
