The Summer 2021 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

Good news about Defoe. -
It wasn’t quite that, though, as Bluedell points out. On the other hand it wasn’t a bungling miscalculation either but a “departure” from normal procedures. So, compo is right. The aggrieved deserve compensation. Gonzo is also right. The rogues deserve not a penny piece. The ideal solution is for the chap who organised the “departure” to pay compensation out of his own pocket but the cash should be diverted from the spivs to the saviours. I wonder who is the culprit at COPFS. Wolfe must know.

Wingers, not just good ones but brilliant ones, were never in short supply at Ibrox. Walters easily took a place among them.

Yes. No. Up.

Dykes played for Livi. You’re in a hell of a mood today, old bean.

Wouldn’t fancy trying that with some of the bamsticks at matches, dB. Maybe it’s different with disciplined Germans. Over here you would want to make sure your dental insurance was adequate. -

Currently dormant but fourth in the list of English League Champions after United, Liverpool and Arsenal, with nine wins well ahead of upstart Chelsea and ‘Spurs and in the city of Liverpool at least as many followers as Liverpool. Never won the league in the guise of the EPL but if you were a Sheik with cash and a long view, you’d be looking at Everton before Leicester or Leeds. -

Ancelotti gone, who gets the Goodison gig? The likes of Dyche would be a step back for Everton but Ancelotti was probably too big a step forward for the level they were at. I’d be trying to get Bielsa. -
I’m interested in quite a few English teams but interest is not enough. A team is only yours if victory brings wild exultation of joy, a draw brings sullen discontent and defeat casts you down to the depths of despair and seething rage. On that measure I have only two teams, in alphabetical order, Elgin City and Rangers.

Baird said this, not Uilleam. Many years ago before Baird went to play school, the Inland Revenue dealt mercilessly with some Highland League clubs for unpaid PAYE on players’ wages. Hapless rustic Club Treasurers had been assuming contributions would be coming off the part-time players’ wages from their main employers. Baird was probably putting Whyte and Murray on the same scale.

Can’t help. I’ve got a bye to the semis.
-
Wim Jansen didn’t bother me either.

Pity you missed it. It was a real match i.e. each side tried to win the game in 90 minutes in a way that suited their abilities Chelsea’s defending was outstanding without ever losing the chance to go forward as a team. No bus parking and in those classic Scottish managers’ words, “hoping to nick one on the break”. That’s enough praising Chelsea. Jammy blues.

Correct result unfortunately Rousseau is right. Chelsea’s defence was brilliant Bill could have been right. A matter of inches and City could have scored four. A David Silva would have ensured that the inches were in City’s favour. An Aguero would have ensured the dividend. Sterling has enhanced his musculature at the expense of pace. Not good for a winger. He must be planning retirement to midfield. A goal down into the last half hour, who do you bring on? Fernandhino? What was Mahrez so agitated about in the tunnel before the second half? Kante, a superb football player. Stage manager for the artists. Last game of the season and my pre semi final prediction is correct. More’s the pity.

Other theories are available. One might be a scandal, real not manufactured, tainting his suitors

Of the animal variety, Foxes, Tigers, Rams, Robins, Lions, Seagulls

I’ve already forecast Chelsea 2-0. Check my season’s predictions and be afraid CB.
-
Pace Uilleam and Chelsea Boy, that’s the kind of forecasting I like.
-
Chelsea’s name’s been on the cup for a couple of months. 2-0. But when I review my prediction record this season and my inner City man cheers up.
-
That’s true. Newcastle, the Real Villa and Everton have bigger UK supporter potential but global ‘Spurs have the London look and the stadium to prove it. I could chip in with a couple of hundred quid if you’re thinking about a consortium.

And the greatest of them all, Lennon. Whither to? Wolves surely wouldn’t want to downgrade as much as that. Hawthorns, perhaps. Hope not. I like West Brom.
