Do we really need a guard of honour from them or from anyone else?
-
Agreed. What’s the point?

It’s probably different in modern, corporate, career-path days but in the long ago, it was normal for high-flying members of the Faculty of Advocates to take time away from private practice to do a turn as Advocate-depute in the Crown Office for a few years before going back to gold mining. It was seen as a sort of honourable thing for a decent chap to do.

There’s a certain choreography to it now. Zaha is right. The players are on the pitch to work, not to express political views no matter how worthy.
-
Not really. Ever since the days of Joe Louis, entitled the Brown Bomber after his devastating punching power, all Browns have been called Bomber. The header ascribes the quote to @Uilleam but it is, of course, a quote from the juvenile who wrote the Times article. A mistake like that Uilleam would not make.

I don’t mind Sheffield United but I agree a properly functioning Wednesday would be better. I’d like to more of the proper northern clubs back in the top league, Preston North End, Bolton, Blackburn instead of the likes of Palace, Brighton and Southampton. Looks as if Norwich and Watford are coming up. Can’t wait. Brentford might be interesting if they can remember how to play football. Adherents of the clubs I have disrespected so shockingly can relax. The grimy dinosaurs from the past won’t make it any time soon.

Collum makes horrendous mistakes but I genuinely believe most of his mistakes are honest unlike the “mistakes” of some of the others.

Forfeit the match. Give celtic three points. Their need is greater than ours.

BBC Wants To Kiss And Make Up With Rangers Now We Are Champions
Scott7 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
bbc PQ don’t have to do anything. They don’t need access to Gerrard. The majority of their listeners either detest Rangers or have no interest one way or another. Hopes have been expressed over the years that London will intervene? Why? London has no interest in Rangers. But what about Gerrard’s great achievement? Liverpool fans will be pleased for Gerrard and see evidence of a milestone passed on the road to Anfield. Most of them won’t care that Rangers are champions and the same goes for other English football fans. Some will have respect for Gerrard as a former England captain but he isn’t on the same level as Charlton or Moore. So, London doesn’t have to cater for a constituency demanding access to Gerrard, still less Rangers. Nothing is going to change. Even if we were given McLaughlin’s head on plate, is their next chap going to be any better? -
I expect Chelsea to go through.

This is an extract from Trademark Search. The noxious content is in Bold. “Based on Celtic F.C.Limited, the OLD FIRM trademark is used in the following business: Transportation services; travel agency services; arranging of tours; booking agency services for travel; arranging of travel, travel courier and guide services; consultancy, information and advisory services relating to all of the aforesaid services.” Apart from the Ibrox address, I can’t see a reference to Rangers’ ownership in any of their corporate identities.

Very nasty club, celtic.
-
That’s a very good letter except for the “Old Firm” reference. Sturgeon has no answer to this so she will ignore it and one of her running dogs will come out with something else. 55 is having a wonderful effect on our friends and a devastating effect on our enemies. Marvellous.

If Rangers had been encouraging supporters to go out and celebrate their joy, the Police would have every right to complain but its their job to police the streets, not Rangers’ and if they can’t it’s the job of the government to provide the necessary resources. I used to know a few senior coppers. Only two of them had college degrees but even they had started feeling collars on the beat. None of them would have sat in overheated offices in short-sleeve shirts issuing statements, whining and buck passing. They would have been out clearing the streets.

No chance for McLeish but Strachan maybe.

Some good predictors last week. Some not so good. City 1-2 So’ton

Don’t think so. Sheep fans not keen on him and Cormack is probably too shrewd.

Mrs 7 had to take her car to the garage this morning so went in to drive her home. First time my car has been on the road in months so I thought it best after dropping her off to drive a bit more to charge up the battery. From the back of the wardrobe I had fished out the famous old reefer, vintage 1959 and draped it casually over the console at the nearside and took it on an hour long tour of town and county. I’d have flown it out of the window but I didn’t want any snp folk trying to set fire to it at traffic lights. I don’t normally do flamboyant celebration so I’m resting quietly at home now. I’ll have calmed down by morning. Maybe..

Might have been better if I had been. Just comparing it with previous Liverpool/Chelsea games in particular a match at Anfield in Mourinho’s first spell in the season after his first Championship. Liverpool were very good that day but Chelsea were stunningly brilliant.

What did Ross say?

I watched a little bit of Liverpool v Chelsea last week. Liverpool were poor and Chelsea little better. Scottish Championship standard.
