  1. Five matches. Five aways. What’s the odds?
  2. The night. Blades 1-2 WBA Wolves 0-2 Arsenal United 3-0 So’ton Mags 1-0 Palace The morn Burnley 0-2 City Fulham 2-1 Leicester Leeds 1-2 Toffees Villa 2-0 Hammers Liverpool 3- 0 Brighton The day efter the morn ‘Spurs 1-2 Chelsea
  3. Maybe Goldson leaving for decent money or Helander, perhaps. Maybe Katic’s recovery is uncertain. Maybe both.
  4. One point for a home, two for an away, three for a draw, four for a correct score. Scott: 2 (dope test passed) @compo: 3 @Gribz: 14 (Stewards’ Enquiry, surely) Gribz select treble.: Scott: 0 compo: 2 Gribz: 6
  5. 0-0. Two draws. Not bad, right enough.
  6. First half WBA were as bad a team as I’ve seen for years. Second half they brought on Diagne, a signing from Galatasaray at centre forward, big strong bloke. Within a minute he gets the ball, hares towards the enemy goal and hoofs a shot which is cleared. You could see the rest of the team suddenly remembering what the game’s about and in a few more minutes they equalise and take the lead soon after. Being West Brom they couldn’t hold it of course but their second half performance not great but a huge difference from the first. Fulham played pretty well throughout. Should have been three, four up by half time as is customary for visitors to the Hawthorns these days.
  7. That poor man needs help. I wonder if the rest of the quartet had anything t say. They didn’t look as if they were persuaded. I don’t do twitter and I can’t be bothered with blogs and podcasts but do we have gibbering paranoids like that?
  8. Evidence of a sinking ship, I hope.
  9. 1-3 at the Lane (I know but it’s a better name than the new one) ’Spurs spiral but Scousers hang onto Leicester’s coat tails. And so, the weekend: Toffees 3-1 Mags Palace 0-0 Wolves City 4-0 Blades Baggies 0-2 Fulham Gunners 3-1 United So’ton 2-2 Villa Chelsea 2-1 Burnley Leicester 3-2 Leeds Hammers 2-1 L’pool BHA 1-3 Hotspur
  10. Well done, Blades. Ole oot.
  11. Actually, I think you were right first time.
  12. AG, you say? Álánná Gliánná Seminary?
  13. I very much enjoy reading your posts, John, but a small correction if I may.
  14. Uilleam on a roll sgain.
  15. Surely Bookies wouldn’t open a book on Benitez just to tempt gullible folk to give them money, would they? Must be a genuine option.
  16. Full midweek card. All the more chances to get it wrong Palace 1-2 Hammers Newcastle 0-2 Leeds So’ton 1-2 Arsenal West Brom 0-3 City Burnley 1-1 Aston Villa Chelsea 2-1 Wolves BHA 2-0 Fulham Everton 0-2 Leicester United 4-0 Blades Hotspur 2-1 L’pool
  17. Lampard’s a Hammer. Moyes should be updating his CV.
  18. Hope he’s better than the last Wright from Aberdeen.
  19. On the face of it, Cheltenham played very well and it was a good game to watch. Is that he example to follow rather than 5-5? For the sake of the spectacle it is. On the other hand, Cheltenham could gave been 0-1 after 25 seconds and 0-3 in the first quarter of an hour.. Strategy and tactics. They are right if they work and wrong. If they don’t..
  20. Steve Bruce hasn’t won anything as manager apart from promotions. Newcastle have been huge under-achievers for years, even before the Ashley blight. Keegan had them on the way but Nigel Winterbottom kicked Ginola off the park at Highbury, then Chelsea beat them in the cup at St James and Keegan lost his head.
  21. 1-3 in the end. Mendy a hobbling shadow of the player he was when he started with City. Aguero irreplaceable. Foden a gem.
  22. Pensioner, like Luis. And Cech. Didn’t score.0-1.
  23. Arsenal will score. Will Saints score more? 2-1? That or 0-4 Gunners.
